  • It's the Teaberry Shuffle, y'all!!

  • You ever ride your swine to the 'Quick Scarf' as this played in the background?

  • This song reminds me of Ren and Stimpy.

  • This was an easy song to play on the trumpet as were most of the Tijuana Brasses songs ....Not to take away from the talent in performance of the group...They were very good indeed....

  • *gasp* It's RIDIN' MY DONKEY! I had no idea that was a real song!!

  • "The Teaberry Shuffle" this song was used in the Clark's Teaberry Gum commercial in the 60's

  • @wurlitzer1955 yup... some of the ads are on here... 55 huh?

  • Carol Kaye on guitar !

  • A beautiful cosy tune. Clear and positive sound!

  • I see Thunderf00t's profile picture!

  • Groovy Baby, fancy a stick of gum?

  • you guys know that herb is a russian man..and his crew aint spanish either? they just had a love for the style. i lovved them when i was little

  • I remember this played on Ren & Stimpy once or twice for when Stimpy had a stupid idea.

  • tea party shuffle????

  • I was in the third grade when this came out but I do remember the Teaberry Shuffle from TV commercials. My Mom played their music frequently and it takes me back to those times.

  • Is this the teaberry shuffle? OMG I just scanned down as I was writing this! Ha, I guess we are both dating ourselves - except I can't do the shuffle! Thanks!

  • This reminds me of the "filler music" from 1970's American gameshows. The sort they played while they were showing you the plastic luggage you'd just won. Still, a very fun and upbeat song.

  • The bunny is cute.

  • 7 dislike......... lol HOW!!!!????

  • @b41984 :

Maybe they didn't like the video...

  • Its gives happy feeling and delight to hear often

  • herb alpert is a good man. it does not at all matter, that his origins, are not latin american. god bless you buddy, from a latin american.

  • This is such a fun song. Thanks for uploading it.

  • lol i was eating a quesadilla when i clicked this!

  • Soundtrack to 'Swine Cowboy' from LTV.

  • Can anybody still do that "teaberry shuffle?"

  • @fred50ish Yep, I can still do the "teaberry shuffle!!" Ooops, I just dated myself... Such an upbeat song, with a lovely photo montage... Hello to a fellow Herb Alpert & the TJB fan !!

  • i remember this tune used in a chewing gum comercial, with people kicking about in a lively way. [circa. mid sixties] this music shows, how warm and lighthearted, horns can sound. they don't have to just be for jazz and classical, though, there is nothing wrong with that.

  • @brainsareus It was for Teaberry gum! (:

  • @WormYourHonor64 thanks a lot. is that even available today ? i've completely forgotten about that brand.

  • @brainsareus It might be available at the grocery store, but I usually get it at a local Cracker Barrel.

  • @brainsareus Try Cost Plus.....or Pier One Imports.......

  • Aah, the memories of my childhood and playing my parents' TB records.

  • Is this not the same melody as a 1940s song, "Heatwave"?

  • 1969, Christmas Day, Gee Dad Thanks, I always wanted a .........., fill in the blank!

  • @Diogenes1360 piece of teaberry gum?

  • This is REAL super bowl music!!!!!

  • @craig1974 Couldn't agree more.

Hire Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass as the halftime show!

  • @RKae858 Of course the sleazy execs would be against it, but once the people feel the groove the whole crowd will be going nuts!

  • Very cute video. I love the cats in the hammock.

  • I heard this song in the grocery store. Shazaam is awesome!!

  • Thank you for this cute animal video, I love Herb Alpert and Janet Jackson.

  • CAN'T....STOP....DANCING..... :D

  • 1:30 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Today is a great day! Thanks for the music & video! Love it!

  • Imagine this song playing while you're drowning or something.

  • @AnimaniacZero I think that if you were drowning, this song playing just might give you the strength to save yourself... what an interesting concept you bring up !!

  • watz up with the Bunny????

  • LOVE IT :D

  • This song makes me want to go out and dance and smoke the peace pipe! anyone want to join me.

  • brings back memories of the good life back in the 60s....so peaceful, uncomplicated. never thought i'd get to hear this again! am so glad i stumbled on herb's...

  • That has got to be the finest editing for an H.T.B lve ever seen.

  • doing the teaberry shuffle...lol. I remember that...am I giving my age away?

  • Feliz Cinco de Mayo, amigos! And to think that this was used in chewing gum commercials back in the 60's. Good times...

  • @TimelordR Look at the Clark's Teaberry Gum commercial link and you'll see people dancing "The Teaberry Shuffle" while this tune is playing.

  • Of course all you oldsters will recognize this song as the music for the "Teaberry Shuffle" popularized in the 1960's for Clark's Teaberry Gum. I can still remember the little dance they did.

  • @MrJoenowak Stop living in the past "Mr. No-whack". This song is o.k. but the sound is outdated. It's time to embrace the future, my gnarly, old friend. Put down the oatmeal and check out my band's new video for the classic Herb Alpert song, "Tijuana Taxi". We improved and updated the arrangement.

Go ahead now, you've got work to do...

  • Gameshow music!

  • who told this composer this is mexican???? this sounds like music for clowns!!

  • I personally listen to tijuana taxi when i have a bad day or if the commute is wearing me down, put it on loop and i'm smiling in no time.. this is a good onetoo.

  • Nice!

  • just can't stop my toes from taping.

  • 011258stooie: I hope your toes aren't TAPING because then you won't be able to walk. If they'e TAPPING, that's another story.

Spelling counts on YouTube when it's for the world to see, yes?

  • Love the Brass Horns! Always exciting to hear. THey command ones attention.

    So festive!

  • Muito carinhoso, lembra a falta de amor e ntre nós. Eles não se isolam . Lindo e exemplar. Obrigada. MEGPESSOA

  • someone may have mentioned this already but this was used in the teaberry gum commercial...

  • dam he's good

  • 5 stars!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent Music and Photo's, Thanx for putting the video on, Brings back lots of Good Memories!!!

  • TJB AT THEIR BEST EVER

  • Thank the good Lord for the 60's, and all the good music.

'Cause it's not so good anymore.

  • Sounds a bit of a "semi-stereo" mix, all the bits are there but the overall is wailing somehow. Good song though.

  • After returning home from Vietnam in 1967, my first job I took was in a Grant's dept. store. This song, out of all of the songs which played over the house system, sticks out the most in my mind. I remember hopping in my Chevelle and smoking half a joint on my way in to work. When I arrived, this song was playing as I sat there sipping coffee. I felt especially alive and remember thinking that just 5 days ago I was on patrol and survived an ambush. Life has been gravy since then and still is.

  • Man! What a great story, I am a Viet Nam Vet also returned home '1970. I also remember this tune. By-the-way are you a native of L.A., I sort of remember a Grant's Dept. Store in the area. Peace!

  • This was in Phoenixville, P.A.

  • W.T.Grant's was nationwide until they closed their doors for good in 1975, one of the first victims of the "big-box" stores like K-Fart and Wally-World. It was a Wonderland for a 12 yo. No made in japan junk !!!

  • Just want to take the time to say "thank you" for your service to our great nation.

  • Your welcome. I appreciate the kind words sir.

  • voxhead - nice story. not that I condone the joint mind you! take care

  • Thanks. I don't condone joints anymore either. That was a lifetime ago and we live and learn. I wish I still had that Chevelle though. It was a brand new SS 396 w/ 4-speed Hurst shifter. Fast, cool, and very fun. Chicks dug it too. Gas was 38 cents/gallon back then.

  • I condone the joint---and I don't smoke. You served in Vietnam. After that, You earned half a joint on your way to your civilian job--at the very least. Happy Veteran's Day voxhead123. Peace.

  • Thanks nauort23. I appreciate the Veterans Day greeting. To most people in this country anymore, it's just another day. It's the few, like yourself, who truly appreciate what very real sacrifices we who served have made. Life is far more fragile than most people may think. I've seen it first hand and it changes a person forever. Skin and bones are very, very fragile, know matter how much of a tuff guy we may think we are at times. It's a good life as long as we all can be forgiving and real.

  • My grandfather served in WW I, after which my father was born--in Germany; 21 years later, my father, a paratrooper in the US Army, was jumping out of airplanes, shooting at who must have been his cousins. He earned a purple heart along the way. My older brother served in Vietnam around 1970--while I was in Kindergarten. I like to think I'm a pacifist, but that's not the world we live in--and it's a luxury I can only indulge because of the sacrifices of people like you. Thanks.

  • You obviously come from good stock. I wish more Americans were of your character. Unfortunatly, America has become way too diverse and way too politically correct. Being a past or present member of the Armed Services almost seems like something to be ashamed of judging by the way I observe people in this country behave. Especially in corporate America. This is not the "white cliffs of Dover" anymore. I wish I could go back to 1960 and stay there. Anyone got a time machine for rent?

  • How many times have I wished for a time machine myself??? Ah the good ole days..no PC, just people are people, Teaberry Gum...

  • This is newer version. Original version is a little bit different.

  • Fun!

  • Fusion del beat, mariachi, brasil, este tema es uno de los mejores ejemplo que representa el estilo creado por el gran maestro Herb Alpert en la decada del 60.

  • this video has the aw factor great tune too

  • BRILLIANT.THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

  • Best Ad song ever - I can't argue with that.

  • Oh I remember that Clark Teaberry gum! It tasted like some kind of toxic cleaning solvent....but for some reason I liked it.

  • I saw Teaberry & Blackjack gum on sale at CVS last week in their own display.

  • The Best "AD" Song Ever !!!!

  • this used to be on a gum Commercial remember Clark Teaberry gum???

  • As a kid I loved this song-a bright spot from then!

  • I dig this! Brings back memories stationed in Germany in the 60s.

  • I'm totally doing the Bunny Rabbit Dance to this song right now!

    Thanx Sunsong23

  • It is pretty hard to stay in a bad mood, after hearing this music, and seeing these pictures. Congratulations. Gave me a warm fuzzy moment

  • Thanks so much! It is a fantastically fun song, isn't it.

  • Is it just me or is it REALLY hard to be in a bad mood with this playing! lol ^_^

  • You express what I think of as part of the magic of music - how it can lift us or touch us.

  • To Sonsong: Thanks for posting this! I've been trying to remember the name of this song, and who it was by ever since Casino Royal(the most recent James bond movie)came out! It was driving me nuts! I grew up listening to this song(no,I'm not going to tell you how old I am). patybear

  • You are most welcome. Glad you found it :-)

  • ja,ja,ja,ja,ja,ja!!!

    Nice photos

    nice post

    Cheers!

  • Wow, makes me want to chew some Teaberry Gum and do the Teaberry Shuffle (for those of you who missed out on the sixties, youtube has the old commercial with Herb ALperts music

  • Teaberry Gum-oh wow,are you kidding me? I remember that ! I think The Vermont Country Store still sells it. patybear

  • Ha, it's the Thunderf00t rabbit!

  • I bet most you didn't know that Herb Albert was the "A" in A & M Records. He is rich beyond compare and really didn't need to perform then or now. But his love for the trumpet still keeps him going. HIs is very smooth. Too bad they didn't have real Mexicans in the group. Made up mostly of Italians

  • And Al Moss is the "M". Al isn't doing too bad either. He's based in TN now.Herb's joke is that most of the TJB members were deported or are in jail.Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, are in the Guinness Book of World Records as having sold the most albums/CD's of any musical group ever.Must be well over 80,000,000 now. Alpert graduated from Fairfax High in L.A.,(80+ celebrities did) and A&M was a mile away on La Brea, & from where it was, its about 2 blocks from Pink's-a LA burger institution.

  • Correction its Jerry Moss. Al is his brother, and is the same business. Sort of like the Copeland brothers. My claim to fame is being sung a Portuguese lullaby by Astrud Gilberto when I was 6 or 7 in my bedroom (my Dad was a CPA who dealt with entertainers and doctors).

  • I beleve you have the facts concerning the Guinness world record slightly in error. I'm sure 80,000,000 units sold is an accurate figure, perhaps even a bit low. But 80,000,000 isn't squat when you consider the Stones @ 250,000,000 and both Zeppelin and Floyd @ over 300,000,000. And these are albums, not singles.

  • Herb Alpert is still performing and recording (for his own Almo Sounds label; he bought up his TJB and A&M solo stuff when he sold the label to PolyGram in '89...Shout! Factory currently distributes his back catalog).

  • Tijuana Brass, sempre de ouvir e assistir é sempre alegria!

  • Love this song.

  • Thank you for this video .I love his Music...Giselle

  • were can i find john monolisan - days of future passed?

  • Thanks, I love this song along with "The Lonely Bull"

  • This was a signature tune for some radio programs on the Rhodesia Brodcasting African Service while I was growing up in the then Rhodesia. Brings back a mixture of memories though I prefer to focus on the good ones.

  • herb alpert es un tributo a la alegria, la inteligencia y la inspiracion...

  • I swear I haven't heard this since the 1960s!

    WoW!!

  • omg....teaberry gum. ha, i always did the shuffle dance. What? oh you kids don't know what im talking about.

  • Well the song is great...that goes without saying. But it's your montage of furry four-feeted sweeties that REALLY make this rock! Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for your kind comment! I'm happy that you enjoy the song and video :-)

  • If it goes without saying, why did you say it?Anyway owner knows me. I keep comin back.

  • Ummm..in THIS context, "that goes without saying" means ALL TJB songs were great. As for knowing the owner, I'm so happy for you

  • reminds me of the summer of 1966,a great band and great melody!

  • lol 0:50 i told u im super man!!!

  • lol

  • Great music! :) I'm dancing right now !

  • THe bear at 1:40 must have been thinking "Ah Cr@#. . ."

  • lol

  • very nice dance music. i like it much

  • Great cosy tune, happy music. Clear trumpet-sound.

  • I always thought the name of the song was the Teaberry Shuffle!

  • What a great piece of trumpet music. I have this on tape done 10 yrs. back. A friend of mine, back in 1964 got his 'Come September' and 'Berlin Melody' exchanged for this great work of my dearest Herb Alpert.

  • Great video showing all the native Mexican fauna.

  • Indeed -- with all the giraffes and polar bears and grizzly bears and penguins and such.

  • There were Grizzly bears in Mexico, Sierra Madre, but hunters killed them.

  • yes, you can find all those animals in mexico, but in a zoo.. lol!

  • I've been trying to find this for ages. I suspected it was by Herb Alpert. Try finding a song when you don't know the song title or worse yet the artist. Searched for "trumpet" snd "instrumental" everywhere.

  • Glad you found it! :-)

  • Man, does this take me back!

As a child...the Clyde, Beattie, Cole circus ...the clowns advertised the gum by carrying huge models of their package while the live orchestra (yes, they had them in circuses then) played this piece.

I remember the TV ad too. LOL!

  • Oh, the memories this one brings back. Me and the fellas doing the Teaberry Shuffle in third grade. Thx, Sun!

  • yeah, but can you still do it? :-)

  • Since Clark is defunct and Teaberry is gone, probably not. ☺

  • That was brilliant!

  • :-) It's a great song, isn't it. Glad you found it.

  • I remember this from the 60's! It always brightens up my day!

  • I remember receiving this one sided 45 as a member of the TJB Fan Club in the mid-60's. I wish I still had that stuff!

thank you so much for posting, nice sound quality.

    Joe in NH.

  • Makes me want to go out and get some Teaberry gum!

  • :-) I enjoyed that

  • that gum was good and had a unique, pungent flavor.....after chewing it i wanted to go on the dating game...ha ha ha...playda hitzzzzzz
