Faces making direct contact with the viewer, other faces avoiding contact by looking away, by hiding behind photographed portraits of themselves. Fleeting presences suggesting the evanescence of existence, the inevitability of decrepitude. Who are we to ourselves, to others? How do we present ourselves to others? When we do so, are we masquerading? I wish the music were less dramatic.
