  • I came....

  • We used to blare this overs speakers my dads would set up in front of the house!

  • From a record album of the same name made in the late 1970's.

  • haha the funniest halloween "Porn" ever.

  • Hey!......That's sounds like My Porn Videos

    except for the wind,thunder,& chains.

  • My dad bought this record when it first came out, and I still have it. I remember when I was a kid, he'd put his stereo speakers by the porch windows on Halloween night and we'd have this record playing as the trick-or-treaters came up. Fun times.

  • @MikeAM78 Yeah, I did the same thing when I was a teenager. Just one speaker up to the window on Halloween night. The end of the recording was always sad to me because when the host says ..see you next Halloween.." it signaled that Halloween was almost over, ouch!

  • this sounds like a porn

  • I found this on Ebay

  • I like how at the end of this side of the record, the narrator says "I'll see you next Halloween. HOO-HOO-HAA-HAA-HAA-HAA-HAA!"

Side note: not only did this album scare the crap outta me as a kid, but so did the skull on the record label!

  • this sounds like someone is having some late night fun LOL

  • I used to play this LP every Halloween when I was a kid. Then I recorded it onto my computer about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, I don't have that computer anymore. I was fortunate to discover that this LP is a cult hit, and I downloaded it a couple of days ago.

Mind you: If someone were to release it on CD, I'd be MORE than willing to buy it!!! I hope that whoever now owns the rights to the Pickwick albums is listening... I WOULD BUY IT IF YOU REMASTERED IT ON CD!!

  • @calvinc1975

I'm DEFINITELY interested Calvin!! Where can I get one? :-)

  • This is the best haunted house soundtrack ever! I'm so glad someone has ripped it to mp3 and I was able to download it. Blaring this out of our house every year was a Halloween tradition.

  • The first part of the girl sounds like shes having sex and the dude sounded like he was dumb

  • @senorg0mez Your mutha is dumb.

  • I still have the cassette! That man laughing always sounds like that plump fella in those 80's 7-UP commercials, lol! Great stuff.

  • just like when i open a box of cereal.

  • I remember playing this record during Halloween back in the late 1980's! Loved it! Miss having it.

  • Heh. Our teacher played this in class one time and he said the screaming was one of the girls in our class getting her report card.

  • just sounds like a woman getting a good seeing to

  • this a very old album to begin with-pickwick didnt originally own it. plus nobody comes foreward to say they made the album? THIS ALBUM HAS BEEN RE ISSUED ON VINYL AND I HAVE A CHEAP SEALED COPY re issued on a different label CHEAP from a used record store. I am serious!!!

  • Most Halloween records from the period were full of fake and cheesy sound effects but this one was a BIG exception. Sounds To Make You Shiver lived up to its name. Genuinely creepy and unnerving. It would be worthy of re-release today and it would still deliver the creeps!

  • also SOUNDS OF TERROR 1974 from Pickwick

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen Oh man! When I was 9 or 10, my best friend Laura brought this over to my house and we put it on the stereo in the living room and turned off all the lights. We were OK during the cheesy version of Monster Mash, but when the spooky sounds came on, we hid under the blanket on the couch. Then we got so scared, we squished ourselves under the coffee table! LOL! I found this on Ebay some years ago, and the last track on Side 2, Nightmare of Lost Souls, still gets to me today!

  • LOVE this LP as a kid, and still love it to this day. I have a mint copy. The man and woman groaning on Side 2 is a riot. The guy sounds like he's having an orgasm at the end of the track...!

  • @frangiul13 Ha ha ha!! Funny way of putting it......

  • This album had a HUGE impact on me as a child. I remember staring at the cover for hours examining every horrific detail.

  • RIGHT ON! Exactly what I did too back in the late 70s....I also used to slide a stereo speaker out the bedroom window....

  • didnt anyone here ever get scared to death because of this album & have nightmares? now in this day and age, people are putting sexual overtones on the girls screams...........a lot of people are...

  • some other webpage turned this whole album into an ZIP FILE. the "Haunted house" is only 15 minutes long, and it also has some 'secret message", the girls voice seems to be saying "I am only 17..."..........also this album gave kids nightmares, along with the other one...COPIES ARE AVALIABLE at used record stores, I even got a reissue of this on vinyl...

  • i have one called horror sounds of the night sounds similar to this but without the talking.i wanna get this one now after hearing it.

  • "horror sounds of the nigh" I have a copy on store bought tape. it has stuff taken from the "Sounds to make you shiver" and copies are avaliable from used record stores and ebay!!!

  • i have the tape too.i found this copy online somewhere.with free download.thanks.i'll check my bookmarks.

  • if you remember where, email it to me

    what is the URL

    free download

    probably a blogspot

  • long ago, my friend had 'horror sounds of the night' (kinda erased) then gave it to me...whoever did it recorded some sounds from the "Sounds to make you shiver" vinyl, remised them then put them to tape. also there is another record with those sounds on it also...

  • me too !

  • I think I stole this from Woolworth's as a kid.

  • there is a commercial for Woolworth on here advertising the album for $1.89..........just type in "Woolworth Halloween"

  • I had this album when I was a kid, too. In fact, it's out in my Mom's garage, somewhere. I used to love it. Listening to it now, that opening with the chains and the screaming sounds kind of, umm, sexual. Nothing that ever occured to me as a kid.

  • I just bought this album on EBAY. I grew up with this Halloween record and I still love it! It scared the poop out of me when I first heard it and this record was also responsible for giving me my first nightmare at the tender age of 4 back in 1980! Oh the memories!!!

  • This video made me search and search and search until I found it in an old box in the attic!! I can't believe I still have this LP record. I would use it tonight for my "Haunted House" but I don't have a record player. Oh well, I guess I'll do it next year. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!

  • I have 3 copies of this album, 2 of which are near mint. I also have many other similar halloween oriented records. Ah, the nostalgia of halloweens long since past.

  • Cool! I still ahve my old crackly LP!
