Aside from being hella jealous of your collection...you just make me SMILE. Props for letting that passion shine through <3

i grew up listening and admiring the man. he was and will always be a man to admire.he was so loving for mankind. he wanted peace and love more then almost anything.
to me he was an angel who entertained so many people. i will never forget the king of pop. love always MJ.i can see you now up tjhere dancing for god himself. he deserves heaven as much and if not more then most. may god bless MJ
Hi I'm from Dubai and I really don't know how could be my childhood memories with out Michael Jackson and when he dies I really felt that important part of my life die with him , he was the music world to me and he is not the king of pop only he is the king of the music the king of dance the king of performance , we love MJ for ever and ever.
I like your style!! Thanks for this vid. Lovin your little single 45's with little expressions you pulled whilst holding them up! Absolutely respect and love for Michael Jackson. Good job Funktuall! xxx
"Speed Demon" from BAD is my number 10!!...Listen to it with headphones and you can actually hear the motorcycle engine move throughout your head, just as if it was running through the room you are in...Bruce Swedien (the engineer) is amazing and made Michael come even more alive...a technical marvel!!
for #10 i wanna say Human Nature because the vocals are pretty sick even though all his songs had sick vocals i just think this one sticks out the most but just my opinion
I think this is a beautiful and understated tribute. It is obvious that there is a deeper need to express oneself here. I'm touched and probably feel somewhat the same...numb. Our lives can be affected by giants of industry in a good way, Michael did this. His Music is undeniably connected to our memories. Universal Blessings.
I completely disagree. Funktual is a very well schooled and experienced historian of music. Not just hip hop, not just pop, but rock but other genres, too. His appreciation for music is made clear through his "best samples" series. I'm not sure how big of a MJ fan he is, but I do know one thing, he is not the type of person to superficially gloat about something as serious as MJ passing.
and strange story too, the day he died, i was on a trip from michigan to illinois to see the rock the bells tour and drove through Gary, IN on the way. And I'm not sure but I could have been in that city around the same time that he died.
You know, I never thought I'd *truly* be sad over Michael Jackson's death, or any celebrity for that matter. His death didn't really hit me till 2 days ago. Funny, that's the exact same way I was when a friend of mine died. Didn't actually cry til 3 days later. Anyway, I truly miss Michael. The media destroyed that man. I just wish he would've gotten ONE last chance to do what he loved most: performing!
I know he got a BAD rap... but his music will live on forever!!!! You showed his memory the respect it deserves... whats crazy is I remember having each of those records a few times over... they kept getting stolen!!! RIP
1. Beat It 2. Rock With You 3. Don't Stop til You Get Enough 4. PYT 5. Human Nature 6. Billie Jean 7. Wanna Be Startin Somethin 8. I Want You Back 9. I Can't Help It 10. Say Say Say (with McCartney) I know half my list is from Thriller, but hey, it's the best selling album ever for a reason.
Thank you , Thank you You are the coolest dude out here bro thanks for telling this young kids that michael was the man ...Thanks man I havent heard this in 24 hours ....he was for all races of men we come together because of his music
Thank you for doing this... I listened to the Freddie Mercury version tonight and then found this... You have an amazing collection, you have part of his history to enjoy forever, the ultimate entertainer has shocked us by going to soon but it's nice to see people enjoying his music again... even if it a little too late :(
#10 Smooth Criminal. The real version off thriller.
i won tickets on the radio to see him in '88 or '89 but he was sick or something so the show it was canceled. i had a date with a girl way out of my league because of those tickets. when i told her they canceled the show she canceled the date. WTF?!?!? Ah well. I saw her a few years later. she ended up getting fat and pumping out kids.
Whatever you thought of his personal life, there is no doubt that the guy was a true superstar. How many people do not know the bass line to billie jean etc...? How many stayed up late to watch the premier of thriller on channel 4 in the uk? How hyped was it? What a shock and what a loss...RIP
Funny, I was thinking the same. In Germany it obviously wasn't Channel 4, but I was allowed to stay awake extra long for a certain video-clip-show - man, the video was scary, but appealing at the same time. I was 7 at that time.
I think MJs is quite shocking for a lot of people, because he somehow accompanied your whole life, especially for those, who are sometimes referred to as the 'MTV generation'. I've never been a hardcore-fan of his, but I do have a lot of his albums and I liked them.
I think a lot of his work and his persona is somehow 'collective memory'. Even my father, who is not that much into this particular musical style, was shocked when he heard the news.
Sadly enough, I never was on one of his tours, I merely saw an impersonator live back in the 80s.
You are a true fan and I must say you have great taste. I haven't heard this song in years. Thank you for your post. Michael was a genius and his music will live through us forever.
Funkman, I understand where you're coming from & my heart is with you & all the rest of his fans who loved him so much.
May he find peace whereever he is.
I know I speak for a lot of people when I ask that you post a video about what you're feeling right now & everything that M.J. meant to you. It would really mean a lot.
Check out the tune Centipede. He wrote it for his sister Rebbie Jackson back in '84. He also produced and sang background. It was a big club hit back in the day.
U a badd mofo for having all the vinyl versions! I have all the cd's and iTunes dl's but I don't have the lp's anymore! Watch U know bout that Thriller album cover wit the baby tiger in it when U opened it!!
I'm 48 so Micheal and The Jackson Five have been a big part of the soundtrack of my life.
I still have the Jackson Five's Greatest Hits with the picture frame my uncle and aunt bought me when I was 11. I went to see the movie Ben just to hear the song and rode my bike a few miles to the px on base to buy the single, I Wanna Be Where You Are. I was lucky to see him on the BAD Tour. Micheal never gave less than 110 percent to his fans. He'll be missed but his legacy will live on forever.
hes still alive... like elvis... he probably faked his death, and pay off a bunch-a people...lol... heres hoping
but i hope people dont do what they did to elvis, and make a shit remake or one of his songs as a "tribute"...or make a new song under his name, heres more hoping
RIP man, after the shit society gave you about sexual allogations and all, you definatly deserve some peace
3:52 Wow talk about foreshadowing! This is an amazing track. Thanks for sharing this. MIcheal will live on in the hearts of his millions of fans! RIP MIKE!

Ten MJ memories: 10. 7 years old & Dad wakes me up on his way to work tellin' me MJ burned his hair. 9. Aunt Jackie coming home with the Thriller tape 8. Mom buyin' me the BEN soundtrack. 7. Watchin' Motown 25 with Mom & Dad 8. Watchin' the AMAs & MJ's trying to stuff mad awards under his chair. 6. Rockin' the Beat It jacket. 5. Black or White on the screen @ a dance for the 1st time. 4. The Oprah interview 3. Bein scared 2 death of Thriller 2. Loggin' on to CNN today 1.________
Not because it was a sensation, as it wasn't at the time, but just because it was such a great song! I remember what a phenomenom he was, and I truly can't imagine anything like that today. Whatever he did in his later years, no one can take away what he did in his prime... RIP. Thanks for posting. Woodsy
I've deffinately become a fan my man... When I first heard just a few hours ago, I thought, oh well. Does it really matter that much. I emediately knew the media would have a field day with this one, but other than that, who cares? Just a few minutes later though I started thinking about it, and it really started setting in. Billie Jean was one of those songs that I actually remember hearing for the first time.
Aside from being hella jealous of your collection...you just make me SMILE. I watched your "Jam On It" video and just LAUGHED and LAUGHED because that's EXACTLYYYY what I do when I put on the jams I grew up with! (EXACTLY!) I love your personality and the passion for music. I know what to say. WHY?!
troysson81 2 years ago
