  • Oh YES!

Ok first i got a little disapointed when i tried this but its actually really simple.

Procedure: After you have saved the two lines in the default.pa, log out and in (restart not necessary!), then start jackd (i use QJackCtl) and lastly type in terminal: killallpulseaudio.

Pulse will automatically connect to output so flash works and games....(testing) yes they work. However for stuff like fps games you should lower the frames/period as high latency is just as bad in games as in music.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • Thank You Very Much for this tutorial it help me with my only problem with linux audio.

  • would having it like that all the time impact performance though?

  • Cheers Kris, I've been using the modules for a while and I was a bit miffed by having to comment/uncomment the modules in default.pa any time I wanted to change the sound settings, so I've done a bash script to turn the modules on/off forum[dot]sonodrome[dot]co[dot]uk/t150-bash-scripts-for-linux

It's titled Jack It, thought you might want to check it out ^_^
