he doesnt LOSE his arm... the rasen-shuriken has the wind element which creates lots of small blades inside the rasengan which inturn cut off all the chakra tunnels in naruto's hand so he wont be able to get chakra flow into his hand... not LOSE his hand..

bcause that techenique baiscally destroys all ur chakra nevers if ur chakra nevers r destroyed u cant ever performe another jutsu when naruto was fighting Kakuzu he used the the rasen-shuriken at the point of the impact sadly the techenique was in a range of his arm there for cutting some of the chakra nevers but not all so if he used it again and cme in contact he would get all nevers cut and never be able to use that arm in a fight. thats y he throws it now.
