How did you get the clips to stay together when you retimed it? I know Pro x does that. Does Final Cut Pro do that for you? I have Premiere pro by the way.
ok when ever i do like slow motion i always get these weird frames that like cut back to the beginning of the frame.. why is this haha. you dont have to but if this makes no sense you could probably see it in my videos.
hey guys im tvids88 im a 13 year old film maker and I make comedy and action films, ive been working on my film bedroom warfare since july and I finally finished so please check it out and leave a comment thanks alot!!!
ok i'm using FCP7 and when i try to edit an AVCHD (i log&transfer to copy the videos from the camera) and edit the speed... i have to render out the speed changes, i've noticed you don't have to do that... is there some kinda setting i need to mess with or what?
I would say to shoot at 60 frames per seconds (nothing to hard to do, my 99 dollar camera has that option) and zoom in and out using a tripod, like you said. but I'm putting extra emphasis on shooting over cranked! fcp choppy slow motion looks kinda crappy. Then its just the matter of doing the math to figure out how fast you need to speed up you footage in order for your shit to look normal at regular speed.
p.s.: don't record sound doing that, FCP wont get the audio when you do that
AAAACCTTUUUAALLYY the way they did the affect with 3 different cameras all on the same plan with different focal lengths. then in post they blended the shots together. if u dont believe me go look at behind the scenes on the DVD they tell u how they did it.
@Rawr5649 This effect can actually be done in any editor with speed adjustments (Even Windows Movie Maker). If you've got a mac, you can also do this in iMovie. Try to start making videos with the applications you've already got, and show them to others. If your parents buy your stuff, show the final result to them, and they'll understand you really like to edit movies... That's the way it works. Make it, then take it! ;)
Actually, I think the "in-camera zoom" effect in 300 was a combination of real zoom and/or frame morphing between multiple cameras running at different speeds.
@TheRandification I cn tell you categorically that employers care greatly about your practical knowledge. the difference between amateur and professional film making is exactly that. to be able to reproduce a product time and again to a certain standard adhering to certain practices such as time remapping is crucial as a professional. Also this barely scratches the surface of remapping, so in total, everyone who matters knows whats its called, if your amateur do what you like, but no jobs fo you
@scottybot2003 Woaw woaw slow down buddy... did I ever ask for a job? Surley I know remapping. Just because I don't have a fancy name for it doesn't make my finished project any better or worse.
First of all, I'd like to say I'm a big fan of your videos, old boy. Second of all, I just thought I'd give a little trivial to you; you are right to say that this effect must be done 'in post' because in the film 300, what they actually did to achieve that mentioned effect is they had three cameras filming concurrently at different speeds and zoomed into different angles and they were very close together; the 'zooms' are actually CGI digitised transitions between the different shots. Neat, eh?
