  • Tele love. Great tune.

  • I can't listen to the studio version after the live one. Wish this would get more airtime then time spent in LA too. Great dynamics with these guys.

  • These guys made a guest appearance on the NBC TV show, "Parenthood." I had never heard of them until then. Nice song.

  • i think he sounds more like Danko than manuel

  • @steamshuttle Definitely more like Danko.

  • Just beautiful, reminds me of "the Band"..: a R.Manual song with even the same kinda voice Richard had.

  • It's Dawes dude.

  • they remind me of the band mixed with wilco

  • Damn good music

  • Very good! Good musicians and well rehearsed.

  • God, I would love to see this live. :)

  • I cant understand the appeal of "DAWES." Good lord this music has been done soooo many times before. And as far as the Zevon parallel... where the hell is the satire and humor. These guys are too smug and conceited to even be compared to Zevon. Man they look good though, it is clear that all their time and effort spent to appear "authentically vintage" has worked.

  • @alexkane1 Okay who really cares about the comparisons to Zevon? What? Warren Zevon didn't channel anybody? Please. The real question is, if this has been done soo many times before, which of those times do you approve of? Who did it first? Oh really? Are you sure? Weren't they channeling someone themselves? So you see, you're simply jealous cuz these guys can write and sing and perform and have gotten recognition cuz they have taken something many people love and spun it their way.

  • @alexkane1 Actually it sounds like you are the smug one. Saw these guys last week. They are the real deal. I guess sincerity and well sritten lyrics are in such small supply these days it's hard to recognize.

  • @alexkane1 Are you even listening to the lyrics? Has this sound been created before? sure. But those lyrics are anything but smug.

  • @alexkane1 Curious as to what you think is worth listening to new-wise.

  • Frontmen of Deer Tick + Delta Spirit + Dawes = Middle Brother!!! Look 'em up! :)

  • Can't wait to see these guys again!

  • Jackson Browne with soul, Simon and Garfunkel with balls, The Eagles without being pretentious, Neil Young with great vocals… or just Dawes cause one day that is all you will have to say.

  • @mrbill224 Yeah I think the comparisons these guys get to Bruce Springsteen are rediculous. They're much more like The Band!

  • Saw them over a year ago opening for Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros in Tempe, AZ. One of the most beautiful performances I have ever seen. They're very involved and really cared about the crowd who fed from their energy.

  • They deserve success

  • Saw these guys open up for Alison Krauss & Union Station last week at the Beacon Theater in NYC. What a pleasant surprise! Great singing, playing and songwriting. It's refreshing to hear a contemporary band with some maturity and substance - and vocal harmonies. This song in particular definitely sounds very influenced by The Band (a good thing in my opinion) with a little something extra all their own. I will definitely go and see these guys again.

  • To foggyf9... Bad ass song writer and great band , too intelligent for the main stream may not be a bad thing!

  • I saw them last night opening for Alison Krauss in Boston. This song was among highlights of the whole night. Thanks for posting.

  • Saw these guys last night in a little club in London. Knew nothing about them but was well impressed. They deserve to make it, but I fear they may be too intelligent for the mainstream. Funnily enough Jackson Browne turned up too! Great Night!!!

  • @jaydilts - Truer words have never been written. Dawes is indeed the spirit of many different folks like Jackson Browne, Gram Parsons, JD Souther, and a whole bunch more folks who helped create country-rock, alt-rock., whatever tag, it's just flat out great music,we can help by spreading the word, I'm buying MP3 gifts for a few friends of Dawes June 6, 2011 release "Nothing is Wrong" I'm really liking these guys....

  • Just discovered these guys today via The Counting Crows Facebook page. Sweetness. Good Day.

  • this performance blows the album version out of the water. please re-record it!

  • i saw this band last nite in houston, tx. AMAZING!

  • Music is reverting back to its roots. The Avett brothers, Mumford and sons, Dawes, I love this and All I want is more. I hope to see these guys live very soon. where can I find tour dates?!

  • @lngskater4life check out worlds tallest man, horse feather, great lake swimmers, band of horses, and if you havent yet ray lamontagnes "trouble" album

  • The Band reincarnated.

  • Taylor's voice is a thing of pure, total beauty. As much as I love these guys being my obscure, unknown pleasure, they really deserve to be bigger.

  • @mrbill224 absolutely!!! and they flippin played letterman last nite with Robbie Robertson!! and although the BAND is one of my all time favs, i wish dave woulda let dawes play one song. they are phenominal and they bring back that sound that hasnt been around since the days of the BAND and ccr and bread and csn and on and on...... I am soo inlove with DAWES!!!! R.I.P. RICHARD MANUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't believe they didn't play this in TO last time they were here. They let this guy Corndawg take over half their set.

  • Even though I only heard this song for the first time last year, it is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  • Saw them in LA in February; simply amazing. Every song seemed better than the last. Then they played 'A Little Bit of Everything' and I gave up listening to other music altogether.

  • @nerdmaster128 The second Dawes tune I heard was "A Little Bit..." As soon he hit the word 'rail' in the first verse I was sold...and then the rest of the amazing song happened.

  • Folk rock... I'm a huge folk music fan... but its rare to actually find a true folk rock band that is actually folk... cuz they're usually countrylike..

    I LOVE THESE GUYS

  • Very underrated lyrics. I got this album since the lead singer from my favorite band, Deer Tick, says this is his favorite band. Thank God. I bought extra copies for everyone I know with good taste, and they love it too now. I caught them live at Lollapalooza. I haven't seen anyone so into a performance since Ben Harper live years ago. Great talent. This band is going to be huge. Get the album, you'll love them.

  • @jaydilts We saw them last night in Atlanta. You're right, they are pretty great. We bought their CD and love, love, love it.

  • @jaydilts wait, you bought actual physical media?

  • Please come to Florida, anywhere in Florida, I'll drive the distance. Keep rockin, you guys are the kind of real music I've been searching for.

  • Bob Segar and CCR collide to make something watered down, but enjoyable.

  • I haven't been able to stop listening to their album since I got it... two weeks ago.

  • why aren't these guys playing stadiums? what a great fucking band...someone needs to save rock 'n roll - it might as well be Dawes.

  • I don`t think the lead singer know how powerful his voice really is.

  • @bowiehs agreed

  • @bowiehs I AGREE!!! I HAD TO COME HERE , I HEARD IT ON MUSIC CHOICE LOL

  • Can't wait to see these guys in November in TO.

  • Taylor Goldsmith rocks my world. He is brilliant!

  • Buy their album and support them, but these guys are best experienced live. They truly come alive and their music ROCK!

  • Great band i saw these guys in mn

  • good performance but I like the more understated studio version better.

  • I believe! Hallelujah!

    Devistating performance.

  • Damn. Had to comment again. Fucking brilliant, guys. Come to Boise please.

  • Greatness
