zebras do have attitude. they don't have horns but they can kick with their hard hooves and they bite too. antelope & buffalo don't do that as far as i know.
That may have been the stallion of the herd.... Male zebra's can be very aggressive when protecting their herd. It also may have been a sub-adult lion with limited experience bringing down such a powerful creature.
Seriously, do people commenting on this video aware that this behaviour is extremely common. The stallion will stand and fight most of the time. Read up on your facts before posting.
you have to understand that TV only shows the standard stuff and this seems rare. Not anyone's fault or ignorance, just what they are exposed to. The value of showing this is to help us all understand.
@lpycb42 Those aren't cubs! Lion cubs don't hunt. They do not even participate in hunts until their are at least a year old (that is young adult in lion years). At least google things before you act like you know about something. Zebras have fought lions and won before. It happens.

you do know its very common to see a zebra break away from the attack of a lion.................... right???
Hamchuck123 1 year ago
Hah. These are little lion cubs. Of course the zebra can take them. If that was an adult lion/lioness that zebra would be done.

i think they are young lions and the zebra knows they are lacking experience-probably a stallion as he is taking the rear and defending his mares.
