Normally, I really dislike signed music by ASL students - it's RARELY any good and most always very embarrassing to watch. This was a nice surprise and change of pace.
I just start to learn ASL recently, am hard of hearing. I can sign some simple words now. I joined a great deaf daing site, ----Deafornot dot c om----, and met some good deaf/HOH friends over there. They help me to learn ASL.
Once a deaf friend of mine described an acip trip with ASL. I wish I had a videotape, I cannot describe how cool it was. perfect use of visual language for visual experience.
n 1997 a girl called lauren was walikng in a forest and then a she just dissapeared no one ever found her untill 2000 when a yoing girl called Mary found her body and markings on her chest saying:I wasnt pretty enough" and now you have read this she will appear in your mirror saying your not pretty enough and kill you. by the way the girl called mary died shortly after To be saved paste this to 5 other videos. THIS TRUEim posting this cuz i dont play with my life

I totally wanted to sign this song every time I listened to it, but I've been beat. I just wish their was more facial expression. 80% of ASL is facial expression! But I still enjoyed it
Take this from a deaf guy: You can't just sign and pause it just because the singer is holding a note. You gotta make yourself more artistic and next time if you say "Look up to the skies and see" Don't just slowly sign it, to be honest, you looked quite stupid. But just saying for later references.
I wouldn't consider this ASL. Remember people that ASL is a whole other language and needs more emotion than spoken languages. But very great video none the less
This production is a good try. Remember, the ASL language uses facial morphemes along with hand shapes, placement and movement. Although I applaud this artistic try, it lacks ASL linquistic expression.
@Tucklicious i think the lack of "speaking with their faces" is intentional?....I know for me when I sign its easy to use facial expressions since when I voice i speak with my face anyway, so I know its hard to not use my face
Amazing interpretation! One of the most original I've ever seen. I can easily say I really, really enjoyed this video. The homage to Queen in the beginning and end was great and the conceptual Signing was out of this world. I would have never thought to gloss it the way y'all did. Excellent work, once again =D
Wow! What an amazingly creative piece of work! I'm a long-time Queen fan and just beginning to learn ASL, so I was very happy to come across your video! I'm so impressed by the lyrical quality of the signing, which was easy for me to understand, and how evocative it was of the musical qualities of the song. The actors, set design, concept, and editing all contributed to this great video as well. (Which I could call a "short film" instead of a video!) It's a brilliant tribute to a great song!
hey! this is a good piece of work!!!
(ASL student; gonna interp live music, etc. work in schools. my Deaf cousin is my inspiration)

There is so much sorrow in this song, but there's none on your faces! So much is said via non-manual markers!
