I have downloaded the track, copied it into the gamedata\locations directory but for some reason, the track doesn't come up on the list when I am ingame. Why is this?
First off, this track is not laser scanned. So your time truely means nothing compared to the real world lap times.
Secondly traction control is not used in real f1 anymore.
Nice driving, but to boast in the description about the lap time is a joke. Like I said this track is not a laser scanned replica of the real thing, nor are the specifications of the virtual f1 car.
"which breaks the track's qualifying record 1:13.962 set by Fernando Alonso in 2006" LOL. alonso's time wasn't true pole, Schumacher got a faster lap, showing class with 1:13.898
On the straight after the casino corner, there is a huge bump on the left side of the road. I think if you go around this a little more, you will gain some time. Other than that great lap.
thats pretty much what I run :D . I use really stiff springs for sharp corner ability, and not to much front wing I duno y lol. I also run weak brakes so I can drag them longer and carry more speed into the corners it works for me :D I also adjust the anti roll bars so I can get good speed all around and I run medium gear ratios.monaco is one of my better tracks :D
Actually a 1.13.5 with TC is a pretty average lap. May vary a little depending on the mod. But once you get the setup right the times drop like a stone. Don't get discouraged! A bad setup causes hesitation. And any hesitation in Monaco is very very expensive. I can usually start off in the 1.20s and get into proper times only after two or three days.

No driving aids were used except traction control LOL :D modern drivers cant drive without TC it seems... learn to drive first

In 2005 TC was allowed so why not use it? Same configurations as in the real F1. Still driving without it is more fun, that's true.

try cockpit view. This point of view is something like cheating for me.

I drive with cockpit view. I only use this for replay, as it shows more details to the viewers.

on my ps2 I can run 1:14:7-5's on simulation and no tc :D . what kind of set up do u use in this computer game?? maybe I can shave time off :D
jraybay 3 years ago
i use a very oversteery setup to make the car to turn in the corners, thats where i make up msot of the time from

1:14-7 thats impossible on f1 2001 for ps2 for anyone who's played it. I cut the bus stop to achieve such fast lap XD .
