I know it is very overwhelming but I had a cleft pallet when I was born It is very common to have. It IS a miracle though. It was very upsetting to my mom, especially when she tried to feed me because the milk would juts come out of my nose due to the cleft pallet, but under the age of 1, i had a cleft pallet repair done (the hole in my mouth ceiling), and another one done when I was 13 and now everyone can understand me very well. ummm he will be fin i know this becouse i was boren with a cleft palet an im 13 and i had that surgery a cupple days after i was boren and im just fine and i always say peopple with cleft pakets are the best peopple that walk the earth so if you need help getung threw this just message me ill heplp you!!!

aww my daughter was born with cleft of soft and partial hard palet.you couldnt even tell cuz it was on the inside. she had successful surgery when she was 9 months :) congrates too all! its hard at first but the doctors out there are amazing!

i'm 25 years old and had a surgery 4 cleft lip and i turned out grand. i got my nose done when i was 19. kia will be grand. because of all the atendance at hospitals- i thing kia would need more attention than others to deal with it all!!! life go's on!!!! kia is cool!!!
this video reminds me of my sons soft palate surgery last year in august and he is doing great he had a total of 3 surgerys so far he was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. I hope your son is doing well.

Hey bec78r, I am born with the luchky charm.. I am 35 years old and I had hard time during school years. However, I learned about perseverence, understanding others. Accepting imperfection is process of becoming a perfect, beautiful human. :)
Your son is stunning- a gift and a blessing... it is the most frightening thing to has your child go through a surgery.. i have survived 21 of them... don't let the surgeons convince you of the cosmetic work until beautiful Kai is old enough to be a congizent par tof the descision making process...... God bless you, and your amazing baby!

I have cleft lip and cleft palate, I am now 17 years old and am only just stopping treatment for all the various effects of them. Well done Kai!

my 9 year old daughter was born with a cleft palate after 3 lots of surgery she is fantastic!
i worried if her speach would be affected by it as she got older but shes top of her class and no one can tell that she had one.
