Religion and moral dogma is really something which are all going to have to outgrow and rise above if our humanity is to ever have a chance to flourish. This does not just apply to Islam, but to every monotheistic dogmatic religion. It is perhaps most extremely visible in Islam however.
This sort of think fills me with both rage and disgust and tinges my general sense of pride in my iranian diasporic nationality with a sense of shame.

If God Almighty who created the world does not show us love, humanity would have been destroyed long ago. However, God shows us love, mercy, and gives us a second chance to repent, why should we take other peoples lives without giving them a chance to repent? Those who killed her, dont they commit sin? God gave that girl life and a right to live. Those who destroy that girl in death, would account for her life before GOD ALMIGHTY. If God does not love her, he wouldnt have created her.

It doesn't sound like life imprisonment would be an improvement considering the abuses these women endure in the prisons.
And I would bet the judge was simply offended by her behavior in his court and that's why he personally went to the Supreme Court. Maybe the sentiment was shared by the other judges which might account for why her case was decided upon so quickly.
I wonder what happened to her boyfriend Hasan... Sad.

@Redtinmug Here is what I am generalizing: The Islamic Extremists, about one third of total by now. Also the muslim men who stand to watch and don't defend these abused women. Sex is not a crime, it is imoral but not a crime. The criminals are the Islamic Clergy and Islamic Law according to them. Until Islam Law fixes this I consider it a criminal law. The church and the state need to separate, the belief from the natural justice, interests and values of the people. Islamic Law is backwards.

Where were the muslim organizations denouncing terrorists and speaking up against the degradation of women all over the islamic world? Why aren't they aknowledging that the hijab and burka are tools of opression used by muslim men??

@sims1616, Those who agreed with your comment concerning The Catholic Church, need to consult history and reflect it accurately. If that requires understanding that The Church isn't monolithic, fine. If it requires a primer on examples of Catholic opposition during WW2, fine. If it requires photographic evidence displayed at The Holocaust Museum in Washington DC... But it would be nice for once, to see an atheist actually appeal to fact, instead of contriving information to fit biased ends.

One more thing, for the family (s) in Iran who had to go through this tough and sucideal experience, I have my deepest respect to them. For that judge who made that mistake to this girl, I hope that god/allah BURNS YOU IN HELL!!! For the people/government in Iran or like who continue to suport this law system , I hope you that god burns you ALL IN HELL !!! and teaches justice the right way, wether comunist or democratic.
