hey mate. im looking for a thick beefy sound that has a lot of low mid punch in it. looks like ur bass comes close. what wood is the body made of n what strings r u using?

The wood of the body is maple through the center and neck (as its neck through body), the 2 pieces either side of the neck are mahogany. the fretboard is ebony and the pickups are active bc rich p-ups. The strings i used on it are the factory standard D'Addario EXL165 Long Scale Medium Gauge strings. I have since changed to Rotosound RB45 Medium Gauge strings and theyre alot better. Hope this can help you!

I think this is a finger line, not a plectrum job. You could get the short notes to stand out then.

Constructive criticism - you need to work on holding the rhythm and muting strings. You're playing too many notes at some points. Don't rely on tabs to be correct.

haha, another correction, i have the bad habbit of biting my finger nails so they didnt even touch the strings, its the way my bass was set up, it was terrible. i didnt like it at all. ive had it properly set since then. yeah, my rhythm wasn't to good in this video and i have worked on it since then, i had only been playing about 8 months when i recorded this

I'm not going to say you suck because i'm better than that but i will say (for constructive critisism) that you need to work on your rhythm as a rhythm player...if youre in a band or want to be in one, you will probably throw the drummer off. Not just in parts of the song, most of it. Bass player to bass player.
