I reckon he does a good job......for a white guy ) Powerful voice,70's moves. I'm white and married a black girl. This song is us all over. Too funny )
That goofy white guy is actually a very good singer if you actually listen to the song...I wish I could sing those high notes.....and BOY he can dance!! top man!
STOP HATING ON THAT GUY!!! THIS IS MY SONG!!! I heard this song while i was having a dream and everybody was singing it like a music video i was jamming with them and even wanted to do a remix but they wanted to stick to tradition :(
Lose the guy?? He is doing some fantastic singing!! He actually added some energy to this performance...Sometimes after a group has disbanded, it can be hard to pull the crew back together...I'm glad Shirley Goodman and Jesus Alvarez (I believe that is his name) performed together here...THANKS FOR THE POST!! Thank you Shirley! Thank you Jesus!
Shirley of Shirley & Lee "Let The Good Times Roll" fame, circa early 60s. It was great listening to Shame, Shame, Shame played almost non-stop on NYC disco radio stations like WBLS in the mid 70s, knowing I had listened to her on my little 8 transistor pocket AM radio as a kid.
oh lalala moi aussi j'avais des pattes def et est ce que quelqu’un ce rappel des jeans brodés FLEURS jusque au genoux avec deux fermetures éclaires ...merci ++++ souvenirs
Flash Backs..........I remember the high school dances drressed in DOUBLE knit pants, PLATFORM shoes, and who knows what kind of shirt. God, please tell me I did not look like this and if so I pray there are no pictures!
How good is this? Shirley kept some funky company in 1975. This is one of many truly outstanding soul/dance classics from that year. I feel singularly privileged to have been alive at that time.

male singer = Kenny Jeremiah who joined with Shirley & Co. They are not British, they're American; Shirley from New Orleans & Kenny from Philadelphia (I think?). Kenny was lead singer for the Soul Survivors before this recording. He also performed with, amongst others, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Cream and Strawberry Alarm Clock. Shirley was famous for three much earlier hits, together with the late Leonard Lee: I'm Gone (1952) I Feel Good (1955) and Let the Good Times Roll (1956)

In a million years and for a million dollars I could have never guess these were the people who made this song. It is a shame they didn't make a whole lot more though. I guess they were not marketable. Not that I don't understand why. lol. I'm from Brooklyn, and I can tell you EVERYBODY knew this song. Even my Mum and Dad.
@brewill23 I'd rather be rude then f'n stupid. Of course it's not Freddy Mercury dumb ass, that's why it was funny. Does your babysitter know yer on the computer after your bed time?
@brewill23 132, 3 degrees above the median. And that assumes a median of 100, where as the average America IQ is now 90. That said, even if I had a two digit IQ, I would have known that someone calling this guy Freddie mercury, followed by "hehehe..." was making a joke.
@brewill23 Right on both counts, but it doesn't make you any less of an embarrassment to the entire species. Clearly there are not enough quarters on the planet for you to buy enough clues for you, Bizarro-Einstein.
The "Company" part of Shirley Goodman is getting gangsta with the singing and dancing! Made sure he had his moment to shine in the performance and in the song...
