  • I'm a Catholic and could never vote for an evangelical like Huckabee. He seems like a good guy but I do not believe a clergyman should lead this country. We are NOT Iran, we are NOT Saudi Arabia. Keep cleris out of our government! It is people like Huckabee that turned me away from the Republican Party (I am now a member of the Libertarian Party)

  • Yes, Huckabee doesn't ever want to push his beliefs on others... except when he can get away with it. Part of being a Southern Baptist is getting up in "non-believer's" faces and trying to scare them into joining the cult. If you question your church they say THE devil has tricked you. What a big bag of crazy!

  • His endorsement of religion makes him unqualified to be our leader. We need to keep the clergy out of politics. Love Obama's outlook on religion. Peace and enlightenment at Deism d com.

  • @Circle4Success Your prejudicial litmus test makes you unqualified to decide. Thank goodness you only get one vote.

  • I agree that people have a right to think as they wish BUT, if you hold significant public office I think it imperative that you justify, substantiate AND validate all that you think say and do. The people of the US deserve it. Religion cannot be validated and therefore has no place in government. That rules out Huckabee, Palin and Romney. Candidates MUST have the courage, integrity and honesty to admit when they dont have the answer. Irrational people need not apply, PLEASE!

  • @707BIGGLES747 I think you will use anything to "rule out" somebody whose ideas you don't like. Don't shroud it in patriotism and integrity; it could not be more transparent.

  • @violinista53 If the President of the United States puts too much stock in: the power of prayer, communion wafers, embroidered temple underwear, thinks that the next coming of Jesus will be in Missouri, thinks we are possessed by thetans or will not activate electrical things because its Saturday, then in my opinion he is too loopy to hold that position.

  • @707BIGGLES747 Thats too funny! I agree. Religiously America is so far "In the bag" any hope of rational thinking is so far out of sight we won't ever see it!

  • Don't wait 53 years before you READ that bible, as it is a BIG waste of time believing in something that is cherry picked and handed down to you!

I have read that bible from cover to cover, and realized for myself it was a load of murderous SHIT, and YOUR bible god is a murderous cur!

Would be nice is there was a hell so all you hypocritical bible thumpers could burn in it!

  • @wiskawind How come you sound like such an angry person?

  • Hmmm, Huckabee wants to change the constitutional to fit God's standarads, yet we aren't going to force God on people, lets see how that'll work-out.

  • What, you didn't quite understand what he said?

Upholding the principles of our founding fathers is Huck's goal. Building some sort of theocracy is not. Our founding fathers recognized that a theocracy was unfair and so does Huck.

Read your state's premable. Read all of the state's for that matter. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Consitution.

We've jumped the track and it's time to get back on it. Or we fail.

  • he's a joke

  • You're a joke!

  • NO baptists ministers in our government, PLEASE! GodvstheBible d com

  • You're racist

  • Be very suspicious of any politician who wears religion on his sleeve and attempts to shove it down everyone's throat. In the early 21st century religion is being exploited as a convenient shield for all types of moral turpitudes, including torture.

  • Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. BAHAHAHAHA. The antithesis of Christianity.

  • if someone gets raped at lets say 14 and gets pregnant they should not be forced to go though 9 months of pregnancy if they don't chose to and their are cases where the pregnancy is dangerous to the mother or the child to be, where it would be better for everyone if that baby was not born

if you don't believe gay people should get married then don't mary someone of the same sex but people shouldn't force their beliefs on other people

  • ya i agree...he is saying its okay to believe what ever you want, but the reason he wants to get rid of abortions is becuase of his religion. they make up reasons like safety. it all crap it should be the mothers desigion..

also im not christian and he says believe what you want and hes saying that they shouldnt force religion on you..

he says that but in the mean time hes trying to get rid of seporation of church and state.. hes trying to allow the study of christianity in public schools

  • You're right. Homosexuals shouldn't be pushing the government to get involved in their personal choices.

And who speaks for the innocent when they are not given a voice? I guess 2 wrongs make a right. Rape, then murdering the baby. Guess that makes sense.

Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves. They thought they had sanctity of life covered. Thought marriage was covered, too, but they didn't count on the dumbing down of America.

    Please pardon my sarcastic exasperation.

  • No abortion (if you didnt want a baby then you shouldnt have sex)! No steam cell research (taking lives to save lives..that makes sense? NOT) No more war (No more wasted lives! I want my husband and friends home)! Secure the border! No gay marriage! And above all, YES TO GOD!!

Thats what I believe and thats my personal opinion. If you dont agree with me dont bother telling me, it wont change anything. =)

  • may I ask why no gay marriage? You provided no reason.

  • I'll answer it: it's not necessary. Homosexuals have all the rights that all Americans have, as well they should. They are simply ineligible for marriage as marriage is made of man and wife. You know, "I now pronounce you man and wife"? And no, it's not the government's responsibility to make sure they have children. Homosexuals need to take that up with a Higher Power.

I have homosexual friends and none of them feel the need to be married. So they live together.

  • 1) No abortion - see where you're coming from

    2) steam cells - dunno...I kill millions of cells each day

    3) no war - probably won't happen soon

    4) secure borders - hell ya!

    5) no gay marriage - doesn't affect you or I

    6) yes to God - sure, yes to God no to organized religion

  • "My faith does, in fact, shape my policy"...This is the kind of shit that will make people not vote for his dumb ass.

  • The last thing this country needs is a Jesus freak making decisions, not based on wisdom, but rather a consensus interpretation of a book of questionable worth. In the Old Testament, the so-called 'God of unconditional love' commanded his warlords to murder millions of innocent people. Holy War is an oxymoron to anyone with the capacity to think!

  • I think you have misread, if you have at all read, the old testament. You say God sent his people to war, which is true, and this makes Him an unmerciful God. You seem to be one of the people who think that the God of the old testament was a judge and the God of the new testament was loving. In reality it was the opposite. In the old testament, God gave people many chances and they didn't change, ie: prophets such as Jonah. In the new testament, God was a judge and judged Christ instead of men.

  • So he's a flip-flopper. God: wrong on religion, wrong for America.

  • @Rockstar97321 Truth is wisdom...

If you think they were innocent, I believe you sympathize with decadence and corruption. Don't you know 'the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away'?

  • He has said pretty much the exact opposite in the last week. Changing the constitution?

  • Huckabee, along with hundreds of millions of born-again Christians & Catholics, are taught that people are inherently evil, despicable creatures born in original sin. And it is only by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord & Savior, can they be saved from their monstrously corrupt essential nature. So if you are Muslim, Jewish, or anything else, then Jesus, God of unconditional Love, will condemned you to Eternal Torture in a Fiery HELL! What a dangerous bunch of MORONS!

  • heh, the way you wrote that, makes it seem almost as funny as scientologists.

  • Well, it's the truth. It's incredibly amazing beyond belief how millions of people can be so blind. People suspend all their logic when it comes to organized religion. Truly, the Beast is non other than what the Church has become to so many unthinking people. Most people will believe absolutely anything if it comes from a man behind a pulpit.

  • Damn Ice mountain, advertiseing. lol sneaky water bottle.

  • haha thats cute

  • "When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them." - Matthew 6:5

  • I am a Christian. Jesus was the greatest pacifist in history. NeoCons are currently supporting the genocide of over 650,00 people in Iraq. Would Jesus approve of this?

How the hell can you call yourself a Christian when you support a war that is killing hundreds of thousands of lives? JESUS PREACHED A MESSAGE OF PEACE, NOT WAR! If you don't believe me, then PICK UP A BIBLE AND READ IT!

  • Jesus purging the temple part or David (the man after God's own heart) chasing the Philistines part?

  • @GalacticQuest Why don't you take your own advice? Jesus himself said, "I have not come to bring peace on earth, but a sword [to divide households, etc.]..."

  • Go Huck Go. The GOP has finally found a candidate who can deliver the oval office. Knock them out cold.

    Go Huck Go.

  • It's very scary that a theology degree is considered as relevant experience for running for office.

  • He was actually govenor for eight year. He has enough credentials to run for office (see Clinton, same state)

  • I'm familiar with his other experience.
