@articzonezz get a stick from wooden planks and then put coal or charcoal over the stick in the crafting menu. to get coal mine underground and to get charcoal get wood and burn it with wooden planks in a furnace. to get sticks get wood from a tree then turn the wood into wooden planks then turn the wooden planks into sticks.
