@benoitmyr that's no script, that's the dev console. Every time I finish recording with fraps, the screen cuts back to the console over the menu screen. I just hadn't edited this part of the recording properly so there's a small section where you can see it.

At 5:20 the console is active but mainly this happens when playing with Steam. Sometimes when playing HL2 on Steam I see the console for a moment after it loads an area. The console just shows a running list of the textures loaded. I'm pretty sure this is real...

not only that but at 5:20 I also noticed something odd, like a console screen flashed, it was tough to catch but I paused and see it. Not to detract from the actual skill but what was that?

@Kracus1977 First I record the play using the in-game console recording and then I use fraps while watching the demo. After the demo finishes the screen goes straight back to the console. Sometimes I just dont see the frames with this so i uploaded it without cutting it out. You can test it yourself by going in-game and opening console to record a demo, then play the demo and watch the screen jump to the console again at the end of the demo. That's what you see there, hope it answers you :)

If this guys is trying to claim he actually played the game this fast, he is lying. At 5:20, you see a program running in the background that he minimizes, it is not part of the game.  That's fine if you are doing a tool-assisted speed run, but you should be honest about it.

Lol, how about you try using the portal in-game demo recording system before you accuse me of running external programs. First off that tool that pops up isnt external, it is within portal, secondly it isn't a cheat in any way, it was a bug in the source console recorder so if I didn't hit esc straight after entering the record command, it cameup with that box.
