  • The hell did you put Windows 7 there for? Idiot...

  • nothing like speaking in the third person...

  • screw you microsoft :D

  • if you dont have the gpedit.msc you can alwaysdownload it, which i did. fuck you microsoft!

  • Yea, Windows 7 Ultimate has it, but Home Edition doesn't, which sucks... BTW; This is Xion... My account was jacked.. T.T (.)

  • I dont have gpedit.msc :(

  • Comment removed

  • tyvm for the tip, I'm basically being increasingly throttled like a bitch up here in Norway. My utorrent for instance manages to do a stable 1,7 mb/s, but if I were to close it and let's say watch your vid I spend approx 35 sec loading 10 sec of material.

  • sounds like sam from tron legacy

  • why the fuck would you put windows 7 then motherfucker

  • Oh, you mean not the home versions too!

  • Thank you very much.

  • this won't affect my computer in a bad way?

  • how do you do this on win 7 home?

  • woah, the bandwith limit is being limited to 20%, not limiting 20% of it away.

  • Yeah, it's fucking hysterical. This is why: When you do not update your pc with their update, your pc begins to slow, right? When you update your windows, it speeds up. That is why. This stops that sh** (.))

  • Oh I know... I made this video before Windows 7. Do I show it not working for it? I renamed the video as well as added annotations. Am I contradicting myself somewhere?

  • @XionTheDrow I know what you meant, I've dealt with that piece of sh** gpedit msc before. You are kind of contradicting yourself, the title specifically states in all caps "WINDOWS 7". I can't detect sarcasm through text, so IDK if that's what you meant. But if not, thats where you are contradicting yourself.

  • No problem man, thanks for the view and comment. And yeah, it is Alien. But it does not work for Windows 7, I do not believe. If you find one for W7, feel free to link me, thanks.

  • @XionTheDrow It does work for windows 7 just search it on the start menu.

  • I know now, I appreciate the help man, thanks. And I appreciate the comment.

  • good job mate....worked me for me!!!

  • Glad to hear it man. Thanks for watching.

  • @xHitmanHobbitx mine doesnt either :/

  • Thanks dude.

  • No problem man, thanks for watching.

  • Thanks-!!

  • No doubt, and thanks for watching.

  • Thanks, great vid. i did noice a bit more speed

  • No problem, and thanks for watching. Even the slightest speed increase, over time, will greatly help you. As for internet speed, if you use Mozilla Firefox, I have a video which will show you how to run that faster as well, loading material on a page before your even on it. (But in a way which will not cause slow downs on your current page.)

  • qpedit.msc doesnt work with mines and i have windows xp

  • What version of Windows XP? Home edition? Pro? 2000?

  • @XionTheDrow i dont know all it says is windows xp service pack 3.

    how can i find out?

  • Run the "RUN" application, you know, what you use to put the gpedit in, and instead of putting gpedit, type, "winver"

It will bring up a window, and at the very top it should state it. Like mine states, "Windows 7 Ultimate."

Your's should say Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP 2000...

    Or something like that.

  • @XionTheDrow windows xp home edition

  • That is why, I have in the beginning of the info box, which youtube makes hard to get to... stupid youtube, ^.^ (.); However, it only works on XP 2000 and Pro, which is a bummer. Sorry about issue man, I really should add 2000 and Pro only to the name.

Well, if you use Firefox, I have a video on how to tweak it a lot faster than what this tweak would increase your firefox browsing. (But using them both together is marvelous.)

  • @XionTheDrow oh ok dam so you dont know how to make ur internet speed faster with home edition?

  • I looked around for you, and all the ones I could quick find (Within 10mins) were all applications... not tweaks... and I try not to trust on applications. As for messing with your policy, there is no possibility I could give you. Sorry man.

  • @XionTheDrow ok thanks. i looked up a few things like increaseing bandwidth. and windowsize and tweaks on firefox and i think it helped. but thanks anyways. if you get anything in the future just hit me up. is there anyway to upgrade ur processor or you cant?

  • Sorry I could not be more help man. And as for the processor... you would have to buy a new one, ^.^ (.) They can be costly though, pending on what sort of PC you have and what sort of upgrade you need.

  • i fixed it and it really doesnt speed it up =/

  • Well, it is a loose tweak, so, it really pends on your computer, your broadband or dsl... or any form of internet, and how you connect to it. Sorry for it not helping you out man.

  • @XionTheDrow its ok =]

  • hey i get sum dum ass error when i open it. the snap-in is not created, it may not be installed correctly

  • What does the error read? And when you try to open what?

  • Great work! I would highly suggest you check this setting after every Microsoft update. I'm sure they will sneak in a reset script when possible.

As with ALL INTERNET service providers, along with hardware manufacturers, (and yes including Microsoft like we see here) they all throttle the bandwidth 20%.

  • They will not freely admit it but as we see here its fact. Its really a test, if you don't know how fast it can be then you don't know to complain. And if someone complains they just send an update to your modem allowing a little more bandwidth to be utilized. In other words if its Corporate run, they will cheat the customers for the sake of profit. NO MATTER WHAT!

  • That is so true; however, when we download... or... are forced to use Windows software on non-apple computer, than I suppose we sign a deal with them. And I do agree with you, but if I was in their position... I would probably do that same, wouldn't you?

  • hmm...You sound like the guy in 30 rock who talks like that...

  • Thanks... I think? Just as a question, (other than, "I think,") is that a compliment?

  • @XionTheDrow No...But thanks for the tip cowboy

  • Indeed... (Awkward silent.) But hey, if this video had helped you, I suppose that makes up for it.

  • Says windows cannot find gpedit.msc when i try and run it

  • Question IP, what sort of operating system are you using?

  • Windows XP Home

  • Interesting.

And you have typed "gpedit.msc" with no caps, spaces?

  • ye, just copied and pasted the one you just typed, just gives me the message saying cannot be found etc..

Any way to get around this?

  • I researched it for you IP, and I believe I might have had someone bring this up before, about Home edition. Home edition does not actually have a Group Policy tab. From what I have read, you actually have to manually install it. (Which I would not do, since that might be going overboard.) My apologies.

  • So theres no way of me geting ahiger bandwiht?

  • There most assuredly is a way to get more bandwidth back for Home. However it is not the same as for Pro and 2000. There is probably another way you must do it since GP is not installed into Home.

  • Do you know how i can get better bandwith?

  • Not that I know of since I never dabbled with Home edition, but, others might. Mine is mainly on Pro edition, since that is what I use primarily.

  • lol thx, why is all your thumbnail icons on your desktop that red blob? :p

  • They are the icon of IrfanView. My favorite image viewer. Always one of the first downloads I put on any computer.

  • Hey thanks a lot man.

One thing I noticed in your video that I do not see much on youtube is CLARITY and a CONCISENESS. Thanks!

  • Your welcome, ^.^ (.) And I greatly appreciate your comment, it means a lot to me.

And I know what you mean, some people pull you through a run-through of what to do, but they forget alot of details. I pride myself on simple and easy How To's.

  • what does bandwidth mean???? does that mean it incease your internet speed??? doesnt work at all :P but thx anyways

  • Yes, and no. "Bandwidth refers to how much data you can send through a network or modem connection." It is the obtaining and transferring of knowledge. Basically, this video is suppose to increase your BW which allows you to upload and download at faster rates.

As for a difference, what sort of Internet do you have? As well as, the type of Computer you have and Operating System. (Such as, Windows XP or 2000)

  • i have a compaq computer with windows xp professional sp2

  • I have a Sony Vaio WIndows XP professional Sp2. Looks like we are on the same OS mate, it's awesome, isn't it? XP is the greatest OS out there in my opinion. (Better than Mac OS, but I guess they are both good at their own things.)

And you did not notice a speed? Hmm, were you able to do it exactly, the entire thing? If not, then you could set it back I suppose.

Also, do you use Firefox or Internet Explorer? (Or other, I have a video on increasing FF speeds.)

  • i mean i have a compaq laptop my desktop broke :P my mom said she will buy me stuff to built my own computer on feburay :) so im happy :D. im going to buy a barebone kit with better processor and 2TB Hard Drive or 1TB. anyways i use firefox

  • Nice, nice. I have a 160GB Hard drive, and I myself have been wanting to make my own as well, I would need to get myself down to FRY's. And as for the faster FF speeds, I will link you the video in a PM, tell me if that helps you.

  • This was really helpful bro. Thanks a bunch. 5/5

  • No problem man. Feel free to share this with your other friends with Windows as well. (I think they would appreciate it.)

And yeah, I wish I could make it more visual, but the thing is... I am not sure if there is personal information in the registry... But since it is a registry, I suppose there is. (To an extent, I think.)

  • does not you are fake

  • If only. However, noticing from your Grammar skills, you yourself most likely lack computer skills and knowledge of how it works.? However, if you are bluntly going to insult this tweek, then atleast back up your reason why.

I have received alot of messages from people stating it has greatly helped them. Just because it does not help 'you' do not mean it is fake. It means your computer is either lacking sufficient bandwidth to begin with, or, your just to ignorant to realize what it is doing.

  • Apparently you don't know what's fake.

  • Wait, is that to me, or Tomo? (Sorry, Youtube has a funny way of sorting replied comments.)

  • I was talking to Tomo363

    : )

  • Alright, thanks, They really need to improve their 'replied' comments set-up.

    ^.^ (.) Thanks for the back-up.

  • The land of the living!!! Sweet you have an awsome voice!

  • Thank you, I appreciate it. If there is one thing I love about myself, it is that I was blessed with a most tolerable voice, ^.^ (.)

So, did you find the video helpful to you? Or do you run another piece of Operating System?

  • Well at the moment im using dual boot im running Windows server 2007, Xp 64bit, And Vista 64bit. I Did try a methord to do this but the problem is it wouldent work with 64 bit, But this one worked so thanks man!

    Btw do you have steam?

  • Sweet, and as for now... I do not like Vista. It is like a Windows 95 but prettier. And no problem, it is my pleasure to help out any and all people who are paying ast amount of money for bandwidth... their not entirely getting...

And if you can, I would appreciate it if you could share you with your friends as well, since this is quite helpful to all XP(OS) computers.

Steam? I do not, I was going to get it for Left 4 Dead, but I have not gotten the chance to.
