He lit the concert with his Dabari Raag and you should have the seen the crowd and their reaction. There was a recording going on at the time ... I wonder if an accompanist is doing the gamaks? Excuse me its just that I have never heard him sing classical to this level and he never does this much gamak in any of his songs I have heard, even when there is scope.

OK, having established that, first I am not your friend. I know that jagjit is not a classical singer and my comment had nothing to do with jagjit. I commented that if one wants to hear a gharanedar composition like Nazare karam in Darbari, one should listen to singers who sing Khayal for living. I listed some names of Khayal Singers, (I can easily add 25 more and there will be some who will be left out). So, what is your point.
Singers are humble enough to rate elders higher than themselves. For me Jagjit Singh Sahib is way ahead than others. Others are good in their ways but Jagjit Singh Sahib's a notch ahead.
