  • @Planogardener lol gotta luv it! The following week, I won some daylillies at that Mckinney Master Gardener expo! Mannn.. I should have tried to win that Megamiillions! oh well. ;-P

I did check the compost bin today, its already warming up nicely! ..hmm wonder if I can win a compost thermometer someplace. lol

  • I'd love something like that. I guess they aren't for sale and can only be won. lol. Thanks for sharing.

  • @SleestaksRule oh yesss.. its really exclusive. lolll ;-P

Unfortunately it doesn't automatically turn the compost!

I really don' t want to fuss with turning the stuff over.

    Its a pain in the.....

  • Straw and grass clippings are perfect for the compost pile. My favorite mulch is oak leaves, since they crumble up quickly, to a fine consistency, and don't commonly contain seeds (unless it's acorns, and the squirrels find those rather quickly!) : )

  • @Helioforge whew...the video looked fast but its alot of work! loll I started with alot of dry stuff, with the straw and leaves, since here in Texas I'll be cutting the lawn once a week pretty soon I'll just "harvest" some more of the grass clippings and work it in. Yea that stuff breaks down fast. I know oak takes a while. Its ok. I have that compost tumbler which is definitely less work, but probably not as efficient... I don't think it heats up like a larger bin on the ground does.
