@McYel...it's not about an earthly freedom...they are singing about a freedom NO man can destroy...it's feedom from sin and sickness and poverty...God made us free and we are FREE INDEED!! Glory to Our Amazing God!!
i miss em all ....they should travel like this ...they we're and are all amazing ...i miss marsh if he had stayed i would have missed mark ...i miss russ taff...i got my wish getting wes and david side by side they're great
I was only saved a year ago which measn that by the time i discovered these guys some of tham have already went home which dissapoints me a bit but it doesnt bother me because i know that we will have an eternity to sing together!
I Truly miss these guys being together. WHAT AWESOME voices.
BUT I do know that to sing like this day in and day out takes a toll on the voice and can totally understand different singers being introduced into the group over the years.
Without any doubt , they are the BEST Gaither and we all know it. They sing in ONE voice, how I miss them. Saying that, this song is why America is America, our God given Natural right to be free..thank you for posting this..
I was at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville Ky 4 days after 9/11 and saw the Gaither Vocal Band do this song with twenty thousand people on their feet and every hand raised praising God. Awesome and amazing to be a part of that.
I had forgotten this song until I watched the Gaithers Fourth of July Celebration on TV last night. What a beautiful song.
The last I saw posted by Bill Gaither was that Guy just needed a break, suggested by Bill. Guy had toured constantly since 1992 without a break (according to the report I read, not sure just how credible that is but whatever) and that he needed to renew himself and spend some family time. Hope he will be back.
I imagine Jesus looks like Gun Penrod - I love his long beautiful hair. This is also my favorite line-up singer in GVB. Each one of these four singers are amazing in ther own way - Bill, Mark. Guy and David - I love them so.
Guy actually went solo, the GVH is made up of Mark, Bill, Michael English, David Phelps and Wes! :) That is going to be a dynamic group. I will miss Guy and Marshall though :(
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
it would be a dynamic group ..however i wish Bill would just manage the group and hire a talented bass singer say like lee young !!! Bill's voice is not good enough now
maybe, but the bass is decent enough for the kind of music they sing - not exactly the same as signature sound or others alike - besides you get the songwriting of Gaither and all those related to him. Not a bad deal....:)
David Phelps is the best vocalist I have ever heard in my entire life!!!! Thank You David for leading me to gospel music!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!! AND EVERYONE WATCHING THIS VIDEO!!!
please "enlighten" all of us where it says in Scriptures where it says its "wrong" to have long hair? If that is the case, are all women "wrong" because they have long hair, or does that pertain to men? If it does pertain to men, how long is too long? Don't go spouting off the passage of Scripture where it says that it is a shame for a man to have long hair, if your basing your belief off of that, if that is your personal preference, then keep your comments to yourself.
Is it the situation in the church of the Corinthians or is jt forbidden by Scripture? I think that Paul wrote it for the local church and not for us today, but the Bible is for today, Amen. But it's not about the long hair, it's about authority iin that Scripture, I think.
Have you actually "read' what I Corinthians says about that passage of scripture? I'm just saying that people cannot take the passages at their literal translation. We have a study of the scriptures which is called theology. Paul wasn't addressing that the long hair was the issue, look at the culture! It was the roles of men and women in an opposing mixed culture society. The Jewish being the established Godly culture. Jewish men to this day cover their heads in worship.
how amazing!!!! that line up of the vocal band in my opinion is just the best...and even though that line up hasnt been for a few years, that performance was like as if they have never been apart...just outstanding, the soung their 4 voices give is incredible....cant wait to get these 2 dvds!
actually, if you look up "reecho" in the dictionary, it means to give back an echo... like a double echo. I'm sure thats what david was trying to do say haha. Either THAT, or if you look up "recco" in the dictionary you get a british pilot who is spending 3 months on leave... after reading that I'm positive that David was singing about british pilots having freedom to go on leave for 3 months.
The sound system is certainly not comparable to a concert system. It just shows how good they really are...they can pull off this song anywhere, any place. What may sound like David struggling to some are actually contemporary embellishments. He is going to have to cut back on those now that he is singing in the group again. He will eventually revert back to his old style of singing once he gets back into the groove. After all, he spent the last 3 or 4 years redefining his singing style!
1. Esta es la mejor formación que ha cantado Let Freedom Ring según mi gusto.
2. bill gaither usa el micrófono muy lejos, no le creo como puede sonar tan presente
3. mark lowry bastante regular, bien.
the video is awesome, and david does rock, I agree. But he isn't struggling, he's just not letting it all hang out like in previous videos. If it were tough for him to hit those notes, he'd be dipping when hitting them to support his lungs. Instead he's got his arms up and his head back lol. I think he was just trying for a different sound like he's been doing for a while- if you need proof that these notes are no biggie, go see him live.
Yeah, I think struggling was a bad word choice on my part. More that it seemed like he was trying to stylize more than usual? It's all about personal preference I guess. I much preferred his earlier GVB stylings of this song [ie White House and NYC]. David is by far my favorite male vocalist , I even bought 'the Voice' right when it came out
All of these points aside, there is something about the pure passion that exists when he sings. The spirit flows from him with every note.
Essa ficou demais... David Phelps faz o impossível com a voz... Deus seja louvado!!!

Ok ... I tried my best ... I really did ...
I wanted to hear ... "Echo" .... ... but in all honesty ... my ears also hear
"Recho" ... lol ...
However, I will go the "extra mile" ...
I will wish that was an audio distortion and purchase the DvD (something I planned on doing anyways).
"Echo" or "Recho" ...
I still love this performance :)

I think the reason why he said "recho" is because he might have wanted to say "Let Freedom Ring" but realized that that would be the wrong lyrics.
