  • The dude in the video wilds the remote in the wrong way - lol. That's why a lot of gamers complain about the controls to suck. They wild the damn remote the wrong way. This video is prove of how stupid video game players can be. I know that the point of this video is something different, but i couldn't resist to point out that fact.

  • no wii for me :/

i have played mario wii and is was like wtf?? how you can make a game like that o_0

    give me a ps3 :)

    i dont like nintendo :/

  • @lord1995be atleast U have tried

  • ive never really bother with the HD cables for the wii.didnt really see the point -_- at the end of the day,as long as I can see the picture clearly, its good enough for me :)

  • It's not hd, it's ed (enhanced definition).

Oh and btw does anyone else have the option to select hd color spacing when receiving a 480p signal on their tv? Because I did, and the most noticeable difference was that the greens were darker.

  • I have a 360 with all the typical mainstream titles (Black Ops, Reach, etc.)

I still find my Wii 100x more fun..

  • @ksmuffin and thats all that matters

  • se ve peor en "hd"...

  • The graphics aren't different at all. They are the exact same. And this is NOT HD! This is just a Widescreen mode, that doesn't make it HD.

  • @jaredman

I'm actually quite happy w/ my 360 and don't give a damn about the Wii.

  • This is not HD! Hd is every thing over 720i.This is just the same resulotion but in a progressive scan.Wich makes a tiny bit sharper image.

  • @killer3391 You clearly have never played a Playstation 1 O__o

  • @killer3391 well that doesnt matter unluess you just want to watch the games instead of playing them, in that case yes, wii sucks

  • @killer3391 wish my psx had graphics like red steel 2's lol

  • i have a wii and a ps3 there both awesome. i dont really need to compare them. although i think i like my wii i tiny bit better. because i grew up with Nintendo :]

  • i like to play tp on SD better than with 480P,with 480P it looks bluRry specially on the darker scenes, there is a blurry screen bar that is annoying,it doesnt happen when i play the other games in 480P

  • Whats with all the fan hate? Hell I have all 3 and I think they're all great consoles. If you don't like one or the other, don't play it. The rest of the world really could care less.

  • These console debates are so dumb. I have all 3 and Wii is the worst, but it's still awesome. Just buy what you want and have fun with it.

  • i,ve noticed that even some vc games like mario 64 looks much sharper in component mode and looks exactly that great as the demo version, better then on n64

probabely becouse nintendo cheaped down the n64 to 93mhz instead of 400mhz,and instead of using a per pixel scaling they used a cheap blur scaler methode to blur off blockeyness but also blurs down details.

the wii vc version does justice!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 480p is not HD, it's ED.

  • You know My Mom and I just recently got My neighbor and a friend to hook up the Wii component cables last night for the Wii (of course I said thabnk you to them) and even though the Wii isn't truly something that can be HD I have to say the picture still doesn't look half bad, in fact it looks awesome for something that isn't true HD. Lostwinds and Brawl looked really awesome (though I'll still need to play Lostwinds and it's sequel to see how they both look and as much as *2bcont.*

  • *Continued* and as much as the Subspace Emissary's plot in Brawl was poor the cutscenes were actually really well animated but if theres one thing thats bugging Me about them it's these blank black spots that go all around in a box when I play the SSE cutscenes (well there are these hughe blank black spots that make the SSE cutscenes not as wide as the entire TV screen, gameplay sections are full screen though).

  • *Continued* Anyways I did set the Wii's TV resolution to the HDTV settings. And like I said it does look really good for something thats not truly HD and even if the picture has hardly changed I just want My Wii to at least be looking at it's best but not trying to force it to look past something thats beyond what it's capable of.

  • SSBB, zelda and you are missing monster hunter 3 ^^

  • When I bought the Componet cable the colors were a bit more vivid, however the edges were a LOT more jagged. The cable was mostly highlighting the flaws of the graphics.

  • Well, went for it. Bought the Component cables.

Intense difference on a 100" screen. Highly recommended. Could'int B happier. GO BUY. lolz

  • No More Heroes 2 is compatible in HD try comparing that.

  • colour difference is emmence and the sound is a lot better... although it could do with a BIT OF ANTI-ALIASING I WILL ADMIT!

  • Component cables don't do much but make the picture more detailed thats all but also gives great sound and better resolution to the gaming exp. like the ps3.

  • @xXRygar06Xx What? component only carries video, stereo audio is available for both composite and component. Its the same quality.

  • Comment removed

  • @xXRygar06Xx

    Better resolution component on wii?

    nay, just nay. same resolution.

And vidalavila is quite right infact, its the same audio.

  • Debería ser "comparación 480i-480p"

  • 480p isn't HD

  • this game looks great in 480i and 480p

  • I see no difference only that it has more blur effect on HD

  • I just bought a component cable for my Wii and the games I play still look grainy as hell. It's running on a 40' Samsung 720p and when I play game like Twilight Princess and Wii Sports everything still looks grainy, anyone know why?

  • Did you set the wii to output to 480p? (from the default of 480i?) Keep in mind that it doesnt matter how high your tv resolution can by, the max the wii can output is 720x480p.. so sometimes the picture will look a bit grainy, because it has to be stretched across more pixels then what it is being displayed at.

  • @THEBUNGALOWJUNKIEKID

"it has to be stretched across more pixels then what it is being displayed at"

My TV screen doesn't speak in pixels. XD

  • same problem here..

  • The component cable only makes a difference if the game is compatible with it. On the back of the game box it says EDTV/HDTV compatible. Twilight Princess and Wii Sports are not EDTV/HDTV compatible so it doesn't make a difference in resolution using the component cable. Need for Speed: Carbon is EDTV/HDTV compatible and it makes a big difference. One other thing I noticed with the component cable there is no flickering in the video on a plasma tv but using the normal composite cables there was.

  • for the ps3 maniacs: I don't pay a dollar for my games. that's cause my wii is softmodded... oh, wait, you can't do that on your ps3's! :(

  • ya me to.

  • Some people like to support the industry, ps3 owners we don't care about piracy...

  • how noble.

  • sadly we cant

  • my wii is softmodded 2 same with my xbox but thinking about downloading a 45 gb game for ps3 is just crazy but its ok ps3 has great exclusives worth paying for

  • Same with mine :D hahahaa

  • mine is also softmodded haha

  • shut up you ps3 maniacs!

  • jeaous people with their xbox 360 wish they had a wii

  • @jaredman3845 Quite the opposite i believe because yes the Wii has S.S.B.B and Zelda but really it doesn't have any other good games: \

  • @jaredman3845 No, they don't. Anyone with a Xbox 360 or a PS3 only laugh at Wii's with their lousy games and horrible Gamecube graphics.

    HAHA.

  • @finthallon OBJECTION! The Wii actually looks WORSE than the Gamecube.

  • @jaredman3845 I am one of those people lol

  • @jaredman3845

    Got a wii, got a xbox, got a ps3, got a game pc.. #1 game pc, #2 xbox, #3 wii, #4 ps3 (till GT5)

Wii imho is a gamecube with motion controls

  • I had the 360 i have a black Wii and loving it!

  • i mean i Hate the 360 sorry

  • PS3 is also a pain in the ass to program for. In this regard, 360 is the most practical, because the API's are very high quality and the horsepower is adequate, followed by Wii, because the architecture is so simple, and Nintendo provides some very good tools.

But Sony OTOH have done their best to make things as hard as possible for PS3 developers.

To be fair, it's not like the other consoles aren't flawed in different ways. The 360 is anything but reliable and the Wii lacks crucial horsepower.

  • lol, admit it. your happy ps3 has the Wii's gimmick controller now. Better machine for such a great controller....exciting times ahead.

  • remember in the 90s, games then were made for FUN and didnt rely on diff. or f***in picture quality yet its funny how nin. never forgot that, sony soon changed after the ps2 and microsoft...pay for net. WTF but what im saying is that any system that can make parents buy just so their kids can supposidly lose weight i will worship like a god and yknow sega was just like sony with the dreamcast (features and graphics crap) and look how they ended up...but your right exiciteing times coming indeed

  • except few games will properly support it. plus the wii is cheaper so if you want to have the fun lil games liek wii sports / resort etc where graphics arn't crucial then the wii is perfect

  • except the 360 breaks

  • No, that's only if you bought your 360 from China town or from Walmart where they give you used consoles as new ones.

  • Comment removed

  • idont see da difference.....im blind sniffsniff

  • look, son, nobody gives a damn

  • My question is I bought the mad catz universal component cable and I see like a yellow rain is it part of the Hi Definition that looks like that or is the cable that are cheap and i need the original component cable?

  • what game is this?

  • Zelda Twilight princess

  • I thought the Wii doesn't support HD. It has three options. 576i, 480i or 480p. You can get the component (Y,Pb,Pr) cables to get 480P. HD is 720p or more.

  • You can get it with some homebrew hacking.

  • No big difference lik on xbox & ps3. I dont care bout graphics

  • true cuz its all bout the gameplay

  • if you had a wii, you'd know what we meant! nintendo has been around long before sony or microsoft!

  • I have a Wii, and it's the only console I have.

  • then why say "Who really wants to stand up and wave their hands around like an idiot trying to collect coins?"

Coz u do then! And so do I!

  • I play homebrew shit, and sometimes in parties. I don't want to be alone in a house and all of a sudden my friends come over and catch me waving my hands around.

  • You stand up when you play? You're doing it wrong.

  • No, I don't.

  • I stand up when I play.

It's not wrong, just not common ^_^

    We're special!

  • You mean you're special.

  • hey how would you play tennis on wii sit or stand every game is more fun if you stand

  • It is, isn't it XD

  • The general population is obese and enjoy their comfy sofas.

  • yep it was a card company in the 1900's.

  • nintendo arent gona do blueray, heck they arent even gona do hd. if they do japan only. where do ya get ur shit from, make sure its fact not speculation. as for ur opinion, its sucks

  • hahaah! "this is fun!" *shakes controller up and down*

  • who cares, it ws nintendo who decided not to run wii on hd. thy considered an efficient cost effective product to produce and to cater for customers. how many people have a puss3 with hdtv? old grandads have only jus got used to dvd, and now fony brought out bluray, too expensive. thy can make new technology every other day without regards to customer, tomorows tech will be electronic waste, blame companies like this for things like recession.

  • Exactly, that's why Sony temporarily downed the PS1/PS2 compatabilty on current models.

  • Your just mad cause you lousy xbox probably over heated and died on you, and I bet you can't affort another one...so stop crying about this bullshit ans step outside you selfish moron.

  • Having progressive scan is a big difference in games that have a lot of movement going because when only every other line is being refreshed at a time the image gets blurry when things are moving fast.

That´s why 720p looks alot better in a racing game then 1080i but 1080i will look alot better with still images.

  • That's very correct.

  • OMFG..you either don't have an HDTV or the one you have is way too small.

    Go get your eyes calibrated.

  • refer to any tech site/office if you need this confirmed by specialists.

  • I hear that if your tv is smaller than 50" that does't matter...I have a 72" DLP TV...and 720 looks just like SD..1080i looks great and 1080p looks stunning

  • Nice mane i have a 50in plasma =)

hoping to get those HD cables

  • Holy crap 72" !!!

I´m pretty sure that close to 90% of people have under 50" . 32" seems to be most common but it feels more common to go into a house with under 32" then over(unless maybe if you live in upper class neighborhood).

Just guessing tho, haven´t seen any sales figures.

  • well...watching videos in here, the only ppl I have seen with 32" tv are single guys or kids that still live at home, many of those rather get a computer monitors for their gaming needs..

My point was that if you look at and average 32" to 50" plasma or lcd you can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080i..

I've seen lots of comments stating that so...in my case Im a big screen lover...that's all. :P

  • We have a 62" LCD. We got it before 1080p became popular, so it's a 720p, but it still looks great. After this TV gets old, we're probably going to get a 70+" 1080p 3D Ready Plasma, pretty nice. But, that'll be a while, so I just wish we at least had 1080p right now, with the 62 inches. Oh well...

  • I still don't really understand why you need to chase after perfect graphics when you can have a system that at is significantly more stimulating/involving to use.

  • Its true, lol Wiiboys not acknowledging the fact. 480p isn't HD. Wii still looks pixelated on 480p on HDTV, compared to true HD, 720p from PS3 and Xbox 360(Watch how many thumbs down I get..but its the truth).

  • You're right about 480p. It's ED not HD.

However, you are wrong about PS3 and 360 being HD. HD is 1080, not 720.

  • 720p is HD, and 1080p is FullHD. To be considered HD, the picture must have a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. Right now, the PS3 and 360 are not powerful console enough to give us true FullHD. Even if it's written "1080p" on the back of the box, It's a 720p upscaled to perfectly fit a 1080p HDTV.The only exeption, 2D games like on PS Store and Xbox market are not too must demanding on the console so can be displayed in ture 1080p. in 4-5 years or so, Next Gen consoles will give us true HD!

  • @params7 720p isn't true HD, and consoles doesn't even support full HD (1080p) get your facts right, but keep on bashing wiifags.

  • @params7 On this comment you said you would get thumbs down... but you got eleven thumbs up! One of them is coming from me, an EX Nintendo fanboy!

  • @1JayCutlerFan1 STFU u faggot

just go play with your cheap little ps3 and 360 piece of crap games lol

i bet your just some fat-ass anyways who weighs a ton thst why you stick to your games where you just sit down on the couch lol

  • @ryooky4 I'm sorry you got butthurt because I acknowledge the FACT that the PS3 and xBox 360 are graphically SUPERIOR, but I'm thinking you're 14 years old and you wouldn't have the guts to talk to me like that face to face.

The wii, on a good television with component cables and a game like Red Steel 2 looks good, but it can't compare to the best graphics seen on the PS3. Nuff said.

  • @params7 and with the hdmi cable on xbox, i think its 1080p

  • 480p isnt HD..

  • Yea, Nintendo is making a WiiHD. That'll be cool, cause recently I got a Widescreen HD LCD TV!!

  • the wii is NOT capable of generating hd,it atleast could generate 480p,maybe it could do in the near future by updating new firmware but it will offer alot op power to do that, so maybe you could see the menu,s in fullhd, but not the entire game.

  • so whats so bad 480p?i tried on a LCD tv with the normal cables(YellowWitheRed)and looks terrible, very blury so if i get thoes cables(blue, green, red)will it look better?cus this people on the comments dont think so and im new at this, and i need help please!

  • it will improve things alot, its not an incredible difrence but way sharper and more vibrant , make sure to change the tv settings in the wii menu or you wont benafit from the better quality

  • well i just try it but here some things i notice, theres somo kind of delay on both button and pointing,on brawl i notice alot of like lines going down each time a character moved but it does look better on the pikmin stage(more notice on NES games and soul calibur2)so should i try a smaller tv?will that improve cus yeah i try it on a 38 inch HDTV

  • a few things you can try first as it should be almost crisp and clear

    1. set your wii to 4:3 not widescreen even if tv is wide screen

    2. check component cables are properly connected and that the audio red plug isnt swaped with the red visual plug as this will cause lines and things onscreen when sound is heard.

i had my wii set to widescreen and when playing fast games there was like trails and shadows at times but just mess with the settings untill it improves ot on another tv

  • ok thanks man!

  • Moron, this game does not have 480p mode. Not even 60hz. What your seeing here is pure RGB quality. Compare games with 480p like Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3, then upload a comparison

  • oh and improved wiimote and nunchuck

(will get other names too off course)

like more accelerometers and it will have improved bluetooth (both wii and wiimote)

and bluetooth class 1 off course.

but this time there will be verification between the 2 so no more wiimote such with WII 2.:(

also i think wii 2 will support the older games like ps3 does with ps2 and ps1.

so it will support wii and GC games.

oh and yeah speaker will be improved,

    rumble will be improved(both nunchuck/wiimote)

  • yes it's true that wiiHD is coming.

but its not in 2012 but in 2011

because nintendo thinks the wii won't hold it till 2012 because the ps3 and the production of the system and games itself is becoming cheaper and cheaper (slighly)

and it will not be called wiiHD

    but probly just WII 2

but it will be definetly blueray and will have HDD support.

and WIRELESS N DRAFT and both the normal wifi.

oh and HDMI and USB and no more SD because of the pirating in homebrew,

    better cheat/copyprotection

  • Noo I love Homebrew!!! Well Hackers will just find a way around that like always, Maybe give us a program and we burn it on a disk and install it =)

  • will u have 2 buy another wii r get a HD tv

  • To tell you the truth I think you are just relying on rumors. First of all the wii is supposed to be marketed as the cost friendly console so why would the company start putting blue-ray because that just ups the cost of a wii almost 100 dollars. I understand HD but dont go a little over yourself. Do you have a wii or are you just mad that you didnt get one while it was still going strong and are trying to look to the bright side of things?

  • are some people retarded, twilight princess doesnt have edtv/hdtv compatibiltity, it will work but u wont notice a difference look on the back of the game. but games like red steel, excite truck, cod5... they do its only there u will see 480p res, no offence

  • will my 1080i TV work with the 480p cables? My TV has component slots and is 46 inches Samsung, so I know the difference will be good, but I dont even know if 1080i can play 480p, (since its pregressive scan and all)

  • Actually the Wii games look better w/ component cables on tv's w/ 32in's or more. you see the the difference more.

  • Hey I think I have the exact same TV as you have!!

  • wii hd 2011, makes you wonder what a new zelda game will look like

  • it will look like ur mom

  • lol

  • lol

  • where did you get that news, i've never heard of it, and i check the ign, officialnintendomagazine and Gt regually, and I havn't heard that before.. probably just a rumour.

  • what the zelda game or a new wii?

  • The new wii, i've never heard of a "wiiHD" where did you hear it, what evidence is there that it actually exists?

  • peoples brain

  • What?

  • There also making a new F-Zero game for the Wii.

    That'll look mad on HD!

  • 480p is like beginner HD ( A.K.A EDTV)...

    720p is intermediate... and...

    1080p is advanced!!!

  • 480p is not beginner HD. it's just EDTV, enhanced definition tv

  • ok. I won't say no, that might just start a war and I'm not relly into internet wars.

  • no war there is only one solution. this is nothing to war over!

    480 * 2 = 960... you said 1080 was "double 480", 1080/2 = 540.

    discuss?

  • *Copy paste*

ok. I won't say no, that might just start a war and I'm not relly into internet wars. Where did I say 1080 is double 480?

  • retARD

  • 3 reasons your a retard

    1. You said "retARD" how lame is that

    2. Cause your mother is a "retARD"

    and

    3. You replied to a comment on the 3rd page "retARD", no life much?

Can't wait to see your retARD reply

  • "3 reasons your a retard"

Says the man that couldn't even spell "you're".

Sorry, but that IS pretty funny.

  • I know it wouldve been a retARD reply

  • The Wii doesn't do HD you retard

  • there will be a new model in 2012 called Wii HD..it's wii with better processors and shit. You guys prob herded about it on xplay and e3 right?

  • the way I see it, the Wii is already fairly kicking Sony and MS ass and thats because theyre focusing on controls and regaining GameCube losses. NOW the next Nintendo system will have PS3 technology or even better than PS4 technology because theyll be able to focus on power

  • will my 1080i TV work with the 480p cables? My TV has component slots and is 46 inches Samsung, so I know the difference will be good, but I dont even know if 1080i can play 480p, (since its pregressive scan and all)

  • 1080i TV can display a 480p resolution. in general TVs can display any resolution lower than their native resolution.

  • do you experience any lag in 480p?

  • the wii is not in hd! the only difference is that standard is 600x480 and the widescreen is 854x480 (noticed i didn't say hd lol)

  • its not funny if u have to explain it

  • Its not, but 480p is the Wii's pseudo-HD mode as it gives a progressive scan of the SD picture

  • Well not much of a difference. Thats no suprise because you are recording offscreen with some crappy camera or something.

  • i find that its like exacly the same

  • nintendo is bring out an hd wiii

  • The wii does not do HD. It will do 480P but 480P is nowhere close to HD resolutions.

  • Which is why Nintendo will be releasing the Wii HD in a couple of years.

I forsee deja vu of Sep. 21, 2006.

  • i can't tell any difference from this video. but i can tell that's probably because the video itself is such bad quality that that the HD isn't showing up like it's supposed to this video is pointless. i just know the the wii is going to have better graphics even by a little bit with the HD cables and an HDTV so i'm going to get those HD component cables when i finally get enough money to buy my HDTV.

  • The Wii uses component cables and only uses a resolution of 480P. 480P is not HD.

  • it actually is 480p is half hd and 1080p is full

  • funny how double 480 is 960..

  • Wii is just as good a s the other 2 systems, I'm not a fanboy either I own all 3 consoles. I just play what games are fun, consoles have nothing to do with it.

  • what about exclusives

  • no much of a difference

  • i wanna get HD cables for my Wii to look better on my new TV, but should i get the official Wii HD cables, or the 3rd party brand?

  • p'robly the same, just get whats cheapest.

  • ppl stop fighting ova the 3 systems ps3 xbox 360 and get em all
