Man...Every time That guitar lick rolls through I get goosebumps...But sometimes I think where did it even come from?!? It completely contrasted the mellowness of the song for just that riff and went back to being smooth again What?!? That's PUREGENIUS
This dude was around a pretty big circle. He played drums for Santana and Stevie Wonder, and his niece is Sheila E. So MF Doom sampled some forgotten royalty. ;-)
That single guitar solo seemed to come out of another world, almost separate from the song. It almost doesn't fit, seems like it should be another song altogether. I guess MF Doom saw it the same way.
I know what you mean....me and a friend have been lamenting over not knowing where the sample came from for like 6 years....We either figured out the others from old shows or just randomly ran into them....I actually assumed it was from some scifi movie.....but i'm pleasantly surprised.
You want a real surprise, not sure if you have seen this but search Mf doom airplanes and the first video with his throw up(bubble letters) as the picture. Its the sample he used for fazers. Just to think he could listen to that and sample it really shows how much of a mind for music he has.
Thanks for posting this joint. I own Coke's records and am a huge Doom fan, peace my fellow digga. BTW doesn't that guy knocking buddy out remind you of Obama lol

Taking something from a great song and using it to make a beastly song is something only MF DOOM could do.
