  • The Purpose of Life : to be as happy as you can .. for as much of the time as you can manage .. I think I heard H.H. say this somewhere else, some years ago now.

  • the ultimate sin is that you think that you are a god

  • @MrPmcri - the ultimate sin is to think otherwise !!!! so you rather think that you're a sinner and evil, more like the devil, than God, that is, it's ok for you to think you're the devil, but not ok to know that you're God !!! God is everything, there's nothing but God, so you are God, I am God, even the tiny fly is God, just with different consciousness. The fly is not aware of it's consciousness, but we humans are, well at least some are!!!

  • words meaning nothing with deed. Da lai lama always talking about compassion. But the reality, he living like an hollywood superstar. When he ruled Tibet, the tibetans were mistreated and brutality against the normal Tibetans. History don't lies. The westerns are stupid enough to believe what he says.

  • @Dragonmantis36 - There's nothing wrong in living like a Hollywood superstar. It's a beautiful thing to live rich and in abundance - you're relating wealth with evil, what's wrong with having and enjoying wealth. Religion is what condemns wealth, so you won't have it, and won't have power and give it away.

  • @PETER178900 You missing my point here. Not when you are a monk and advocate people to live life as Buddhism nature.

  • the most unsubstantial video ive seen, yet one of the more cheery and lighteharted

  • RIP Dalai Lama

  • @xxenome He's not dead.

  • i agree theres nothing wrong with what hes talking about, but the sole purpose in life is to accept jesus christ into your heart

  • @MrSupasexi Into your heart for you yours and its funny you ppl think you own god, and creates hell for others and if not in the afterlife give us all hell.

You Christians would not be happy enough with that NO not happy enough they murdered raped stole a whole continent took all the wealth left the aboriginal broke then tortured us stole our children and attempted to destroy them inside out for 130 years in their Indian Residential Schools.

Your sort have nerve but that is all u got

  • @MySpiritAnimated Delusions and illusions of grandeur and entitlement, and world history speaks not well of your POLITICAL: Religion, and now get back in your little Tax Exempt houses of hypocrisy and make sure remember The Christian Creed kiss the ass and serve with all your might every tyrant and evil man or institution that promises you wealth the right to do depravities to the helpless and material gain because that is what you Christians are really turned on by !

  • I respect his humility

  • My life is definitively worth it. BUT purpose of life is something like a direction it follows. What is your direction, what is your aim? Which point do you want to reach?

  • He's cool he's a peaceful man ! But ther is only one GOD and he sent his only son to earth to die for us ! Jesus is Lord and loves you very much ! WG with GOD

  • He speaks wise words of wisdom.

" Our purpose of life is EXISTENCE."

  • @derbrender You need not convert. :)

  • Buddhism has no god. Buddhism is smart enough to realise that there is no purpose and th desire of an afterlife is purely delusional human selfishness. Thres nothing to convert to but christians wouldnt understand that.

  • The purpose of life is to get dat nut

  • The purpose of life is to live.

  • "god gave us freewill" ?? freewill to torment and kill others ? what kind of freewill is that derbrender ?? LOL !

  • @bowmaker11 You can decide what you do. But at the end of your life you will face the consequences.

  • @derbrender As will you! You will be worm food!

  • In this video the Dalai Lama is not talking seriously, he's speaking half jokingkly, perhaps to people who are very uptight about the purpose of life - the video editing is somehow one sided; there are many other beautiful videos here on YouTube where he explains extensively what is this purpose so don't make your opinion just on this video - this is short sighed

  • @kamalawhite Then explain me please, what is the meaning of a Buddhist's life?

  • @derbrender On the relative level, it means being a good person & having compassion for other beings, understanding the law of karma & so forth, practicing meditation to calm the mind & to uncover wisdom, and on the absolute level, striving to attain enlightenment. Buddhism teaches that we all have the potential to become enlightened just as the Buddha did.

  • @kamalawhite And what makes you a good person? What is good in your eyes? Moreover, what gives you the power to fight the bad things? The human being is bad in it's core. You dont have to teach a child how to lie and how to steal. Where does this come from? So its wrong to seek "the good" inside us. We from ourselves can't be 100% good. Even compassion can bring you to fall (burn out). Furthermore, if i am a product of coincidence, why should there be any sense? Why no suicide?

  • @derbrender I never said I was a good person, although i'm striving to be one. Good means at the very least not hurting others. If one reflects properly & realizes other people are just like us - they do not want suffering, but want hapiness (and even those who dislike) then you will have an entirely different viewpoint on this subject. Children simply do not have enough experience of life to know what "it feels like". I am writing this from experience I've been a kid myself

  • @derbrender Continued : and I've learnt (at 9 yrs old) that hurting others does not bring satisfaction. But sharing with others, helping them, loving them and so on, does bring happiness. That why human beings are not bad in the core. You see, it's easier to do the bad things - but it's like sowing dead seeds. But doing good means you're spreading what is alive. Don't worry about 100%. Next, coincidence doesn't make sense, and suicide is considered a crime, a kind of self murder ...

  • @kamalawhite I agree in most points what you call good. But I dare to say that you aren't able to fulfill it by 100%. There are always cases in which you don't react correctly. This means you will try and try but never reach the point of perfectness. E.g. an addict. Most of them know in their heart that its wrong what they do but the can't get out by theirselves. So its all in all a useless effort. You will NEVER be perfect. So your life is aimless and useless.

  • @derbrender You're wrong - firstly, drug addicts do get cured, and of course they need help - that's alright. Secondly, even if you can improve yourself 80% or 70% that's a lot and your life will change and you will be happier & make others happier, even if not perfect - this sounds a bit of an excuse not to get started. And thirdly, you have to see the good side of things in life you seem to me to be stuck on the bad side of things & this negative attitude won't help you

  • @kamalawhite Buddhism has one big mistake, You seek the good in YOURSELFE. But man has it's limits. You can't pass them by yourselfe. And thats why you never will be perfect. Definitely. Look at science, visit a university. There are so many questions and every question brings up another one. Furthermore, there are so many questions you can't answer by 100% because there are just circumstancial evidences.

  • @derbrender Try it !

  • @kamalawhite I am a child of god and Jesus is my saviour. I need no meditation :)

  • @derbrender That's fine and I'm glad to hear it

  • @kamalawhite So why should I convert to Buddhism when it's leader can't tell me the sense of life? Is whole Buddhism senseless?

  • @derbrender I responded in a way to explain buddhism because if you remember, you asked. Nobody says you should convert, on the contrary, you should follow the spirituality best suited to you , the one beneficial to you. I also remind you that my first comment on this video was because it was one sided. There are many more serious videos on YouTube you can watch, not to convert, but just to have better information so you can make your own opinion - that's all ...

  • @kamalawhite So let's ask this question in a more general way: Why should any man convert to Buddhism? What does it offer?

  • @derbrender I just checked your channel - how can you ask questions about buddhism & all that if you have a video gloryfying warfare ? How can I take you seriously ... ?!!

  • @kamalawhite I am not glorifying warfare. It's a video in which I remixed the soundtrack of a video game.

    Where are your arguments?

  • @derbrender what the dalai lama is saying is that pondering the meaning of life is pointless, just live life and be happy.

also there is no "leader" in Buddhism just Teachers and Learners, which are one and the same

  • @MrBushmonster Just living is FAIL! Where do you come from and where do you go?

    So your life is senseless!

  • @derbrender I don't agree, I quite enjoy my life. Perhaps if you find anything in your own life not worth living for, you can try to change that?

  • @derbrender Convert or don't convert. It's your life. Follow your own path.

  • @xtremeroswellian But WHY should anyone convert? What can offer Buddhism to me?

When it can't give me sense in my life then its completely fail.

  • @derbrender Lol, again, no one is telling you to convert. Convert or don't. It's your choice. Unlike many forms of Christianity, Buddhists don't go knocking on people's doors telling them to convert or burn in hell. ;)

  • @derbrender All this has to be understood with the backround of budddhist practise. If one engages in meditation, it helps the mind to become clearer, calmer, so as to be less prone to react negatively & so forth - and it also strengthens it. Drug addicts have very confused and weak minds that's why it's so difficult for them

  • This man hasn't any sense in his life. He is so unsure and thats why he is giggling.

Here is the answer: The God of the bible is our sense. He created us and wanted us, we are no product of coincidence.

The proof: He gave the life of his own son, Jesus Christ, to save us from sin (doing wrong things that seperate us from god).

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3,16

  • @derbrender Proof????? Because some imbecil wrote (or dictated because he was illiterate) so in the "good book"!!! Bye the way, we are a product of evolution! That is a scientifically proven fact!

  • @Nevermore1953 Not yet. The process from the big bang till the human being is not yet proven.

  • @derbrender Your god is a sadist ! he did nothing when the nazis gassed and crremated 6000000 of his "chosen race" in world war 2.

    LIFE IS MEANINGLESS.

  • @bowmaker11 Hitler didnt rule forever. Maybe you should learn to see God behind the things. As you might know, since 1948 there is the state of Iseel.

God gave us a free will to decide if we want to follow him and nobody forces you to do so.

Why do you live if life is so meaningless?

  • Existence !! I could have told you that for nothing you ignorant fucking chink !

There is no purpose to life other than existence, now go and finesh picking your nose !

  • @bowmaker11 "Ignorant fucking chink???" Of anyone sounds ignorant, pompous, and vile here, it would be you! For shame!!!

  • Jesus is Lord ! The whole worlds lord ! Jesus the son of GOD loves you

  • @dianatalentgroup You know you loves me too? My dogs give me unconditional love and they get it in return.

  • Holy Shit, the Christians have come out in force once again! Jesus, Jesus and Jesus again! There are religions or paths of life thousands of years older than your 3 in 1 god with the fallen son you call the devil! There is no such thing! A ghost can't impregnate a human woman, nor can you be the father, the son and the ghost all combined in one, and being all knowing spawn the devil as well. Grimm's fairy tales as more realistic than that book you call the bible.

  • @Nevermore1953 LOVED your comment!!! you have stated it PERFECTLY.

  • @qwyzl Thank you! I am limited to the 500 characters in a post, otherwise I would have expressed myself in more detail! Happy New Year to you and yours!

  • @Nevermore1953 yeah, i get frustrated by the limited amount of "characters" one can use too! youtube makes other wise perfectly intelligent people express them selves like a second grader. you know, using the number "4" as the word "for" , having to abbreviate words and the like. but i LOVED your comment! happy new year to you too! by the way, your repetition of "jesus" reminded of, "marsha, marsha, marsha" - when jan from "the brady bunch" was jealous of her.

  • @Nevermore1953 Budda was born by way of immaculate conception according to lore. Trying to down one faith for another lacks compassion. Let's be civil and intelligent pretty please.

  • @calmman32 Well, at least Buddha's father was supposedly a white elephant. It's unbelievable what some women (and men) dream when they have sex! That said, I don't mean to down any person's faith in any particular god, what I stomp on however is religions, particularly those where the leaders (popes, pastors, imams and rabbies) have proven to be unsavory character who are anything but compassionate. I you wish I will give you detailed descriptions. Happy New Year!

  • @Nevermore1953 Thank you. Happy New year to you as well. Yes I agree, there have definately been abuses by people in power both religious and non-religious. Then there are the people that hide behind a religion is a reason for doing something when it really has nothing to do with it :) It would be kind of fun to start some post on those that were corrupt in history. The list would be long. Peace

  • @calmman32 So true! The atrocities committed by religious as well as political "leaders" might well even inundate the library of Congress! LOL!!!!

  • All religion are base on the same concept and principal of the natural law, conditional causation (cause and affect) which is running the whole universe.(included all difference dimension) But what the religion guide you to become? What dimension you will transfer to after you died. (e.g. Heaven or Hell) Check the history of "religions".see how many blood on their hand to forge people to believe their "God" and they make "God" like a dictator. after all, every person responsible for their own act.

  • Everything are created by our subconsciousness mind (our intention) so the universeour intention. That was Budda teach us three thousand years ago. We are all affected by the nature law which is cause by the conditional causation. (cause and affect) . All things created under the conditional causation and have a boundry. To leave out from "reincarnation"to fully understand the law of nature how to run. A Mi Ta Fu!

  • He does not have all the answers! Look to Jesus. If you draw close to God then He will draw close to you! The purpose of life is know God and to live for Him.

There is only one purpose to know your creator and be live life like it was meant to be lived (close with God) before sin entered the world.

  • @purpletree11 Oh and I guarantee you this that as you draw close to Jesus.. he will reveal the answers to your questions! I'm loving my life because of God's realness to me and his abundant love! Jesus is deep. There is a verse in the bible that says."(God) reveals his thoughts to man" So there is a way to find answers but you will only find them if yu look in the right place and its not with this guy in the video but Jesus Christ who came to unite humanity with God!

  • @purpletree11

Really as a Christian I agree with what he has to say no i am not a a Buddist, but if you as a christian judge anyone but yourself you are wrong. I do beleive you need to read over the book you like to quote, you will see that the message is very similar. We are to love everyone and lead a life that as of Jesus. I think you might need to open your mind to the real answers in life. Yes GOD answers your questions but the concept of religion is new for all people.

  • @USmarine0813 I'm sorry to say this from what I perceive you don't know Jesus and what His purpose was on earth -the meaning of the cross and the resurrection.Truth is sometimes hard to take but it still is the truth. Jesus said I am THE way THE truth and THE light. Not " a" truth "a" light "a"way. He is the only way to the God the Father. The purpose of life is to have a relationship with God; his son Jesus and to live for him that which occurs supernaturally as you surrender to God's will.

  • @USmarine0813 P.S. God isn't concerned with the concept of religion that you have. All he cares about is where your heart is at. And true that God calls us to love and we are truly able to love others(even enemies) with the same love of Christ through Christ by being in Christ. We are saved through faith and not by works... it's much more than a religion with Christ! IT's a relationship such as a best friend, a father etc. He's the best there will ever be and is! Amen! Praise Him!!

  • @purpletree11 srsly give up the Jesus worship and just try to be a compassionate, loving human being...God doesn't need your 'love' or 'praise' or Amens, just be kind...that is all (Gandhi said it best, "I like your Christ, your Christians not so much..they are so unlike your Christ"

  • @oneirishpoet I agree with you on that. But I'm sorry you took it that way I was simply stating an observation and there was no hate involved... I just wanted to share the truth I know which I also know to be imperative revealed to me by Christ himself. I agree though we can be very un Christ-like but that doesn't change Christ. Did you ever ponder upon that? Christ is good all the time yes unlike me.

  • Our purpose is to Love one another. To create new and wonderful life we first have to love All..

  • i believe this is what he's saying..... our existance is. no-one can argue that. also the feeling, the experience is there. no need to explain, or to prove. but then, what is the purpose of this life? what is the purpose of existance? on a deeper level, i dont know. but i think still... i think of it, at the phylosophical level. on a normal, general way[level], it doesn't matter. but the immediate purpose of life, is existance.
  • You'll only stress your self out worring about

why we are here, just enjoy it, live, love, laugh, and eat babies.

  • I understand.

  • i hope hes not enlightened

  • The purpose of life is to process the loving energy of our creator into the effects that continues life. the path is personally enjoyed Yin or Yang a persons perspective of life. A persons Ego is their compass of personal joy.

Joy is personally found or deposited in our cup of perspective, we drink from life's challis, and share our praise and comments with those we encounter. The cup of life is full or empty, and sweet or sour, relative to your thoughts and expectations of and in life. BV

  • he explained everything

  • Lama is a Moron lol

  • @DeadJesus100

    best comment !!

  • Lama preaching monkey science

    MORON

  • This religion is more of a philosoraptor view... I love Buddhism and Sikhs.......... very kool religions... Fuck christianity fuck catholicism fuckn islam most of all and fuck jedi's (lol) and all the rest..... they just breed hate and i myself am now breeding hate thats how they have affected me so for them to unnaffect my persons they must stop grrrr....

  • Dalai is a Retard

  • @DeadJesus100 actually he's the only religious leader who doesn't mislead his followers. instead he preaches at a very scientific level

  • @aniket413413 what does he preach? breath work lol

  • @DeadJesus100 that breath work helps u concentrate which leads u into higher stages of meditation. the consciousness of a being affects the matter around him( quantum mechanics theory). the breath work is used to go deeper into consciousness.

  • @aniket413413 Breath work is absolute nonsense, your body breathes by itself

It does not help it just maked your brain numb

  • @DeadJesus100 youve never tried it

  • @treyjohn18 ofcourse i have, its useless

  • @treyjohn18 been one of the most useful things for me, sorry you are not getting anything out of it.

  • @DeadJesus100

My goodness! I totally understand Voltaire's conception of infinity now.

  • @aniket413413 its controlling ur breath to concentrate i think u should watch videos of Tibetan monks who dry wet sheets on their body just by meditating. watch it n u will understand. but if u r just saying all this to piss people off. then u r wasting ur valuable ability to argue in this unfruitful way

  • LAMA IS A MORON

Just look at this idiots face.

    Nepotism made him the leader

  • LAMA is an Idiot

  • @DeadJesus100

If only you knew how enlightened of an answer "I DON'T KNOW" really is..

  • @itzahazylife

    Thats a krishnamurti special :)

Do you honestly live every second of your lifes saying I DONT KNOW?

  • @DeadJesus100

why does such a simple point have to turn into a debate?..he was asked the purpose to life..that's the greatest, most mysterious question there is. and he answered it in the most honest way possible..no one knows. the pope doesn't know..the dalai lama doesn't know..it's the only possible answer one can give to that question..

  • The purpose of life summed up in 1 minute 23 seconds ?? LOL

I think there is more to know personally.

  • As said by Agent Smith in the Matix Reloaded movie-

'It was purpose that created us, purpose that guides us, that drives us'

And god is behind that purposeful force in my opinion.

  • nice reply. you are lucky. Its hard being someone who has been searching for God and never hear sees tastes smells feesl anything near to what beleivers have. frustrating to say the least. 20 years of it to be precise. i am glad you live live in peace and your philosophy guides you through life as you see it and you take heart from the lama. wish I was you

  • @gezzad “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” -Buddha

  • @SirBraxton1989 do you know something. i can really relate to that quote. it would certainly take a weight of ones shoulders. A very good reply. thanks.

  • I dont think there is a subjective reason for life, it is just the physichs doing its thing, no reason, it just happens.

  • master of the obvious. 1:24 to let us know that. WOW how philosophical is this guy

  • @gezzad Ignorance will get you nowhere my friend.

  • @SirBraxton1989 its got me tis far my friend. there is no purpose to life. its only the clever and the rich who have a meaningful purpose. All the medicore middle class volvo pringle wearing jumpers plod on. and the agnostics beat their self up by asking themselves. Is there? I dont know! i wish i did because its driving me nuts. And the voice screams into oblivion. GOD WHERE ARE YOU I NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER. And do you know what. The reply never comes. I know. I am one of them sorry to say

  • @gezzad Well I'm an atheist and by no means rich, but I've found that one's purpose in life pertains to what that person enjoys doing most. We do not need religion for purpose, although some people find purpose in it, but only what makes us happy. My ultimate goal and my self-realized "purpose" is just to live my life with absolutely no regrets, just like the Dalai Lama said in the video. Of course I've always known this, even before watching this video, but I find wisdom in his teachings.

  • @SirBraxton1989

purpose comes from intention..we are conscious. we can exercise intention. we are the authors of our purpose. we can find purpose and assign purpose. some people cannot manage to settle on a purpose, so, they gravitate toward religion, because religion gives you your purpose.

  • @itzahazylife

Religion has been misunderstood and manipulated for hundreds of years, Jesus was continually threatened because he tried to set things straight, only a few really understand Christianity.

Your purpose what ever it is, is corrupted by your Ego, unless you became whole, all your actions that

are derived from your Ego (and since it's corrupted), will bring you more misery and suffering.

Jesus would say, you must be reborn again.

    k: )

  • @WolfEyesatNight

    Jesus is dead

    Religion is a virus

    Burn the Evil Bible

    today

  • @DeadJesus100

Ok, give me a good reason to burn any book.

The problem is, there's no book that's evil, only that person, who doesn't understand what he's reading.

(have you been to the public library?)

  • @WolfEyesatNight Have you read the old testament?

    Pure EVIL

  • @DeadJesus100

How do you know, when something is evil?

now think about this before you answer.

are you judging with the stored memories of your ego?

To judge anything including yourself, you must see into your ego first, not to judge your ego, but, to see it.

what is evil to you? but fear, which brings insecurity, division of self.

    k: )

  • @WolfEyesatNight

i do agree that we are many times corrupted by our egos..that's one of the biggest problems for human beings..but, we don't need to worship some supposedly divine man from thousands of years ago to fix that..we can look inside ourselves, and see past our egos without Jesus..I believe Jesus had many good things to say, just like many other people throughout history..

  • @itzahazylife

Agree, worshiping brings division, hate, violence hence suffering, also, if we want to mature psychologically,

we must have a revolution of the mind, a god takes away this power.

  • your name is not monsterouslly important

  • Wow, thankyou for sharing this video. Cheery greetings to the Dalai Lama. His laugh puts me at ease. What is our purpose? Well, I cannot answer either, only for myself. I'm thankful for the blessing of dreams and working to make them come true. Brings a lot of additional joy to living. Also many friends have dreams. I feel very excited and happy when great things, like their dreams, come true too.

  • @kuwis he said the immediate meaning of our life is existing. Purpose? He said he couldn't answer that.

  • wow such a smart words...

The porpuse of life is... existence. Wow.

  • @kuwis thats what i thought :)

  • Comment removed

  • Here's what I think about it: It doesn't matter why we're existing and there's not a chance for us to figure it out... but the one thing that's so important, and so powerful, that actually either keeps us alive, or lets us want to finish up with life is love. and that's it.

  • Will we ever learn to discern between our learn personal imaginings and the greater reality?

  • Anyone ever ask a dog what the purpose of life is? Or a wolverine? Or a whale? Or a tree? Or a mushroom? Of a single cell contributing to a mass of slime? All of threaded things experience life, though I doubt any conceive purpose. Or that all share a purpose. Those question implies all things do. This is only people personal values on the universe. This shows that our species still displays the infantile tendency to assume the universe revolves around ourselves.

  • I really like the message: It is very important to find out the meaning of our existance or life.

  • Why does life have to have meaning? We all have free will. I think what you do with your life is more important than the underlying meaning. It's always more impressive to make your way then to follow a certain path. If you choose to be loving and kind because you fear your fate after death, then can you honestly say you're as pure as someone who does it selflessly?

  • 'I don't know' ... good God, what a refreshing answer. I'm definitely going to investigate Buddhism further.

  • purpose of life .....? modern wafare 3 ...lol only joking its got to be just being happy ......

  • When I saw the Dali Lama in '99 he told the crowd that he knew the meaning of life. He paused and crept up toward the edge of the stage and said very softly, "To be happy. Happiness is the meaning of life."

  • religion is bullshit haha... every human has a brain and can do what they want so i think the thought of religion is bullshit because by following a religion u are a follower and are not bringing new thoughts to the table.... we need progressive humans who ill benifit the world not more humans who will over populate the world and do nothing about it... i still believe in good values and morals.. so dnt kill people hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • what a great man!

  • Well the dala lama didnt really explain much... ummm..maybe, or probably, our exsistance is just a random event.. created in a chemical soup , and then evolution.over time ,we have created our own purpose for existance.make the most of it, and time seems to go so fast, its getting scary.

  • The Dalai Lama will be forgotten soon. He waffles on about existance while super capitalists rape the world. He achieves nothing.

  • @KGMDMusic He achieves nothing for those who think of themselves as "nothing." He achives greatness to those who think of themselves as greater.

  • In this co inflame nnection, the local Chinese authorities restoring the power and water supply to the monastery which have been cut since 6th July the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, will help ease the tension

  • In view of the Tibetan people's strong feelings of such untimely and tragic death of someone in the prime of life, the CTA urges the Chinese authorities to act with restraint and caution. We feel that any disproportionate reaction to someone who sacrificed himself for his conviction will only an already tense situation.

  • @ThePissedoffant wow, ur right, science does seem to be backing this up. I suppose in a sense animals do feel compassion, hahaha, touche sir!

  • @ThePissedoffant did you just say a rat is capable of compassion? lol hahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahah!!!!!! - lay off the airplane glue buddy!

  • I like that guy :D he is laughing at us because he knows that nothing gonna change us or the way we live . We have to decide for our self's how we want to live !

  • @ThePissedoffant Good Deeds an Insult? Being Compassionate and loving to other people IS NOT an insult to God. How can u say that? The Dalai lama has a great spiritual insight on things and he teaches is what Jesus taught or somehow similar. God always forgives us and his mercy is unlimited. We are to fear love child for how can we fear God if he loves us. Fear means actually to respect and love God not to literary fear him. Im sorry but Ignorance of that I do not have. It is u who is ignorant

  • the purpose of existence is existence itself as simple as that :P, and of course plus the fun and the pain and all the experience nice package, the more love the more fun so make your mind love things and change things though your love, peace to everyone even the bustards, no reason to fight them they just need educations :D so lets teach, so lets take care of each other the wise and the stupid hihi funnyy....

  • Lol, did you really need to keep the first 2 seconds on this video ?

  • Didn't quite get the gist of what he said..((

  • He has the most beautiful soul.

  • This guy is a leader a mumbler

  • I'm sure he gets tired of being asked stupid questions like this. he's a bloke, a geezer, and people keep asking him the answer to life the Universe and everything and wanting him to say '42'. get a life and be happy with it, there's your answer.

  • What the fuck was that?! The Dorky Lama picks his beak at the beginning of the video , hem and haws, chuckles, nods his head, says there's no need to explain or prove our existence, ruminates over what the purpose of life is, admits that he doesn't know and goes on to say that it doesn't matter ha ha ha, concludes that the immediate purpose of our life is existence.

People around the World are paying good money to hear shit like this ?????

  • @westeightyone his message is good tho... he says that we dont need to get hung up on the purpose... we need to exist. and enjoy existing.

  • @skaternick91

You're filling in the blanks for him, proving that it's the listener not the speaker who determines what's being said in a conversation with the Dalai Lama. Save your money and have that conversation with one of your friends. BTW, ' I don't know and it doesn't matter' wouldn't satisfy anyone who has a painful terminal disease or people grieving the loss of loved ones through a senseless act ( ie - drunk driver, murder).

  • @westeightyone i feel sorry for you
