Emily! This is very cute! Did you ad the hum to the video? Are you going to SPX this weekend? More videos please! If you come to MoCCA, then we must meet.
@soniccaffeine hey Kimberly: where did you see my description? The grad school I went to was Goddard College, and I attended the MFA Interdisciplinary Art program. Tweet at me (same username) and I'll give you my email address so we can discuss things further.
...I haven't seen your face in so long...It was lovely to see.
The irony I'm catching is in an age of technology powered by electricity, you choose to be using a non-electronic form of reading (as opposed to a Kindle or Ipad) titled "Off the Grid" which I also find very apropos.
@emmfan09 Also, I should say that I assumed the book was fiction and then read the quotes and have deduced that it's nonfiction, but I should've thought this all along because most of the books you've talked about with me have been nonfiction.
@DigitalCable I've always thought that, if given 10,000 spoons, I would be able to make at least one knife (depending on the material of the spoons and the availability of a heat source).
I seriously did a double take when I saw you posted a video. I thought I had pulled a cached version of the page from 2010 or something. But yay Emily! I like Oatmeal's comic about irony.
@ICOEPRproductions I wouldn't say 'back' really. It would be dumb to make a video like that because I'm not about to start making videos at a frequent pace, so every video I make would have to be one of those.
it's definitely irony. you wouldn't expect someone to be reading any book underneath a noisy power generator, much less a book that specifically addresses the benefits of living without them... assuming that's what the book is about.
ROFL! This is now a classic! ;D

Hi!
Would you mind me asking where you went to Grad School? I love your description of the program and want to switch Grad programs.
Thanks so much,
Kimberly

I especially appreciate the irony that that power station is operated by National Grid.

Man it would have been bad if one of those birds chirping fell into that electric generator thing...

Is it meant to be a double play on words?
Like you're off the grid...like you're not on the fence..
And like you're off the grid like you don't make as many videos anymore...

Good to see you back. I like that you did something bold rather than the standard apology/excuse video which nobody really wants to watch

It would be irony if you electrocuted yourself. That would be VERY tragic.

Was this the video you said failed? Because that would be silly.
Anyway, there's been a hole in youtube without your videos. haha.
Morlaboborla 7 months ago
@Morlaboborla I uploaded the raw file last night -- took 2 hours and then it said "failed to convert"
but after I exported it in FCE today, it uploaded in 8 minutes and converted no problem!
ChateauOfADoubt 7 months ago
@ChateauOfADoubt Ohhh, bahaha, I thought you meant failed during filming . Well herp derp.
