  • Would this work with wooden pendants?

  • @JCGirl24 Yeah, it just wouldn't be fully recycled then. It would, however, be a bit more sturdy.

  • 15:43 it looks like a mini ransom flag haha

  • You are amazing, I wish I had your creative mind. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy your tutorials, I will subscribe after this post. I pray you get over your insomnia.

  • Will nail polish work instead of the diamond glaze? I can't find any in any of the craft stores in my area.

  • @Reemaew It may work but I never use it so I can't really tell you how well it would work.

  • What other brands of glaze can I use for glazing it?

  • @NerdsEveryWhere9 I don't know really. It's trial and error.

  • @NerdsEveryWhere9 I have a hard time finding Diamond Glaze in my area too, so I use Impex 3-D Crystal Lacquer. It's my favorite because I can rub it on with my fingers, it dries quickly and has a gorgeous glass-like finish. If I can't find that, I use Glossy Accents by Ranger or Anita's 3-D Clear Gloss Finish.

  • love the little cups tip, so sensible but ingenius! thank you x

  • I love your tutorials!!!(:

  • Wow! I love it!!! U spelled SYN...as in Synyster Gates!!! :D anyways! I really enjoyed this tutorial! Thank u soooo much for sharing! I've watched other videos of yours n i love them! Oh! And u DID put tha eye pin thing right..if it were the other way, the pendant would swith back and fourth..in my opinion. Again, thank you soo much for sharing, lovey! ^_^

  • @xXxRegstrxXx Aw, thanks. I'm hoping to get some more videos up after I get over being sick. (...and you probably already know I'm sick with a terribad earache from the whinefest that I have left on my live comment feed on my channel... lol. Thankfully I'm getting better finally.)

  • @BeyondBracelets

Glad to hear ur feeling better!

  • Sorry for asking again...... But what is the REAL use of diamond glaze

  • @ipark1234 The real use? It's a dimensional glaze. I've used it for coating these, paper beads and wooden box lids that I have woodburned. Some people use them for picture pendants since it gives depth sort of like resin would without the fuss of resin.

  • that is really cool thank you:D

  • Instead of the diamond glaze, could you just use the glue and water soultion? wouldn't that work the same?

  • @Sunkistjc1 It wouldn't seal the piece as well. Watered down glue is not really meant to be a sealant since it is very weak. I'd say try some spray laquer or something that is specifically a "glaze" or "finishing" product. I've come to like triple thick as well as the diamond glaze.

  • if you wanna make it with out the eye pin how do you let it dry?

  • @jucykat642 You can poke a hole through the entire thing with a thumbtack (the push pin style with the plastic handle) and then you can hold it there... plus you'd have a hole to hang your chain/rope/whatever.

  • would just plain clear nailpolish work ?

  • @artisticrainbow Not for very long I'd say. I'd try some diamond glaze, triple thick, etc. Nail polish might work but I wouldn't recommend it since I doubt something coated in it would last for more than a month or two. Maybe an acrylic nail polish would work but the regular $1 clear coat might just wear off more quickly than you'd want.

  • merci pour ce tuto , c'est tres bien fait et bien expliqué.

  • love the brush......

  • very creative! Im an going to try this.. Also very cute dryer. I would have never thought of that

  • @beyondbracelets ok thank you.

  • I'm going to make this for my friend for her birthday. But I want to make it a necklace, which chains would you recommend?

  • @kelseygirl333 I think it looks nice with a suede string. You could probably find a basic chain at Walmart/The Craft Store if you'd like silver/gold, though.

  • hahaha i am in cyberspace and its very educational thanks to you

  • "insomnia gives you time for pointless stuff" STORY OF MY LIFE

  • @VidoeLover365 Some I buy online but I will usually check Michael's Arts & Crafts or A.C. Moore before resorting to online purchases. I like to physically see what I'm buying so I generally pick up most things in store.

  • So if your using tissue paper would you kind of rip it and layer it like that or just do like one or two huge pieces?

  • @allthingsgirly123 That depends on what you want. Ripping and layering is usually the best method for tissue paper since it will bunch on the sides if you tried to do one or two huge pieces. It also adds depth and interest since tissue paper is pretty transparent.

  • where can u get the eye pins?

  • @princessadic24 Jewelry Section at the art store.

  • @BeyondBracelets thx ill look for them :)

  • i tried this.looks awesome. :D thanks for showing the idea.i made myself a pendant ....it's drying ^^

  • @JunsuiGackt Awesome. You're welcome. =D

  • @beyondbracelets

Have you thought of gluing your letters to a sheet of paper then making photo copies to use to speed up covering your pendant? Regular printer paper would be too thick but there are really cheap papers that are thinner weight that i think would work. If it's too thick to wrap the edges maybe do a strip around the pendant and then place a few letters over the edge hide the fact it's a strip? If you're doing tons of pendants it might be worth a try.

  • @jcrefasi1 Yeah... I just didn't have a very good printer at the time. Just got a new one and it seems to work well so I might be able to do that.

  • @beyondbracelets I see that you have a very creative mind and I like to think I'm kinda creative too but you beat me with your drying stand!! That was genius!

  • this is so cool! you are very innovative. all these videos I have watched are ideas that i just would have never thought of on my own. you rock!

  • i love the paintbrush :]

  • The pendants are so cool

  • I made one like a Cross with the name "Jesus" in the middle :) Thanks!

  • this is amazing.. :O it seems so Londonish like ... like you'd see London teenagers with stuff like this.. it's brilliant! .. :O thanks for these videos.. deff worth a try .. love your creativity! .. and hmm... because you've got insomnia? you've been able to find ways to put yourself to great use and make awesome stuff.. :)

  • @sheffieldsavenue7683 Yeah well, when you can't sleep it gives you time for lots of stuff. haha...

  • @BeyondBracelets that is so awesome, thanks for sending me a comment.. I was gonna ask, what do you use to make the red color?! do you use paints, markers?! ..

  • @sheffieldsavenue7683 That would be the ever awesome RED SHARPIE.

  • @BeyondBracelets oh wow.. huh.. thanks for letting me know.. I've got one of those yay... haha... :D brilliant :D ..

  • @sheffieldsavenue7683 Yeah, I glazed it first with the diamond glaze then did the red sharpie... then glazed it again.

  • @BeyondBracelets ahhhh.. hmm k! :D I shall do that then :D yay! ... at the moment I am currently cutting letters :O .. but I'm gonna have to look into them eye pins?!

  • @sheffieldsavenue7683 You can just unbend a paper clip (metal one of course) and use that if you don't have eyepins. You will need round nosed pliers to make the loop (eye) though.

  • oh cool thxs

  • Also, (I know third comment ina row!) Walmart has like that size bottles of elmers glue for 40 cents (at least mine does!). I bought two, but if i get really into it I'll go by more.

  • @Comader17 Hm, well maybe I'll find a quick way to do the pendants... quicker than painstaking one letter at a time. I have an idea of something that might work. We'll see.

  • but, they do seem to take a long time, so i might not have enought time. :(

  • Me and my friends are gonna do an art stand/booth and I'm selling some cool belts I make out of plastic bags, magazine necklaces (don't ask, I have WAY to much time), and I'm gonna try to make some of htese to sell!!!! Here I come Sweden... actually, i can't go till i save up 6,000 dollars and till 11th grade, yeah, i need to save... a lot!

  • where that orange color came from?

  • @xvzw Red Sharpie.

  • i enjoyed this tutorial. gonna make a bunch of pendants as give aways to my guests on my 21st bday this coming saturday =)

  • @Jessica12122012 Awesome. Happy Early 21st Birthday.

  • I feel like Juno is talking to me

  • @rockerchic99 THUNDERCATS ARE GO? =/

  • LOL you sound exaclty like her

  • After you make the pendent, what do you do with it, do you just put it on a piece of string and wear it?

  • @blondekittyg I usually put it on a piece of chain or some sort of cording... sometime I use suede straps as well.

  • @BeyondBracelets But do you just wear it?

  • @blondekittyg Yeah.... that's the point of any pendant. Hang it and just wear it.

  • can u make also any shape with the beads?

  • @ahdi04 These aren't beads. These are cardboard pendants. You just cut the cardboard to the shape you want and then decoupage on it.

  • Cool u can use glue stick instead of diamond glaze

  • @cardtrixmaster Glue isn't really meant to be a glaze. You need a protective coating... glue won't really protect anything. You can use anything that will form a hard outer coating... maybe a clear acrylic spray or something if you can't find the diamond glaze.

  • Where did you buy Diamond Glaze?

  • @irockyesido1 I got it on Amazon. I bought two 10oz bottles ($16.00 a bottle) and I'm only now half way through the first bottle. It lasts a long time.

  • Yyyyyyyay! i liije ur videos, sorrt 4 my baf typiiiiin, im halhf asdleep.

  • can you use mod podge glaze will that work

  • @kcf16 You can try it but I doubt it will last quite as long. The diamond glaze is pretty strong and gives a very "plastic" coating... mod podge isn't really much better than glue when it comes to coating something for protective purposes.

  • I loooooooove ranso letters :)

  • Is the Diamond glaze water proof?

  • @soloperfetti No, it's not water proof.

It is "water resistant" meaning if you get caught in the rain the paper beads should be fine. Just don't submerge them (shower/swimming/etc with it is not a good idea) or else they will get ruined.

  • Couldn't you just use clear nail polish for the outerlayer?

  • @TrainMeToFly No... it will not work... it's weak. WAY too weak.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO. I'm so excited I found your channel ^.^ If you have anymore pendant or homeade bead ideas, I would LOVE to see them! :D

  • I love this idea thanks for showing us I am going to try this thanks

  • @TheCutiepie1975 You're very welcome- Good luck!

  • Oh you should make a video on how to make it

  • @cegirl7 It was VERY difficult to do- it took me about two hours. No one in their right mind would want to watch a two hour video of me decoupaging a pencil- not to mention how would you sharpen it ever?

Sanding it is the only "big thing" you need to do- the rest is skill and patience.

  • @BeyondBracelets okay thanks i tried to do it but it was very hard!!!

  • @cegirl7 It is hard- that's why i probably won't make a tutorial on it. I don't want people assuming it is easy because I "made it look easy" or something... so yeah.

  • @BeyondBracelets I understand but thanks for the tips!!!

  • Awesome idea to use an old nail polish bottle;)

  • @Shellybelly4evr Yeah, I got sick of the brush drying out on me while I did my paper beads and I figured "Hey, I like the function of a nail polish bottle... but I nail polish is way too weak to use..." then it occurred to me I could just use a q-tip and clean out/empty a bottle that was drying out a bit. It works well and it never dries out on me.

  • Just wanted to say, in case it could help anyone. I didn't have superglue either, so I used a double sided tape, and it's excellent. It was also kinda funny, because before I started sticking ransom letters on it, it kinda looked like an oreo.

  • Half of it

  • How did you do the brush I started on a pencil but it didn't turn out right well halfnof it didn't turn out right I have not finished!!!:D

  • @cegirl7 You have to sand it first.

  • This looks amazing I'm gonna have to have a go, I like your creepy ransom box too

  • @missinfekt Haha, thank you!

  • lol for the eye pin just use an old paperclip...then its recycled!

  • @GirlOfGlasses That's a good idea, actually. Thanks!

  • Hey can I use clear nail polish instead for the glaze??

  • @1Elley8 You could try but Nail Polish is very weak.

Diamond Glaze is called that for a reason- It's hard as a "Diamond" when it is dry. I'd say that nail polish would probably make the end product prone to peeling, chipping and bending.

  • i love this idea, im gunna try it! :D

  • @faithhopelove001 Haha, have fun with it. =D

  • Could I use a glaze that you use on polymer clay?

  • @ADubLove1 I'm not sure what glaze you're using, but you're welcome to try. I just like diamond glaze because it is hard as a rock when finished.

  • Woah, that looks awesome :D I really wanna try it, but, for the base, is there any alternative to the hot glue gun?

  • @DeeaWoops Maybe super glue??? im not for sure though. Just a suggestion :D

  • @DeeaWoops Super glue might work as 23ElociN said, but the thing with hot glue is it makes the center very firm so it isn't as prone to bending- I also think the heat of the glue helps squish down the cardboard a bit. You could try super glue, but I don't know how it would work. Good luck!

  • @BeyondBracelets Okay, sounds good. I'm going to try the superglue, because I don't have access to a hot glue gun :P I also loved the whole ransom letters thing, and last night I cut about half of a magazine to make some myself. Mine are colorful thought, but I guess they'll come out alright aswell. I can't wait to try it ^.^
