At 4.30 you should not have taken the bishop with your bishop, you should have ignored the threat and played cxb4 instead. from there you would be winning, use your knight to 'restrain' his queenside pawn. control the c-file, connect your rooks, create an outpost square for your knight, blockage his pawns... activate pawn rams, and destroy his queenside pawn structure, but don't completely destroys it, let him send his forces to the queenside. Lastly, shift all your pieces to attack his king.
minute 4:23.. pawn to C5.. i didn't understand why he didn't take it with the pawn from D5.. i think this is also what lightbrown95 is referring to.. also if i'm down a rook i wouldn't trade queens volunteerily
Yes nayef012 thats exactly what i was referring to. Jrobi should consider himself lucky he didnt notice that because if he did that pawn would have caused some serious damage. Plus it was protected by the bishop being even more of a threat. Probrably this player didnt no about en passant because i find that alot of players dont no about the rule. When i first started playing i didnt no about it either until some one used it on me in a game.
I think he rather wants to check with the knight and forking so that he can capture the B5 pawn. He still gets a pawn, and he now has his Rock and Knight working together wich can produce a faster downfall of White.
This could be just me, but Kd7 seemed like a much stronger move than Ka6 when you decided to develop the knight... but that could be just me. I enjoy all your videos, especially the Fisher analyses which are very nice. Cheers!
After you move the pawn to C5, he could've gotten a pawn with an en passant move.

Hello jrobi
I know this is an older one of your games but as a newer chess player I had a question.
At the 1:29 mark before the bishop knight exchange
From whites perspective what is wrong with H3 to try to chase away the bishop instead of trying to block the pin.
Although doing this still would not stop you from doing the exchange.

How long did it take you to get that rating?

king to h8 is a blunder, king g7 is more like it, always activate your king in the endgame !

I am not a very good chess player but at 7:43 why didnt you just take his h3 pawn it would leave him with 3 deserted pawns?

i have that same book by laszlo polgar. i think it's a great book to give you endless tactics puzzles to study to sharpen your game.
Good job in your game, by the way!

When you advanced your pawn to c5, he could have taken it was his d-pawn by playing en passant.
And the book by Laszlo Polgar is great for improving your tactics!
Take care
