  • this is a great song of all time!

  • Still one of my favorites, always will be!

  • @0307601978--well said from an admirer of Petula Clark and wishes it was 1966 instead of 2012. Well said!!!

  • Great Song, Andy Kim At His Best

  • 7 3 77...the bubblegum singster his voice was sped up on those recordins to make him sound younger...yawn zzzzz

  • Yeah i remember this one, thought was by an american group...

  • I love Andy Kim..Listened to him growing up. So natural...

  • you canot even buy this off I Tunes. So dissapointed. Thats the polite way of sayin it.

  • Is it protest to me?

You're barking up the wrong tree if you think I'm to blame.

    ...Otaku3

  • Brings me back to the days when life was good and things were simple. Listened on our transitor radio !!! Wish I could go back.......

  • Andy wore His "Pants" so tight! I remember that.

    Baby I Love you...........

  • Until tonight this was the only version I had ever heard.

Now I see that the Ronettes recorded it in 1963 and that something called 'The Ramones' also recorded this. (I have never heard that version.)

  • I'm afraid you have the wrong number...

In 1963, the Beatles released "Baby It's You", not this song.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • the ramones did this song? ill have to search that

  • In 1980, the Ramones covered this song on their album "End of the Century".

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • Now this is the version i was lookin for great song!hear it all time on classic oldies weekend but they never give names to songs. And what do you know Phil Spector had part making this song, for being a pyschopath he knew his music. lol!

  • this is the best version of the song

  • 30 years after finding and hearing it for the first time on 45,i still enjoying this song by him.another oldie classic in my book, and i hope in everybody else too.

  • love this song very much, my college days.....used to request it.....

  • 60otaku3 thank you fro sharing this video is fantastic made me fell nostalgia for a charming time that will never will be the same.

  • You're welcome, southamerican888-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • The solo that comes in at about 2:06 always bugged me. It sounds like a shrieking, out of tune violin that was improperly mixed. The rest of the song is great. Wish they would've fixed that - It doesn't sound right. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • You can hear the Phil Spector influence in the excellent Wall of Sound effects. It's his signature sound. - Bill

  • Like if you're a teenager and love this song!!!

  • It's 1969 again, summer all year long, in a time of incubation and innocence - this beautiful classic brings all this back from the first note.

  • i was born in 1970 my mom who passed away yousta play this song in my crib

  • this has to be a boyce & hart composition

  • This was written by Jeff Barry, Ellie Greenwich, and Phil Spector.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @60otaku3 thanks, that surprised at first, cause it has all the monkee/archie stuff that boyce & hart would do ,but i do hear the famous spector /wall of sound /now ,too bad phil has only 4 walls now... tommy

  • @tommieparch - pretty sure this was an early Ronettes tune. Makes sense since Phil Spector is a co-writer.

  • @jameschar24 you're exactly right. The Ronettes did this in early 1964...Classic Wall of Sound

  • @MACJO63 .........greetings fan............somebody has posted on-line what they believe this song is really about..............dont know if it is right or not but it is certainly interesting.........can be found at "austentayshus australiana damo3805" and press "see all" to find the comments. regards.

  • @tommieparch - pretty sure this was an early Ronettes tune. Makes sense since Phil Spector is a co-writer. This is a nice version, but this song always reminds me of Ronnie Spector and then Joey Ramone...

  • @jameschar24 yeah, ur right. but this is done with the boyce & hart sound ( maybee they played on it).. this is like one of their songs they wrote for the monkees.. thanx ,tommy..

  • BestMusicExpert,

Please do not solicit somebody to specific url.

I cannot admit such the comment here.

    60otaku3

  • @60otaku3 I didn't, I just figured people would enjoy the whole show if they enjoyed this song. Why be so touchy?

  • I am prohibiting all of such a specific advertising comment on my video comment page.

It means my own method in YouTube.

    Please understand it...

    60otaku3

  • This Song is so beautifull!!!!

  • This is a great version of this song. I first got it new on 45 at the time and still have it in my box of 45's.. And the Ronettes did a great original. It think is was released on Steed Records label.

  • You're welcome, lindylou381-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • veryh nice remake of the tommy roe song.

  • Tommy Roe?

This is a remake version of the song recorded by the Ronettes in 1963.

    ...Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @60otaku3 thanks, i love the original also.

  • @desiguy55 On second hearing i think i definitly like the Ronette's original song better than this.

  • i fell in love the first time to this song playin Valerie was her name and what a memory to have come back! things were more innocent in these days! Thamk You

for posting this song. I loved this time in my life THANK 60otaku3

  • im a huge metal fan and even i like this song!!! haha good stuff

  • I had forgotten what a great song this is! I was about 10 years old when this song was released. A certain percentage of radio airplay in Canada has to be Canadian artists so I heard a lot of Andy Kim back then, including Be My Baby. I loved the memories a couple of people shared about watching their parents dance to this song. So sweet. Thanks for posting this song. It brought back my own memory of me lying on my bed listening to my transistor radio.

  • You're welcome, Mina2304-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • @Mina2304 a certain percentage radio airplay had to be by canadian artists ??? im 50 & i never heard that before.. im a liberal from chicago & i allways thought as canada in a great view for being liberal (they took in the guys that didnt believe in vietnam,, they have health care for the poor ..etc../ but to censor the radio! i dont get it/ maybee after seein the fuckers from vancover destroy their city over a hockey loss, im starting to understand ur country may not be what i thought!

  • @tommieparch It's not censorship per se...but promoting from within..and i always hated it...but when a song was a hit worldwide, such as this song was, we knew it was bona fide hit and not just because it was played in Canada to meet the airplay requirements..

  • I never dreamed of listening to this song again.... after so many years. What a wonderful time. Thank you 60otaku3.

  • You're welcome, ruthita418-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • I heard this song a couple of weeks back on SiriusXM satellite radio and it brought back a special memory. It was summer of 1969, and I remember my parents slow dancing to this great song in our living room.

    Thanks.

Thoughts and prayers to all the people of Japan.

  • You're welcome, johnm28med-san!!

I am very glad for your warm message.

    Domo arigato gozaimasu!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • This song brings back great memories from the summer of 1969.......one of the best years

  • Thank you for bringing this one back from the archives;great song. 1969; The Mets win the World Series.Man walks on the moon and Andy Kim is playing on the radio. At the time I was 9 yrs old and filled with wonder. I wish things could be remotely as good today as they were back then.Today wonder is replaced by disillusionment. Back to reality now,the memory will have to be good enough.

I am a mom using son's u tube acc I fell in love at 9 yrs old secretly and still love the man ! 2011

  • You're welcome, donnie65301-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • @donnie65301

I have to agree completely - my wonder has also been replaced by disillusionment. But, this song recently brought back a now cherished memory of my deceased parents. i caught them in a private moment slow dancing to this song in our living room. I wisely kept quiet and watched in wonder.

    John M.

  • Your taste of music is really so nice. expecially about japan pop. i found ryoko moriyama 's talent and voice and performance perfect. greatings from turkey. Thank's....

  • Ahh what great memories. I was 7 yrs old back then but I still remember this song coming over my parents AM radio.

  • Great video & Great song,,,,Toss up between this and The Ronettes....Let's call it a tie....

  • Thank you, mpsicily-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • @60otaku3 Absolutely....

  • 15 years old I heard this on Radio North Sea International . July 1969. My last summer holiday job and I fell for a boy called Mick from Stevenage. Ahh good times.:)

  • It was 1969 and I was in love. Her name was Donna, she was from Eunice, La and this was our song. it has been 41 yrs since I have seen her and I still miss her

  • I was 14 years old. Frankfurt , West Germany. Listened to this over and over again and day dreamed about a girl at school. Song was played on a 45 RPM record.

  • You're welcome, 0307601978-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)/

  • same here! love this song

  • Otaku-san, you know good American music like an American. Are you sure you are not an American?

  • Thank you, 57highland-san!!

I am a native-born Japanese living in Tokyo now.

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • I just spent ten minutes at iTunes trying to find this song. It wasn't there! Not included on the Best of Andy Kim or any compilation. My 15 year-old says we have to access iTunes in the US, rather than here its equivalent in Australia. Hmmm. Was a summer in 69 though this was a huge radio here in Australia. So, go figure...

  • In my opinion this is Andy Kim's best song , you never hear it on the radio , they always play "Rock Me Gently" , but this is his best song . Thank you to You Tube for posting this song .

  • well is so nice i find this song it brings back memories

  • Wonderful stuff !!

  • domo arigato 60otaku3 san, you have taken so much of your time to make these songs availible for us to listen to and such a good quality of sound. this is, i truly believe, a labour of love

i am very thankful for your efforts :)

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment, MrBuckwilliam-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)v

  • @MrBuckwilliam I'm going to let the comercial happoen

  • Oh, I LOVE this song, thanks. x

  • You're welcome, derailedpoet-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • How cool is this shit!!!!! TRUE LOVE, when there was such a thing.....

  • I heard his version before the original, so this is the one that's stuck with me longer.

  • this song is one of the greatest love songs I ever heard! thank you.....

  • You're welcome, Xanthippe276-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • The original was a great record, but AK kept a surprising amount of the "wall of sound" effect for a 1969 remake and added that unforgettable rattlesnake sound that starts at 1:09. You can almost picture this track having been recorded in a vast walled in city street.

  • I think this remake version to have become more attractive by adding that sound.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @lrd9999 Castanets????

  • @doglips1958 Probably, but I'll bet they've been fed through an echo chamber.

  • @lrd9999 Could be.Great tune

  • I think I fell in love with my husband to this song in 1969. We got engaged that year and I have memories of this song that I can't even talk about here!

  • @bobbalooie69 -- What a great testimony for this great song. I was about 12 when it was a hit and played it over and over, pretending to be singing it to the girls in 7th grade

  • @bobbalooie69 Come on, baby, nah nah nah nah nah nah NAH !!!

  • While Ronnie Spector has an incredible voice; Andy just has the "IT" factor when delivering this song. His voice is so tender and intimate; it is as if he is addressing you personally (if you're a woman) and speaking on your behalf (if you're a man). It reminds me of a time when I was in love and will never be again. Lovely song.

  • Finally, the version I was looking for!

  • Love this, is the flip side"Gee Girl"? Many thanks for sharing!

  • I think the record single's flip side is different by a country.

In Japan when this was released, the song of that flip side was "Be My Baby".

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • @60otak I'll listen to that one next, thanks so much for answering!

  • My pleasure, norfolk03-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • @norfolk03

Gee Girl is great. I have the 45 somewhere and remember listeneing to Gee Girl and wondering why that wasn't a great hit also. Thanks for the memory!!

  • @twokmb01 Thanks for answering, glad you remember it too!

  • @norfolk03

Just listened to it....gonna listen again, lol!!

  • Usually I prefer the original artist's versions of songs, but I agree with previous commenters that this is the best version. I always loved this song as a young teen.

  • Junior High School.........13 years old......thought this was the best song I'd ever heard!

  • I had the 45!! Got it at Woolworth's!!!

  • Geez, I haven't heard this in what -- 40 years (not really)!

  • BAD ASSSS

  • One of those rarities where the remake is WAY superior to the original- really has that nostalgic sound....thanks for posting!!

  • You're welcome, triactorpat-san!!

    Otaku3 d(^o^)b

  • @60otaku3 I heard this on the radio (I have heard this song before) and said to myself I have look for it on youtube. I'm glad I found it! Thanks for posting! I hope youtube doesn't remove this video like they remove half of the other good videos. If you can't by the video why would the singer or who ever mind if the video is posted? But maybe you can by the removed videos somewhere. Who knows.

  • @bandet888 When I said by I ment buy.

  • Thank you for the comment, bandet888-san!!

Perhaps I think that this video will not be removed by YouTube.

    Otaku3 (*^_^)b

  • @60otaku3 When I typed in BY I ment BUY. I need to proof read my comments more often. I hope my other comment makes more sense now.

  • @triactorpat AGREE 100%

  • is he related to Tiny Kim (the weird guy with the ukelele)?

  • I think that Andy and that person are not relatives.

    Otaku3 (^_^)b

  • @illharmonic tiny tim

  • @illharmonic You mean Tiny Tim? No, they are not related.

  • @illharmonic Both Andy Kim & Tiny Tim were stage names

  • @illharmonic Both Andy Kim & Tiny Tim were stage names-- but maybe he's related to Li'l Kim? (grin)

  • becoz it is a realy song ...

  • I remember this song ,sometime I can sing.

  • And from my girlfriend actually... :)

  • Love this song! I know it from the Ramones.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! <3

  • Love this song.. Tons of memory while living in Indonesia. I was the biggest hit and

I was in 8th grade...! Young and naive and wearing bell bottom..!

  • Why can't I find this on iTunes?

  • It is because iTunes does not cover all music.

It is very difficult to find music of records out of production particularly now.

    Otaku3 (^_^;)

  • Das Lied schick ich Dir, Beate.

Dein Englisch ist so perfekt, daß Du Dir den Text übersetzen kannst.

Wort für Wort aus meinem Herzen

    Dein Flo

  • Where's all these love ballots at, they were so special to me and my generation, thanks Andy Kim

  • Thank you! I love your collection of clips!

  • You're welcome, affectivity-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^o^)b

  • Andy Kim, you rock.

  • Thanks for your comments, JOSECHETATRIBUTE-san!!

    Otaku3 (*^_^)/

  • Remembers me of a girl I met months ago on my holidays. I never heard anything again from her, but this song makes me think of her again. What a nice time we had. Thanks for posting this!

  • You're welcome, FirstAid1-san!!

    Otaku3 (^_^)/

  • Happy 60th Bruce, Gave this record to you for your 21st.

  • love this version! i can't find it on itunes to buy. anyone know where i can get it?

  • The song I would sing to my (eventual) wife--and a record with a sacred spot in our home juke box! Kim once noted that Steed Records would speed up his vocal slightly to give the audio image of a Beach Boys- styled "surfer"--and then he would do concerts and fans would see a tall, dark man singing in a virtual baritone!

  • YES BABY I STILL LOVE YOU !

  • I haven't heard this song in 40 years!! All of sudden Ihave the urge to hear this very old song-go figure! I like the Roni Spector version better any way. Did she really marry Phil Spector OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow this helps a lot! I always thought Tommy Roe or Tommy James and the Shondells did this cover. I like this version above the Ronettes' version and have hunted it for a while. Now I know why the f**k I couldn't find it on any Shondells records.

  • Thank you! It brings back such wonderful memories!

  • You're welcome, BugEBee-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/

  • yes this is great i was young when this was writen, but remeber it

  • One of my favorite 60's hits!

  • Heard this song on the radio today and went into ecstacy. I'd forgotten how I felt when I heard it years ago. Love it.

  • ugh i no if i start listing to this song ill start missing her

  • Good song.

  • I have been listening to this song like 30 times today. Apparently a friend of mine in Japan told me the singer is Andy Kim. Arigato Ochiai-san...! My favorite...! It used to be a big hit in Indonesia in the early 70s. I can flip my underwear....!!

  • OMG.. I have not listen to Andy Kim in 30 yrs.... and this is one of my favorite song sang by him..... Amazing..!

thanks for the upload.... bring tons of memory..!

  • You're welcome, Junglehike-san!!

    Otaku3 (^o^)/
