  • the guy was like, WTF reff!!! are you sleeping are what, he passed out

  • Where was this?? Because your refs drank a little to much before the tournament and fell asleep.

  • the guy in the blue was pissed the ref didn't stop it... great sportsmanship to the guy in the blue... he should get to choke the refs out till the guy in white says stop...

  • wow...I love Jiu Jitsu and Judo...good show of awareness by the man in the blue gi

  • ho braddah one two tree four hit da floor you aint gettin up no more

  • good submission but i would like the names of the ref's for that mat. unprofessional.

  • wow its really similar to BJJ

  • trying to choke in a judo tournament sucks. when i competed any time id go for a lepel choke an the kid would tuck his chin the refs would flip their shit an say i was touching the face.

  • I would have soccer kicked him in the head after he was unconcious

  • wow, the guy in blue was the only one to actually realise and to actually care that he'd just choked out his opponent.

    Those refs are just incompetent...

  • FATALITY!

  • I wonder whether or not it would be possible to choke out a shaolin monk like that. For instance type in "true power of shaolin kung fu" in youtube search or look at the video directly at watch?v=7qHL2PSpecI . Look at the position 4:40 in the video where the monks hang themselves (I don't know any better way to describe what they are doing there.) Surely these monks have "iron" neck muscles.

  • @r0l0kcs LOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • @r0l0kcs They might be able to resist a air choke, but there's not much of anything to contract to defend a blood choke like that... even assuming they have awesome heart and are able to stay awake with limited blood flow to the brain, I doubt they could resist a solid blood choke for more than 15-20 secs

  • @dreamzero1 you forgot 1 thing as judo fight goes on you become tired and your heart beat gets higher :)

  • Looks to me like the guy in blue was the ONLY one that initially gave a damn that the other guy was unconscious.

  • i think the refs were a little late but the blue gi guy didnt do anything wrong judo is to simulate fighting

  • jajaja llae proibida

  • Love how the dude in blue only gives a fuck about winning...LOL

  • lol at his face when he passes out, hes like all straining then just sleeps.

  • Jueces torpes; deberían prohibirles estar sentados.

  • the ref should be next:)))

  • What a bunch of amateures, thay are like wtf should we do? Guy fells a sleep and there is 20 ppl helping him.

If I was judge I would slap him 2 times and award the win...

  • fucking stupid referee, take your ass of the chair and judge the damn fight

  • Árbitros torpes; en esta clase de peleas no se debe estar sentado.

  • you can't kill so quickly ... once you're choked out if your brain is out of blood for more than 30 seconds, than it can become dangerous ... he was choked out and out of the flow of blood for less than 5 seconds ... pretty OK but still, the refs are stupid and should be fired or thrown out for being so lazy into stopping the match. The blue judoka has class for stopping early A+ for him. The white judoka gets F- for not tapping... pretty stupid.

  • I think maybe the white competitor tapped verbally or with his left hand and the ref was sleeping. Don't see any other reason for that reaction. Or maybe they called a stand right as he went out, IDK.

  • Koshi-jime in japanese, also known as the "Clock-Choke" in brazilian jiu-jitsu.

  • ref doesn't even seem to understand what's going on:P

  • What is the name of that choke.

  • No Ippon?!? Why? It seems like every time the opponent in Judo is knocked out they don't award a ippon

  • Wasn't it Ippon? He was declared the winner.

  • @samluke8121 it looks like the man in the blue gi won. is that not an ippon?

  • of course they award an ippon if you choke out your opponent

  • what was uo with playing drums on his back at :25

  • damn that was tight...you can actually see his face as he passes out...props to you for knowing right when he goes to sleep and letting go

  • yeah closest to okuri eri jime but not exactly

  • looks like those fat, old judges were sleeping as well...

  • your an ignorant peice of shit

  • The whole history of judo began with the principle of disabling an opponent without causing permanent damage.

That's what seperates it from other martial arts, it literally means "the gentle way"

Judokas don't have the intention of causing knock-outs or broken bones. Just for health and safety reasons he should've tapped out.

Nothing is worth risking brain damage for

  • The ref should have immediately awarded the ippon to the blue competitor. Thank god, that blue as soon as he passed out, stopped choking him. The refs were sleeping on that one.

  • @carlosgrana I agree those refs are idiots.

  • @carlosgrana They're refs, it's all in a day's job...

  • thats why they call it "tap out or pass out" ^^

  • haha "tap, snap, or nap"

  • can someone give me the name of the choke

  • it looks a bit like relogio (clock choke) but not at 100%

  • Okure Eri Jime

  • whast with the pat on the back, and why is the blue gi all like WTF O_O when he chockes him out?

  • You ever chocked someone out? It's like " cool he passed out" it's more like "sh*t I hope he's alright"

To that you add the feeling that one second you feel him strugling and resisting, next second you don't feel anything than a dead weight

    kind regards

  • Really whats with that guy...it seems like he paniced as if he killed him

  • gotta love the look on the guys face as he is going out.

  • tap, snap, or nap

  • well you have to tap or this hapens

  • True story. People practicing BJJ or Judo should really study how long they can last realistically under what type of choke and on which arteries. From what I have seen the guy in white lepel tried to hang in there from 0:12 - 0:22s. That's ego IMO. I have informal training and during sparring, if I get choke, I try to flee within the few seconds, if without success, just tap. Better live and fight in another day, than risking possible permanent brain damage.

  • I agree with you 100% yellowknight but the bigger risk with this type of asphyxiation is not so much brain damage but the affect it can have on a persons heart, esp. if they have an unknown heart defect or something like a heart-murmur or Arrhythmia. If the heart stops then it can cause brain damage or death. Knowing CPR is helpful.

  • to be a sportsman in higher level u have to be examined if u have anything bad or not

  • That's a good thing Good1Embiko. I would hope they also have a doctor on hand just in case. I'm sure sometimes a guy doesn't tap out soon enough and gets knocked out. Stuff happens! Right?

  • well there are doctors in every tournaments (rules)

but i was answering to your post...

people with different permanent diseases, defects arent allowed to compete in higher levels

  • One choke is notthing like another one, u cant really study how long u can last under a choke.

and whats the big deal anyway, i train BJJ and people pass out all the time and i never even heard of anyone sustaining brain damage.

i guess its not as common in Judo as it is in BJJ thats why everyone jumped in and aplauded afterwards in BJJ tournaments its not even something that catches ur attention, the ref lifts up the guys legs to stimulate bloodflow to the head and thats it

  • The loser died! O.o

  • The guy in blue is a nice guy, he release him immediately after knowing he's out and tap him on the back to stimulate him out of being unconscious.

ppl should really know when to tap out.

  • It can happen real quick sometimes and you don't have time to tap out. If you get pressure on the carotid arteries in the neck it can put you out in 3-4 seconds and you won't realize you went unconscious until several seconds after you wake up.

  • experienced BJJ practicioners who know when to tap get choked out all the time, it all depends on how much energy ur burning while ur getting choked and how tight the choke is, and how comfortable u are while choked, i usually tap when i start hearing loud strange sounds (thats the most usual indication that ur gonna pass out) and i dont tap when i start seeing sparkling stuff that comes before the sounds..

but then again ive been choked out before i even started to feel uncomfortable..

  • Good to know, I got a question though, how many times after you have been seeing sparkling and be able to get out of the choke before hearing the sound?

  • (part 1) If for example am in caught in a proper locked triangle choke i never try toforce myself out with strenght cause that energy burst only leaves me so much oxygen left to the brain, so i try to relax my breathing as im twisting my head to find a little pocket where i can get a bloodflow to the head. in that case im very often seeing sparkling troughout the whole time as im defending and about 80% of the time i escape without hearing the sound effects...

  • (part2) U can try this drill really ive done it several times it helps u to stay more calm during especially those slow-chokes that feel so uncomfortable.

have ur friend sit behind u applying for example a rear naked choke on you. u wll try to sit with your hand raised above ur head and as he chokes u with medium pressure u try to feel the effects of the choke and as soon as ur hand starts to go down ur frind will let go of the choke, that assures that u wont pass out

  • (part3) and whats funny u will see that some timesu wont even feel like ur passing out but ur hand will automaticly start to lower as ur body will start to shut down for the passout, and thats mostly cause of the slow choke. a very strong pressure choke will make u tap immediatly from the uncomfortable feeling long before actual passout. so chokes are tricky but u can learn about more about them too. hope ur satysfied with this answer in 3 parts lol

  • Ive tapped to a guillotine once. Usually i dont tap to those but i started seeing flashed of darkness so i figured it was time to submit.

  • @mateah ha i just searched for "hearing a strange boise just before you choke out" on google and got to this page! ha its very strange huh? i escaped the choke just as the noise (which i think sounded like one of those spring door stoppers) started to happen, very close call haha

  • It was one of my favorit technique! I teach this now to my champion daugther!

    Senseï GeorG

  • man clock chokes are awesome, choke you out so fast

  • what

  • Wasn't fun when it happend to me at trainning. You feel dizzy as hell when you get up.

  • sweet clock choke. I'll totally go for that on failed drop seoinage

  • im so hot that I just took all my close off!! my a/c is broken! omg. im on cam too lol! p

  • yt keeps taking down my sexy vids!!!! 9

  • WOW very nice ne waza, good controle, effective strangle, there is no way out

  • did you get that tingling feeling under your tounge or toes?Smoking guitar

  • WHAO is that what happens when you pass out in judo earlier today i passe dout in a judo choke beacause the guy would not let me tap out and body just seemed to freeze in the position i was in when i passed and now i cant remember the match and being choked out weird

  • i now i got choked out and could tap, my hands were pinned underneath me, it was a weird feeling, it was like trying to fight going to sleep, then when i woke up my head was killing me

  • did you get that tingling feeling under your tounge or toes?

  • my toes were a little tingly, man i just remeber waking up still thinking i was fighting lol

  • what a pussy

  • i love judo judo judo whats the bestJUDO

  • Incredible. Newaza God !

  • clock chokes suck to be in. wicked amount of pressure

  • that was a clock choke. never saw that in judo only in jiu jitsu. i'd bet that guy crosstrains in bjj

  • umm... the clock choke is like the most common choke in Judo. like 75% of judo chokeouts are clock chokes

  • really i never saw that in judo my fault. i guess i learn something every day. bjj still rules over judo

  • Not really. Bjj may rule on the ground..b ut Judo rules in throws..

  • i agree i just forgot to mention that, bjj takedowns in general all seem to come from judo or wrestling. although if someone is untrained they are pretty easy to take down. back to the clock choke it occurred to me that seems how judokas dont fight off their backs much due to the rules clock chokes make perfect sense ,i just dont see many submissions other than armbars in judo but i also dont watch judo much(too boring imo)

  • bjj actually comes from judo. also did u noe helio gracie the "father" of bjj lost to masahiko kimura ,a judoka, by a kimura which is y its named the kimura cuz kimura used it to break helio's arm and win the grappling match

  • of course i knew that(not trying to sound like a smart ass) bjj is my passion. bjj has evolved to the point where in my opinion, as far as straight grappling goes bjj rules over judo. i dont see how a judoka of the same amount of training as a bjj player could possibly beat a bjj player except under lame judo rules

  • He could get thrown so hard he gets a concushion it is possible

  • yes highly possible, but if not once it hits the ground the judoka is in the bjj players world

  • eh it really depends on person. cuz bjj and judo have pretty much same moves cept judo just has more throws and rolls and stuff. but bjj was made and tailored from judo to make it easier for smaller ppl to fight against bigger opponents. so you noe it depends..

  • The incident in your video isnt rare. some fighter take the chokes and also foot locks.

Ken shamarock for example took a foot lock without tapping in a pride competition against another american fighter in a true grudge fight

  • The incident in your video isnt rare. some fighter take the chokes and also foot locks.

Ken shamarock for example took a foot lock without tapping in a pride competition against another american fighter in a true grudge fight

  • i saw death in vale tudo championship.. a guy was shocking a black guy and the black gay passed out with his eyes open (dead). Nothing was shown further (the dvd was skiped automatically to next fight) to prevent the sport being degraded

  • i've been doing judo for 2 years and not once have i heard of a death from a strangle hold

  • Very dangerous, very stupid. There was news just the start of this year that if I remember correctly, last year 86 men that they know of were killed in these chokeholds that they were not bale to revive! This is not at all fun.

  • I don't know of any that have been killed in judo...what is your source?

  • The news report did not refer to Judo deaths. The report was that teens, young adults, and some partygoers have been doing choke holds with tragic results. It mentioned that oxygen deprivation death can occur in just a few seconds in some individuals. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

  • @jmdarter just wondering, did you ever receive and actual source for that claim?

  • @fleecyboy do you know why, because the other person did not tap out, its up to them to tap out and if they dont they are the stupid ones. they should know when to give up.

  • @fleecyboy MAN THE FUCK UP

  • the fucking referee is stupid.

  • there is nothing wrong with the referee, it was the person in the white gii's fault for not tapping out, the referee was doing a perfect job

  • i called the referee stupid because he doesn't know how to revive the guy that passed out....as soon as he declare ippon he should revive the guy asap.

  • oh

ok than in that case the referee is definetly stupid

    or well trained

  • oh ok than in that case the referee is definetly stupid or just not trained good

  • its isnt the job of the referee, but the medic... you 2 idiots.. have you ever been in a fight show???

  • i have been in some comps and i saw two people getting choked and straight after the referee sed ippon, he rushed to the dude that got choked and helped the medics and everything, so in this video the referee is lazy and stupid.

  • okuri eri jime dummass! not koshi:s koshi means hip so, but this is judo, you see the reaction of the chocker truly amazing he respect his opponent and he truly feels bad about the whole thing, this kind of sportmanship should be rewarderd.

  • Just read bgeorge9183s post, koshi jime is actually a style of okuri eri jime where you apply the pressure by use of the hip rotation, hence koshi. I train both judo and bjj when i have chance and i use exacly the same techniques in both.

  • aah, I've never heard of that style so sorry for my post; I only train judo but it makes sense (koshi meaning hip, like in koshi guruma, hip wheel) never the less, it is still a style of okuri eri jime so in (european)judo we call it a variation of okuri eri jime. I'll use this one for my 2 dan examen:-)

  • Is it me, or are the officials sleeping on the job?

  • they have 2 w8 coz if hey call it 2 early the judoka will start complaining and etc....

  • KOSHI JIME MOTHERFUCKERS!

  • That is a really strong choke. You have to be very carefull doing drop Seoi Nage at higher levels. I have ended up in a bad choke before after going in half heartedly for a drop throw. I don't understand why the guy didn't just tap.

  • cuz he aint a pussy... haha or he thought he could get out but it was too late...i dont tap until i get tunnel vision

  • Well if you don't tap, then you may look forward to a very short career.

  • omg. i try not to tap. but. sometimes. u gotta break ur neck to get out. using my fingers helps. i break free. 99 percent of the time.

  • very effective choke, great!

  • God damn would you plz stop watching this.. cuz first thing.. this is judo and he didn't choke him with his belt mate -_-.. Ur really annoying and go take a look in history of judo before watching this kinda shit..

  • Its not a Karat Robe.. its Judo GI.. and its a judo choke thats the point..

    GG noob

  • Wow... that's what CALL desperate to win - wouldn't even tap out before he became unconscious :)

  • clock choke!

  • you cant roll out when the guy is on top of you and running around. have you even been put in this choke before?

  • Actually he could have done a shoulder roll to the opposite side or a front roll/shoulder roll combination. I've been in this plenty of times. Like I said, my instructor is a black belt in Judo and BJJ so we work on applying and escaping the chokes all the time

  • Take a closer look...uke's left leg is snagged by attacker's right arm, preventing a right shoulder roll.

  • peckjon...

Good call man, your right. My instructor actually taught us how to "counter" the counter to this choke by doing exactly that - holding on to the leg...

You must train in judo or jiu-jitsu..very observant

  • Ur very humble

  • I think you answered your own question mate. He obviously ain't.

  • Very well executed collar clock. The guy being choked tried to protect his neck but he should have rolled instead. A jiu-jitsu player would have escaped that hold with ease (i train in both)

  • fool he was pinned

  • clock choke (possible variant)

  • that was very well executed. good job, black belt?

  • I gotta learn how to do that one....looks useful
