I disagree that that the greek word Apostle Paul uses "Arsenokoitai" lacks a consensus of meaning among reputable Bible scholars. I recommend the debate here on YT with Dr, Michael Brown & Harry Knox .Read Matt 19 and Mark 10. Paul wrote in the first century addressing an entire panoply of SPIRITUAL conditions. Paul had numerous terms to address the sins & ills of his day so your argument begs the question of why he chose THAT word. Also see the work of clinical psychologist Stanton Jones

Firstly recognize that because a prolific or famous person claims to believe and/or follow Christian teachings does NOT mean that they are actually a disciple. @shieldsff Paul uses the word "Arsenokoitai", which is not found in any extant Greek writings until the second century when it apparently means "pederast", a corrupter of boys, and again in the sixth century when it is used for husbands practicing anal intercourse with their wives. "Arsenokoitai" is made up of two parts: "arsen" means "man"; "koitai" means "beds." Although the word in English Bibles is interpreted as referring to homosexuals, its not the same homosexuals as today!

@shieldsff If he had, he would have used the word "paiderasste." That was the standard Greek term at the time for sexual behavior between males. We can conclude that he probably meant something different than people who engaged in male-male adult sexual behavior. Some scholars think probably the second century use might come closest to Paul's intention. If so, there is no justification for translating the word as "homosexuals."

OBVIOUSLY, Paul did not write the epistles in the 2nd century, but in the first century addressing an entire panoply of condition & circumstances. Had Paul intended to single out pederasts he could have used the technical term paiderastïs. Also see the work of clinical psychologist Stanton Jones
