  • Vergangenen Sonntag haben wir diese Kantate auch in einem Gottesdienst gesungen, deshalb kann ich es nicht verstehen, weshalb der Leiter bei dieser Interpretation die dem Tenor bzw. Bass des Chores zugewiesenen Zwischenstücke den Solisten zugeordnet hat. Haben diese dies etwa nicht auf die Reihe gebracht?

  • @enemanozzle The refrain "Aller Augen warten, Herr, Du allmaechtiger Gott, auf dich!" (All eyes wait, Lord, almighty God, on you!) is always sung by an SATB quartet, with instrumental parts marked forte. But the rest of the text is always sung by a T/B duet with the instrumental parts marked "piano".

    The use of "piano" suggests Bach used only 2 concertists to sing the duets, and perhaps added ripienists during the 4-part refrains. That is the practice observed in this performance.
