  • Shame this has been demolished i really like cold war stuff but i live in a small town and the only interesting thing about is hat the last public hanging in Britain was there.

  • Lol you sound like the imprisoned serial killer on reno 911

  • If I ever found something like that, I am sure that I would be freaking out, thinking what if the hatch closed on me? Paranoia is a bitch.

  • Thats coool i want one

  • Watch out for the Kiwi Monster.... lol

  • Cool video, wish you guys had more light.

  • @KuyaBillRomjue Thanks. Yeah, I wish we were better prepared, too. This place was torn-down (filled in) recently. :-(

  • coordinates please....

  • @DjUndying1 32.876328, -116.414566 are the coordinates, but a friend recently visited this site and has informed me that this and the other structures have all been demolished now. :-(

  • went here back in '91,, there are TWO ways to get into the shelter, one is a stairwell on the notrth side of shelter, the other is an escape hatch & LONG ladder, you would pop out in the the open area in between the main building and teh old radar dome building,, last time i was up there, ( abuot 10 years ago) the shelter was closed up,i remeber it was about 60-100 feet long, and had stairs on the north side, and on extreme other end south side was some sorta escape hatch

  • @SanDiegoBoatRental It's an awesome shelter to explore. A friend has informed me that this bunker - and the rest of the buildings at the base - are all gone now. A demolition crew began work about a year ago - and apparently they have finished the job. :-(

  • Kiwi monster FTW!!!

  • @TheBazterdz :D

  • 1:29 is that a dead person?

  • @deffar123 LOL

  • how did you get in there if its on an airforce base

  • @RandomProductionsCA The Air Force abandoned this base in the late 1980's. The US Forrest Service currently owns the property.

  • and did you find the stargate?

  • @thanqualthehighseer hahahahaha.

  • They know how things worked

  • @REmegafan Definitely.

  • The switches are old,so is everything else, its not crappy stuff, just old,my grandma was around in the cold war,so was my grampa

  • @REmegafan True. A lot of things were better built back in the day.

  • haha when u flicked the switch u just fucked with the lights in the white house lol or activated a zombie contaner pod

  • LOL, Everyone has a gay accent.

  • @LeksMishka It's the echoing of the sound inside this underground tunnel - I assure you!

  • @slworking2 WHat in the world!? I didn;t post that... My son must have my comuter. Again. I'm terribly sorry, Sir.

  • @LeksMishka AMERICAN ACCENT LOL

  • @novaturbkkk My son posted that. He has since been removed from his Internet Use.

  • 0:15 kiwi monster lol

  • This stuff is neat I would love to explore that and many more I'm intreagued by that type stuff ..... Say if the gov has it dosent that mean that we need our own they obviously know something we don't .....

  • Very cool!

  • maybe the bolder was just natural . Dont question the government .

  • I explored a very old one. Its all smashed and crap and i think it haunted haha

  • At 0:55 they found a Zombie trapped down there...

  • kiwi monster lol

  • @nubsniper143 LOL

  • they sealed the zombies down there 0.0

  • @TheNinjabassist It seems that way.

  • @TheNinjabassist

Or somone connected their drug tunnel to that.

  • was there a few days ago its been bull dozed

  • @jfortuo Ouch. I knew that there was demolition in progress, but didn't think the job would be done so soon. Is there anything left of the base? Radar tower? Barracks? Dining hall?

  • How about more video light next time.

  • this is really cool. Always wanted to explore abandoned military sites. Can u send me the directions via email to check it out. Thank you.

  • KIWI MONSTER

  • is this ur job or do u and ur friends do this for fun.

  • if you fix it up your ready for a nuclear strike

  • this wer u grow da weedz

  • when they decommission a bunker they just don't block it with boulders its because they det the bunker that's why so many people say there unsafe to be in because the unstable

  • @SilentRevolver25 Ah. This one seems well-built, though. But I can understand why these places often get filled-in once abandoned.

  • hello, thank you for posting all of this footage, i am a san diego resident myself and i would love to go hiking about around this area and the sycamore test area as well but i am at a dead end for finding any directions, if you would kindly e-mail me i would very much appreciate it!

    heinichenmatthew@yahoo.com

  • @619husoldier619 Hi. You're welcome. I'll send you an email shortly.

  • Home of boomers

  • On KUSI, turk was reporting they were tearing the base down, but haven't found the underground bunker yet. Do not reveal it to anyone until after the site has been done away with.

  • @ASAManifesto The USFS surly knows where the bunker is - even though Turko couldn't find it. The bunker and the rest of the upper base / topside will remain for at least a few more years. There's only enough money to demolish the lower base at this time.

  • why did people abaondon this idea? there are still nukes in the world! we think they will never be used!? we should revamp all these sites up.

  • OMFG =_= those people scared the crap out of me hahaha i though they were like ghosts or something hahah

  • @stillfly122 LOL. Glad you enjoyed it. :-)

  • if you think some bad people are living in one, cover up the air vents until they have to come out. lol

  • at 3:30 it sounds exactly like fallout 3 when you open or close a vault door

  • @JRhalo14 :-)

  • holy shit at 3:57 it says "we couldnt have saved them" ........ its kinda hits u......i think that an ex servicemen wrote that (one who was stationed somewhere like here)

  • @Drstrangelovefan1 Yeah. Eerie thought, isn't it?

  • BREATHING ALL THE LEAD PAINT

  • @swoosh50 Occasional exposure is harmless - same with _occasionally_ smoking a cigarette. Repeated exposure (to lead dust or tobacco smoke) is a different story, of course.

  • are you gonna go again or has it been torn down

  • @Zerocool818 The bomb shelter is still here - along with the rest of the building at the upper base. Only the lower base (mess hall, barracks, admin building, etc) is currently slated for demolition.

  • @slworking2 can you send me the exact location, i might go during summer to check it out i love stuff like this

  • Your cameraman sucks. You can't see anything for like half of the video.....

  • @whitewolfanton Ahhh... it was pitch dark in here. And I shot this with a flashlight and and camera phone. If you wanna send me some professional equipment free of charge, I'd be glad to re-shoot. :-)

  • It would SUCK if your lights went out

  • @Arashieatssweets You're telling me!

  • What do you do in case of fallout? Put it back in and take shorter strokes.

  • @buffedbob Har har har. :D

  • Back in 2000 a buddy at work told me about a shelter of sorts they found on Miramar when they were riding. They went in crossed, a huge pit on a board and came to a door with a glow coming from underneath it. Suddenly they heard a loud screeching scream and boogied out of it. Said it was one of the scariest things he has ever experienced.

  • @boogerchamp Damn. Scary, indeed.

  • @boogerchamp Sounds like you found some Underground facility, Intirigation center ? or could it be it be Division !!! :) (for all those Nikita fans)

  • @boogerchamp did your buddy tell you what color the glow was and where it is this shelter? I'm not familiar with Miramar. Your comment scared me lol

  • They sealed our bomb shelter in 51, and when we went down there, everything, and I mean everything was still in pristine but dusty condition, it was awesome

  • @Ravager134 Very cool. Here in So Cal, the scrappers and vandals manage to quickly destroy any abandoned sites. As for me, I only take pictures.

  • The only reason they built these bomb shelters was because they thought there was going to be a nuclear war.. until German surrendered and the Russian didn't want to fight with the U.S.. I doubt it wouldn't be long until it actually happens. When the U.S fucks with Russia or China, there will be a nuclear war.

  • @JvPaVp Indeed. And the whole reason for this base was to monitor the radar for incoming aerial attacks. As for China, the USA is helping to fund China's military every time we import products manufactured there.

  • Who the hell would take the breakers? They are 50 years old. If i went into a shelter like this one, the breakers would be the last thing I'd take. Stuff like signs or filled Civil Defense boxes are what rake in alot of money.

  • @jonvincent12 I wouldn't bother with the breakers, either, but scrappers like to take anything that has even the slightest value. I've seen where scrappers have broken through cinder block walls to rip out copper pipes. Anyways, yeah, the signs and boxes are cool. As a general rule, I honestly don't take anything from the abandoned buildings I explore - despite how tempting it may be to do so. :-)

  • who do i need to go .to building underground bunker for me

  • @berto1109m I don't know off the top of my head, but there ARE people that will build you a "panic room" if you have the money to spend.

  • @berto1109m 1 you are too poor 2 a company

  • withppppp

  • If this was Goldeneye for Nintendo 64, you would win the "Where's the flashlight?" award.

  • can you send me the coordinates for this and the admin building?

  • That noise that the hatch was making was awesome. If I was you, I seriously would have moved those rocks. Think about what could be on the other side, even if it's empty.

  • @stormking14 Thanks man. As for the rocks, I later realized that they were put there so that a slab could be poured for a modern FAA radar dome up above. The FAA radar is currently active. Post 9/11, we did not want do get too close to the FAA radar and set up some seismic sensors or something. :-)

  • why does that guy talk like he is biting his tongue? Its annoying. but kool vid.

  • @winnryautomail Thanks. As for the voice, sound echos when one is talking inside a metal tunnel as we are doing here. :-)

  • Like were the he'll did u find this like u have to tell mr all about it man like this is awsome like if u can just shoot me an e-mail awsome

  • @pstringer2012 This is on top of Mount Laguna in San Diego County. I'll send you a PM with the exact location.

  • Awesome place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @robertkalisz Hell yeah. One of the best abandoned sites in San Diego!

  • love how it cuts out when he says "Ok im just gonna get a shot up here first"

  • @ALX753 :D

  • I kept wanting to see a CGI monster jump at the camera, blair witch style, to no avail.

  • @baronofhawkland Hehehehe. I should maybe add something like that in the next time I do a vid of this place. :-D

  • well what state is this in if its a days drive from here ill be going to see it soon

  • @waylan3 This is in San Diego County, CA. Will send you directions.

  • im sure it was decomisened a long time ago but i meant is it still open for a tour if you know what i mean

  • waylan3: Oh.... I haven't been up to explore the base since September 24, 2009. I haven't heard of any demolition/filling-in working actually beginning... yet.

  • where was this filmed at in what state did it get torn down

  • waylan3: This was filmed atop Mount Laguna in San Diego County. The structures here are still intact, but demolition work is scheduled to begin sometime this year. :-(

  • If you want the exact location, send me a message.

  • Oh...this base was decommissioned shortly after the Cold War ended in the 80's.

  • what does the sign at 3:59 say?

  • YooDragon: "We couldn't save them" - just a tag, actually.

  • is this in colordo if it is i use to live in this base

  • This is in San Diego, CA.

  • no matter where it is, there are many of them this is a real aficionado sample they are reak, please look into it, jesse ventura the governor/wrestler/navy seal made a show for 2012 conspiracy, Look into how many bunkers are being built and from the mouth of the contractor...no bullshit no bias... the real deal my amigos. please people its really late already we need to save ourselves

  • Hopefully the whole 2012 thing will turn out to be over-hyped - just like the whole Y2K thing.

  • @slworking2 god and jesus said in the bible no noe will knwo when the world will end which i belive. basically 2012 is BULLSHIT.

  • jubjubcat: Amen to that.

  • @slworking2 typo fix: * know

    *know

  • @slworking2 yea brother

  • @alexvidmaster who would want to live underground for years id rather die in a nuclear attack.you would have the same people to talk to and I bet the people in a fallout shelter would kill themselves anyway, its like being in solitary confinement till supplies run out.Screw that

  • wow how did you get in there?

  • The base itself is wide open. Only recently was the access tunnel to this shelter cut open, however. The hatch had previously been welded shut. I'm guessing somebody went up there with a cutting torch recently.

  • why not bring some coleman lanterns and really light tose places up to see, -- places like that shouldn't go to waste. they c an be museums or housing for homeless. taxpayers spent a lot of money to build them in the first place

  • Finders Keepers. As long as its being used and enjoyed by the likes who needs/appreciates them, I could not be happier. However, It may be "recommissioned" soon. As of late the DoD is appropriating them back via eminent domain. I am curious as to why, and why at this time

    ..X..

  • who told you that?

  • @Xonegod What's "eminent domain"?

As for me, I'd want to buy the site, have some daylaborers and a professional demolition/asbestos advisor clean the shelter out and set it up as a survival refuge for me, my fam. and a few friends.

  • @hrdKnox2000. Eminent Domain: in short the Government takes your rightful property for what ever use they see fit, oftentimes for cents on the dollar. Wikipedia it, its much too complicated to explain further in 500 characters or less.

As to the second part of your comment: I would suggest looking into "How YOU Can Build Underground," or companies that specialize on that area like I did. Whats the use of a bunker if everyone knows its there when the SHTR? Most decom Bunkers are known.

    ..X..

  • @Xonegod Yeah, but if it's decom'd, why waste a missile or a bomb on it? I'm looking into different underground options. I will say that it's a VERY expensive undertaking and you better be committed to making it happen, unless you just have a crap load of money to toss around. Have YOU built anything underground yet?

  • @hrdKnox2000 your first question seems you are referring that the Gov'nt would bomb your decom'd place, its possible, However, I meant ALSO your neighbors might want IN, by force.

Building underground CAN be inexpensive if you have the right mind set and knowledge. As in, it does NOT come in a box, overnight. It does take dedication, not necessarily A lot money.

Yes, I have. ^_^ suggest all to do the same... better safe than sorry.

    ..X..

  • @Xonegod That's really cool! I agree, better safe than sorry. I'm trying to save money to build one myself. I have a good hill on my property in the country to build into. The most expensive part, to me, is the air filter and the blast doors. How much did your shelter cost? What type of materials did you use?

  • fuck the blast dooors build a samll hole for entrance to underground and 2 exit points in case one is demolished and you'll be fine as long as u pack some power tools.. underground... i wish people will just wake up man... i swear we might be able to save ourselves.... wether is nibiru, mayas, solar maxima, illuminatis, who cares, is our worls and we are the mayority, there are not enough of them to stop us.

  • @hrdknox2000 Didnt you people see the Twilight Zone where 1 guy has a fallout shelter and it ends by everybody who knew about the shelter rip the doors using any means necessary, and then the radio announcer said it was just a comet or something like that.

  • @TheRalphus666 Yes I did see it. I've watched almost every movie, TV episode, what have you about nuclear war and anything related. I would doubt one's ability to get through a modern blast door on a shelter. That was just a thin piece of sheet metal for a door. I wouldn't have trusted my life to that. Besides, most shelter owners keep it quite that they have a shelter.

  • I agree.

  • Actually, the US Forest Service has plans to begin demolishing this place sometime this year. :-( It would be cool if the DoD took it back, though.

  • Homeless? On an air force base? Lol.

  • former amiliary base. thousands of military bases and missle silos have been abandoned all across the usa. some have been taken over by homeless. some were used as bombing ranges and still are dangerous

  • Oh. So these guys aren't air force?

  • My friends and I here are not military - just urban explorers.

  • Bringing a gas-powered lantern into a place without fresh air is not wise. Nonetheless, I agree that this place should be made into a museum or something - instead of the government spending millions of dollars to demolish it.

  • agreed about the gas lamp, now fuck the museum and instrad of spending 18.7 mills on destroying this shelter make it available for the u and me when 2012 hits... not that it's for sure but not bad to save some of the blue collars. to repowe the place and make oxigen run water included... maybe 35% of the 18.7mill WAke the fuck up people...

  • I hope you know that you are a total idiot, if you beleive in 2012. There has been an enormous number of conspiracy\doomsday theories, aince mankind knows it exists. If the media wouldn't fuck up your mind, with their over-reactions, you would know this is total bullshit. People thought we gonna die when y2k hits, and we're still here. Same went for 2006 with an asteroid collision, and we're still here. So guess what will happen in 2012? Nothing.

  • The whole Y2K "end of the world" thing was, indeed, such a hoax.

  • Yeah, it would be nice if the USFS would just leave this place intact.

  • Yet another kind of place I'd love to visit one day.

Yeah, imaging living back in the time where "mutual destruction" was a military tactic.

Of course I mean no offense, but is your friend revolutionist? He has a Weather Underground//William Ayers look to him.

  • I love this kind of stuff (as you likely noticed).

It's likely not an accident that the the acronym for Mutually Assured Destruct = MAD.

As for my friend, I had long hair like that - until about 5 years ago.

  • Looks Fun!

  • It was.
