  • 43 people should be EXTERMINATED!

  • Am I the only person who likes both David Tennant and Matt Smith as the doctor?

  • @PrincessAlyssHearts You can't like Tennis and watch ALL of the classics in the same breath. Which I doubt you have

  • Keff McCulloch ftw!

  • @Randomizer903 Meh...It was just a joke

  • 43 ppl got a headache from looking into the time vortex 4 2 long :D David Tennant's my fave Doctor btw :)

  • @dahmedgunner Haven't seen much of the show of the show have you? No recons for you? You like whiney crying doctors!

  • commanderelvlys his name was tom baker. I love ALL of the Doctor Who's I've ever watched. Tom Baker's I grew up with. Chris Eccleston's I recently found and loved. David Tennant's I've just gotten started on. I've not seen any earlier than Tom's. None of the 80's-90's versions. I'm sure they're pretty good. What DW show isn't!

  • @kenziggy1969 Nope, I'm speaking about Colin Baker, the sixth Doctor. No relation to Tom Baker apart from his role.

  • Epic. just epic.

  • Am I the only one who liked Colin Baker's theme?

  • @CommanderEivlys One of the more epic ones!

  • Oh my giddy aunt !

  • This made my day. Thanks!!!!

  • 2005 was the best (Christopher Ecclestone) by a country mile, injected more of an essence of urgency, emergency and danger into the series. Anyone care to disagree and explain why? or shall we just agree? ;)

  • Idc how cheesy everyone thinks Sylvester Mccoy's theme is. it is beast!

  • @greatness1993 I know! My favorite of ALL of them!

  • I think it's funny how Tom Baker and David Tennant, the two best Doctors, also get the two best themes.

  • DARLEKS STOP DISLIKING THIS VIDEO! GOSH, he will always win forget it

  • Are you my mummy?

  • Although Ron Grainer got the credit for writing this theme, most people connected to the BBC radiophonic workshop are adamant that it was actualy composed and recorded by the resident genius Delia Derbyshire. Listening to her other compositions I would have to say her style is written all over it. There are some good interviews with Delia here on youtube. She was a leading light in the "musique concret" genre and sadly no longer with us. Thanks for your great post.

  • This must be one of the longest running science fiction series to date, and definitely one of the best.

At the time of this comment, 43 people couldn't figure out how to use a sonic screwdriver.

  • @DTSephiroth It IS the longest running science fiction series to date. :)

  • @Juxtaposition1869 I stand corrected good sir, now pass the Sonic Screwdriver :)

  • Thanks for putting this online! It's very well-compiled! I love this music and this show.

fuck SOPA and fuck PIPA. Long live the free Web!

  • @johnnations And then fuck ACTA too!

  • 43 people love pears :/

  • @ShadowNinja1995 what's wrong with liking pears? just because the unanimously best doctor doesn't?

  • @BrianRimmer What theme did you use for the opening and closing of this video?

  • I think 2008 and 1980 are best

  • This is only the First, Second and Third Doctors!

  • @NaveenDHaran oh congratulations on failing at trolling.

  • waving my hands like the mental person i am trying pretending to conduct the song.

  • Man the producers couldn't make there minds up on the theme tune xD

  • I forgot how graphically bad ass the 2nd Jon Pertwee theme and opening was. I had forgotten.

  • david tennant all the way!

  • The Dr Who intro at 2.11min and one with Peter Davidson are the best versions of the theme by miles.

  • @sstylianou I agree. I loved that theme and opening the best!

  • @sstylianou I agree, I feel the same way

  • greatest transition ever between sylvester mccoy's and paul mcgann's themes lol. very professionally done there.

  • Peter Davison theme = Epic.

  • This is greatness, almost a heavenly experience, maybe olny some people achives the conection to that place ,where all can be possible with the eyes closed and the mind free of money ties and distances measurements, light speed is not faster than fantasy, and fantasy becomes a reality when you release hate and fear,I am the number 5555 who likes this masterpiece .........

  • Oh my Gosh!!!! The 2010 theme is so awsome!!!!! Its at 5:53

  • @LordDeathis What do you know? Me Too!

  • 4:09 is my favorite

  • The drum beat... the drums are coming closer... and closer.

  • Its like a timeline of progress in visual effects between 1963 - 2010.

People will look back on the 2005 - 2020 as the period of time where people loved having there name/company in the opening titles.

  • I always forget how freaky hyperspace is.

  • This was... too epic. I am speechless.

  • EVERYBODY SING ALONG!! DOO WEEE OOOOOOOOOOOO EEEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

  • The original and the Trial of a Time Lord ones are by far the best

  • david tenant has the best theme

  • The 10th doctor is my favourite doctor, he also had the best theme!

  • This rules I love it !!

  • 4/4 time.. surely I'm not that old..the old wartime marches?..

  • OMGIZZNIT! :O SOO GOOD! :D

  • Tennant and eccleston FTW!!!

  • 42 people got a headache from looking into the time vortex to long

  • Colin Baker is best. Boo shitty tennent and smith

  • After Davison Who went to shite

  • this video took time and effort 42 dislikes go '''' yourselves

  • its amazing when you follow the keys on an organ its so simple to play i thought it would be much more involved........great music ..................

  • Also, my favourite is the david tennant one.

  • I really like that they kept the same theme song, very catchy.

  • Very good! Great job!

  • Although this is good wasn't this originally done (very well I might add) by a fan (and his brother)? What happened to the original video, was it exterminated by the BBC?

  • worlds best intro for a series period

  • The 2008 theme is my favorite; big and dramatic while still staying closer to the classic themes than the 2010 version.

  • I heart this show soooooooooooooooo much <3

  • I love how you can see the varying sensibilities of the five decades this show's been on. Like, yup we've hit the eighties - now the nineties, and oh, now the gritty 00's reboot.

  • 42 dislikes?

    clever...realy clever

  • The 1960's one is my fave!

  • @Agibabs A timelord's gender cannot change during regeneration

  • @sephersword they did do an audio drama with an alternative regeneration where the Doctor was female.... just saying.

  • @sephersword Yes it can. See "The Doctor's Wife", and the story of the Corsair. :)

  • The most badass theme song ever.

  • I wish they still showed the faces of the doctors in the openings

  • I think the best is that with Christopher Eccleston. Also, he's my favourite doctor and i love Billie Piper so... :D

  • interesting ... i didn't know that they used a different arrangement for the early Jon Pertwee years. the 3d doctor episodes that i've seen all used the arrangement for the first two doctors. i guess that this was only in the UK then?!?

  • @tsartodd That's the abandoned Delaware synthesizer version. I think it was abandoned at the last minute before broadcast, but some of the prints that were sold overseas included it accidentally, hence its inclusion here for the sake of completion. :)

  • A quite impressive compilation. Thank you!

  • my favourite one is the matt smith one, just looks SOOO EPIC

  • I love this vid, as does my son, but why does every montague of the Dr's different incarnations always forgot Grand Moff Dr?

  • @ProblemHonorStudent

he isn't considered a 'canon' doctor because of many places where the lore conflicts with standard who lore.

  • @HelmutVillam Wow, really? I see lore problems in it all the time, but ok. Thanks for the info.

  • i may get some sh1t for saying this bu i think that the matt smith series is the worst intro out of the lot

  • @hugamumfterwoof

I agree, it has no percussion, sounds like a Hollywood remake.

  • @hugamumfterwoof cant stand the new Dr. it sucks. the Best were late 70's till Collin Baker was done. Then Sylvester McCoy was great. Then the movie so-so. Then the next 2 where great!! Matt Smith no thanks.

  • oh yeah nothing beats teh original

  • my favorite will always be the one with tom baker, but the one with the 9 and 10th doctor i love cause ITS SO MUCH FUN TO PRETEND YOUR ON A ROLLERCOASTER havent watched the series with matt smith yet :/ starting to.

  • @phantomkitty1234 matt smith is excellent

  • wow I forgot how shite the movie version of the theme was

  • 4:31 This to the end of this theme sounds like a credits song at the end of some spy movie... lol. Very epic.

  • I always hated the 9th, because of the way "Doctor" came out, it made the show look like a cheesy talk show.

  • Nothing beats the original. Creepy, low-key, subtle. Was ruined as soon as it was remixed in the early Troughton period, when it just became flat.

  • @Yetaxa I concur

  • @Yetaxa I think that sound is made from the glass harp.

  • The Daleks, Cybermen, Master, and 37 other enemies disliked this video.

5,403 people know the awesomesness of bananas :D

  • My doctor is the 11th and i started watching with 9

  • Every one has there own doctor. mine is the tenth cause he HHOOOOOOTTT!!!!!

  • ...Ponies brought me here.

  • @Soldierlozer That's just like all the Doctors!

  • I love the second last and the last one :)

  • what is the remix in the very beginning and very end?

  • Nothing new to be said about the music, so I'll just comment on the very nice transitions. Well done compilation.

  • Y U NO have MP3?

  • in my opinion the further it goes the cooler it gets

  • I hear the sound of drums in this....

  • nice work

  • The master must have create 40 Youtube accounts and hated on this video.

  • @Slaterking2010THATS WHY HE'S CALLED THE MASTER! MWUHAHAHAHAH!

  • @Slaterking2010 I wouldn't put it past him . . .

  • @Slaterking2010 make that 42 accounts the master made

  • I love all the themes because they each suit their own Doctor. The first theme was alien and mysterious, just like the First Doctor. Tennant's theme suited the series' 'epic' feel of the time, and the new one reminds me of Eleven running around in the burning TARDIS, saying 'No! Not good!'

All the themes are fantastic and suit their eras. Can we stop fighting about which one is the best?

  • The main point is that they must all go by the same tune.. To keep ir real.. And all.

  • doctor who is so much fun to watch now cuz of CGI ! so believable

  • Fun fact: The noise the Tardis makes is actually a key going into a lock slowed down x300.

  • @DanniiXDoomm REALLY?

  • @DanniiXDoomm Not quite. It was produced by dragging a set of house keys across guitar strings and then adjusted with echo and reverb.

  • @Primetime2262 *piano strings. I believe there's actually footage of Brian Hodgson literally scraping keys along the strings inside of an old piano.

  • the themes change like their personalities...a little different, but you can always tell its the doctor

  • Everyone should upload a vid of themselves dancing to the section at 4:32

  • I forgot how freaky Hyper Space can be.

  • I have to see this show.

  • Comment removed

  • Please tell me there is MP3. This also goes great with a project I am doing about black holes

  • ...less is more

  • It becomes more and more normal instruments through the years. Kind of a backwards evolution of the theme.

  • I watched Doctor Who 1963 the first episode. Two of the people watching saw a part were a dude pressed a button in the TARDIS and it was so trippy, so they were like whoa someone pressed the acid button. XD

  • Does anyone else see Alan Rickman at 6:55?

  • National Anthem. Get on it.

  • 3:34 to 4:38 was crap. Then the BBC got it right

  • @SamuraiX6288 you have to keep in mind that they had to appeal to the audiance......if you saw the same intro for years you'd be bored would you not?

  • @MegaRazorback Totally agree. That is why I was happy when the BBC changed it to the cool one that they had through the 10th Dr. After that though, the new one is kinda lame xD

  • @SamuraiX6288 Hello, not sure as to what you are listing to my times show Sylvester McCoy, what his theme is the main opening with added ending from Tom Bakers time when they had to many Credits to show. So he added it to his beginning.

  • david tennent was the best docter

  • @austincaleb100 YES, so sad he isn't any more

  • the outro would make a great 50th anniversery opening

  • I'm just going to casually leave a comment every time I'm here, as proof of how often I re-watch this vid.

  • last 2 are the best

  • Is it me or does 1:08 look like Darth Vader?

  • thumbs up if you think stephan fry should be the 12th doctor

  • 1 and 11 are best.

  • Excellent! 10 / 10!!

  • I was born in '92, and I only begun watching doctor who about a year ago. Many people ask me if I started with Matt Smith, I say nay.... Hartnell all the way kiddies :3 I do love the darker overtones of the older doctors, but I love the humor of the newer ones as well. so I guess I'm a neutral on the subject of it all (not to mention most of my male relatives look like an incarnation of the doctor in some way or form ^ ^')

  • Comment removed

  • Matt Smith is a good doctor but hsi music is fucking gay XD

  • I don't get why u guys say dr who became childish... I personally think it became too difficult for kids to understand and even for adults...

  • Doctor who is fading. It's more for kids now. COME BACK OLD DOCTOR WHO! WE MISS YOU!

  • Comment removed

  • I love how they all sound different, but still sound the same.

  • @Soldierlozer Just like the Doctor :)

  • 3:09 I'm gunna rape you...

  • I just tripped so hard...my balls are tingling from this

  • I'm trippin major balls on this video right now

  • OH MY GOSH!!! I AM LIKE THE NUMBER ONE FAN OF DOCTOR WHO!!!!!

  • HOLY COW! I think the tardis ran into the ad without exploding!

  • I like nine and tens the most but eleven was very good too.

  • was i the only one a little stunned when i saw Patrick Troughton's face appear? i wasn't expecting it

  • go 11! i love all the themes. It's so cool seeing how they evolved over the years

  • 9th Doctor was THE BEST.

  • @HitchhikingTheGalaxy Jon Pertwee for sure

  • I feel like I'm flying through the universe

  • Good times, still good times. All hail The Doctor!

  • So One of these days by Pink Floyd is inspired by this :)

  • weooooooooooooweeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooweoooeoooooooooooooodundundundundundundundundundunudndunweeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwweeeeeeeooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • this is my FAV. song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • Since Billie & Christopher left I stopped watching, Chris was eccentric and clever, after him it just focused too much on sexual tension and ridiculous stuff.

  • @Kyle11359 Yes. By far, 9th Doctor is my favorite.

  • Is it just me that think that the first one is the most amazing one? I mean, that was made in the early SIXTIES! I wouldn't know where to start with recreating that intro.

  • Its amazing to see them all in one, and to watch them evolve :)

even though i have only watched them ALL from Christopher Eccleston and onward i think Doctor who will always be a undescribable feeling for me and i love it, i would like to see older episodes one day :)...Thank You For uploading :) x

  • My mind travelled back in time, beautiful memories....thanks

  • I have to say, the themes I like most are Tom Baker and Peter Davidson. Those two were *THE* Doctors to me.
