Here is some food for thought. If the government can deem unborn life as killable, then what would theoretically stop them from deeming mentally retarded or elderly people as unworthy to have life as well?

here's what stops them: popular opinion. LUCKILY we live in a democracy. The vast majority of the population agrees that the mentally retarded and the elderly ARE human beings, and thus have basic human rights. Not everyone is in agreement over when life begins. I think it begins at birth. While it may not be a majority in this country that agrees with me, it is a significant number. And it's just an opinion. It cannot be proven one way or the other. So the choice remains up to the individual.

Guess what, pro-choice is NOT pro-abortion, dumbass. If you are pro-choice, all that means is you support an individuals right to choose. Because it's an opinion as to when life begins - at birth or at conception. I am pro-choice and that does NOT mean I encourage abortions. It does not make me a "baby-killer." 2 - I'm pro-choice because it is my personal belief that life begins at birth. However I respect the fact that others disagree. It is also my opinion that every human being has basic civil rights, i.e. freedom from slavery, and luckily the majority of the population is in agreement on that. Two totally different things...
