I wonder if this Dr. Baron-Cohen is related with the actor Sasha Baron-Cohen (Borat and Bruno)...they kinda look and sound alike. Tombs up if you agree.
@aissaeu They are indeed related, in fact they are cousins. He was part of a documentary on various aspects of the brain here in Norway, and it was mentioned as a fun fact.
Whilst all these may seem abit implausible, another theory that I provide is the possibility of neurons cloning themselves upon the panic trigger being activated. (during the blow on the head) As neurons thought they might be destroyed upon the impact, they might have replicated copies of themselves to its surrounding areas. Note that the brain has estimated one million, million brain cells according to Sir Charles Sherrington. Therefore, more "cloned" neurons means greater recall. its simple!
Another possibility is that the blow on his head causes all his neurons to become in an excited state (somewhat like a frenzy) and thereby more readily in transmitting information upon a stimuli (when he thinks of something such as a specific date). In another words, the re-awakening of the dormant part of his neurons.
A technology that can do away with mnemnoic techniques just by simply hitting the brain hard at the right spot and at the right angle with an object causing the fusion of the brain wave patterns. This sounds viable for the near future.
haha. well. no wikipedia was involved... also, since u r at it..just remember to keep ur hippocampus (a component of ur brain) undamaged.. u still need that for the ability to recall information.
From my perspective, the blow must have caused the wave patterns of the brains to be integrated, infused and combined together to enable the easier recall of information. As observed within normal people with an average brain, we use images and association to create two or more wave patterns in order to enhance our recall of information. wow. This could well be a breakthrough if the use of technology is being employed.
