@moralbox At the time I made this video (Spring 2007), I was just on vacation and didn't really know very much about Taiwan. But since March 2009 I've been living here, in Sanxia (Taipei County). I really enjoy living in Taiwan and I've learned so much.
@liamtoh669 Well the basic history you to know is simply that.
The people in Taiwan were originally the Nationalist party lost to the Communist Party during the Chinese civil war. Taiwan was basically the place where they retreated to in order to make a last stand.
Wapanese? What does Japan have to do with anything?! There are more bubble tea shops in Toronto, where I used to live, than all of Japan combined. If you're going to be an ignorant jackass, do it on someone else's video OK?
Why not? Yours is so easy to make fun of. And I was basing Wapanese on all your other videos combined. And the precise joke was that Wapanese drink bubbletea because they think it makes them Asian thus more Japanese.
Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm from Toronto, where bubble tea shops are in nearly every mall or plaza (asian or not), or the fact that I was in Taiwan at the time this video was shot, and Taiwan is where bubble tea was invented. Nope, the only reason I'm drinking it is because I secretly want to be Japanese. I think you're reaching...
(sigh) as I explained in my response to somethingawful, _and_ showed in the video for the Okinawan-themed restaurant, I was coming down with tonsilitis at the time. I'll admit they made it much sweeter than I'm used to, but that's not why I was wincing. It was actually quite painful to swallow at this time.
There's tapioca in the bottom, so yes I was chewing a bit. Also, I was starting to come down with tonsillitis at this time, so that why you see me wincing as I swallow.

This man made a video about drinking bubble tea on a bus?
I'm not sure what's worse: The fact that he bothered to make and post this, or the fact that I'm spending the time to respond to it.
