Have you thought about getting a GoPro HD Hero camera to record your vids? my dad got one for scuba diving and it looks amazing...i believe it's light enough that you could fly with it no problem...the question is would the wrist mount stay on or would you need to get a special mount

The most ultimate thing ever would be if a plane would come stock with a good camera and transmitter inside the cockpit, and a decent-sized LCD display on the controller. You could do anything, even outside your own vision.

The plane is the HET 70mm F-18. Power is a Wemo Minifan, HET 2W-20 on a 4S 3700. No vids soon as this particular model had an unfortunate meeting with its expiration date! Have a new one still in box the but no time to build. Hopefully by spring. It was a hoot to fly!

Best vid out there. Do have an opinion on the camera from Hobby Lobby, seems kind of big to mount. Also, is that the stock motor, fan, esc & 4 cells? I currently fly a 3 cell F16. Looking for something faster would you recommend the HET F18. Trying to avoid foam fuse and wings, want something sturdier. Smooth flying, keep the vids coming. Thanks.

I just bought the HL camera myself but haven't used it. It's bigger than EDVR but recording time is far better and the lens swivels so it can be mounted flat. Also controlling it from the rx is a big plus. I highly reccomend the HET F18 with the HET 2W-20 on 4S. Lots of fun. The one in this vid is now toast but I have another NIB to be built this winter. More vids coming when it warms up!

If you look at the stills at the end of the video there is a close up of the mount. Cobbled together from scraps around the shop including 1/64 ply, balsa, aluminum and velcro. It's important to have a solid mount to minimize vibration.

Finally a R/C plane video with a decent quality camera mounted facing forward and without excessive vibration! Also great that you can see the nose of the plane and the canopy, so you can see which direction it's pointed. Very nice!

I agree with the anti-music comment (and I'm a musician)When I watch rc video's, it's because I want to know what the aircraft is like, sound and all. I find the music detracts from whatever realism would have been there without it.

I agree to a point. If you listen carefully you can hear the EDF screaming in the background. It is set at about 10% of the volume from the raw video. There is NO other sound as the camera mic is less that 4 inches from the fan. If you want to listen to 4 minutes of high pitched, ear splitting, screaming EDF, be my guest. I find it far more annoying than a little music.

I'd say it's just a case of "different strokes for different folks.

I use YouTube as a tool to research whatever plane that i think i want.

Watching and hearing them gives me a sense of their reality. Other sounds added later dulls the experience for me.

As for ear splitting sound from the motor, I turn it down to a comfortable level.

Heh, that was pretty nice, but i prefer airplane models that fly slow (just a 35 km/h for example)cause (as you can see in the vid) a high speed airplne can have problems with landing, and if it have a battery that can fly only 5 mins, and you have problem with landing it can crash and then you can buy 1 new but its expensive!

Were you goin WOT? My vids from my stryker seem faster. Might be an illusion though. The stryker claims 80MPH but that is not right, I would say 45mph straight on, maybe 70-75 in a dead dive. How fast do you claim for this plane?

Respectable sources put this plane and power system at around 100mph WITHOUT the camera. With the camera I doubt it hits 80mph. Lots of drag added by camera and mount.
