don't you ever feel that if you had a soundtrack to your life, Bruce's lyrics and their meanings could very nicely summarize every chapter of your life? I have had this thought for quite some time and when I stumble onto a song I haven't heard, it still relates to some aspect of my life, describes an emotion, a feeling, a mood.
Agreed, He's my human god. But this ain't his song. Original was by Jimmy Cliff. It's on YouTube. Bruce originally did this for an Amnesty or Anti-Apartheid benefit.
I was there, too. Over the last 35 years, *no one* has sustained the level of excellence, writing, in the studio, and performing as Bruce Springsteen, although ironically this is one the rare covers he occasionally plays. There's room for argument about song writing, but live shows? - the greatest live rock n' roll that has ever been or ever will be. What's absolutely amazing is that on the Magic tour, at 58 he's lost very little, if anything. He gives 100% *every* night.
Oh, I agree. My point was that with regard to song writing, there *is* room for argument. I'm not going to dismiss someone who makes a case for Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, or Pete Townsend as simply wrong.
I do not think there is much room, if any, to argue that Mr. Springsteen is other than the best live performer of our time.
And, as I said, it is ironic that we are having this exchange on the comments section of a video of Bruce playing a song he did not write.
I was there! definately a highlight, tho if someone could post the video of that KICKASS guitar solo from Prove it All night.... that would be absolutly AWESOME

Most powerful Springsteen's rendition. His hallmark is the tempestuous frosty cooing. He made an everlasting impressions!
The BOSS is it as he yells Trapped .... Ooooo yee ee ...eeh ... eh!

I think he was a bit better in 1985, but it's relative. The Boss is awesome still

CPS is right on. It is all about the 100% the whole band has always performed with. Pushing 60 & they are still put out the effort.

Very, very true. The man is not human.
I don't really think you can argue about his song writing either, it's all brilliant!

Man, I was there, too. I've seen him 7 or 8 times, and this night was the best since my first time in 1984. Amazing.
