  • alrite God has killed many but God made us so he has the right to kill us whenever he wants and those killings were just because the people he killed were against him. Jesus however was because of his love for us so our sins can be cleansed by simply repenting

  • God, being the true tyrant that he was...when jesus was crucified, god snuck in the tomb, raised him from the dead, then let him go home with him. He didn't do that for Job's sons and daughters, nor any of the other millions he murdered...what a one-way Ass Hat.

  • Its disgusting to see people actually taking seriously what is written in the books of the bible that have been "accepted" as "truth" by vote in a human council. One of the hideous contradictions in the bible is that god himself gives a commandment saying that you are not allowed to kill, but at the same time the bible is full of examples where god himself kills or orders other people to kill, pillage and destroy. How hypocrite can you be and not realize this insane madness and stupidity.

  • None!!

  • In the day of Judgement what will you be charged with?

  • Those who say things about God like this video should know that it is prophesied in the Bible. My question is who do you put your hope in? If you put your hope in something that is non-eternal, then your hope will soon be gone. II Cor 4:18

  • The video is telling the whole story but let me help. Roman 6:23 "For the wages for sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life by Christ Jesus. Those who disobey God, expect to get your wages, but those who follow God will inheritent Eternal Life. Simple, God has rules whether you like if or not. Just as a your Father has rules, if you break the rules you have to suffer the consequences. Galatians 6:7 "God is not mock what so ever a man, sows that will he reap", plain and simple!!

  • @caccycacman That sounds like a lot of rationalization to me. What's sad is that it is for the benefit a twisted egomaniac. A fictional one at that. See, no matter how hard you believe in this, you won't convince anyone with verse from a poorly written book. Anyone who doesn't already buy into this, that is.

Just let us laugh at it in peace, I'm sure you think you'll have the last laugh when we all burn in hell, yes?

  • @assalane There are rules to life and if you break the rules, you have to suffer the consequences. To everything there is a bad side but there is also a good side and everyone can choose. I think people want their cake and eat it too.

  • @caccycacman yeah I know if you gather sticks on sundays you should be killed, and I know that kids should get stoned to death if they disobey their parents, as per biblical rule.

Again you won't convince anyone with this rotten line of logic.

But, you know, the best thing about a secular society is that we were able to shun all those bullshit rules for humanistic rules. Rules that were thought over and garanty a maximum of liberty. Something your religion never achieved.

  • @assalane Will you say the same about Islam?

  • @caccycacman Of course, why wouldn't I? The only thing that I'd change is my examples. My discourse will stay the same. Actually I know even more about Islam than I do Christianity.

  • @assalane Are you athietist?

  • Usually I conduct myself with a bit more decorum, even when faced with sicko's like the dude I just responded to, but this particular topic (hell) always hits one hell of a nerve.

The doctrine of hell is to me what red is to a bull, after all...

And you know what they say happens when you mess with a bull (you get the horns).

  • Believe or not it is interesting to tally up these numbers from the book considered holy but often blindly by its followers.....and ps....Satan killed those in book of Job BUT keep in mind that God gave him express permission so you have to split those I think.

  • @Greydjinn Yeah, but I felt bad for Satan. He's built up such an evil reputation that I had to throw the guy a few sympathy points.

  • don't forget god told saten to do that so you have to also add that to gods tally...

  • 14700 people think god is killing too many people, god kills them..... yep he IS killing too many people

  • There are consequences to our actions, if it were not so, we would be in a state of chaos. Justice often requires death.

If you had a child that was brutally murdered by someone, would justice be served if the the judge told that man he could go free with no consequences? Not!

Another vain attempt to make God look bad when the death of those men was just as they all were sinful. As a believer who knows the forgiveness God has extended to all man, anything this side of hell is grace.

  • @gallantentry

    "Justice often requires death."

Killing somebody is the easy way out, especially in Christian theology where you can repent before you're put to death and you'll not just get the easy way out, you'll get heaven. Fortunately none of that's true.

"If you had a child that was brutally murdered by someone, would justice be served if the the judge told that man he could go free with no consequences?"

It would be more like justice if the other option was eternal torture.

  • @Quintinohthree Killing is often the only way to resolve many issues. If German soldiers were not killed, they would have succeeded in conquering the world and we would all be under Nazi rule.

Eternal torture is the choice of every man when God has made a way to escape. We choose hell because we neglect the sacrifice God offered. God did it all for us through His Son. All we need to do is receive it by faith. There is no other way...it is your choice...hell or receive the gift of salvation.

  • @gallantentry

"Killing is often the only way to resolve many issues."

Often, but it won't solve crime. The opposite in fact. In war, there is no justice, there is only us and them.

"Eternal torture is the choice of every man when God has made a way to escape."

He didn't have to start the torture in the first place. An infinite punishment for a finite crime can never be justified.

But what does it really matter. None of what you have said has any validity to it.

  • @Quintinohthree You hope what I said has any validity to it, but there is a punishment for every crime. Eternal punishment is just especially if you know the consequences and reject a helping hand. That is pride to reject help when it is the only means by which one can be saved. Pride separates us from the truth...according to God.

There is justice in war if it brings about peace in the land...even for a time. It is a matter of preserving those who would otherwise suffer needlessly.

  • @gallantentry

"Eternal punishment is just especially if you know the consequences and reject a helping hand."

Eternal punishment for the crime of not believing the unbelievable which is itself just the largest sea in an ocean of incredibility is supposed to be just?

I will believe you if I can. If he exists God probably knows what can make me believe. Ask him. If he says nothing can, then don't bother because even in your own delusion I can not believe what you claim.

  • @Quintinohthree If it was "unbelievable" then why do people believe? And if you respond by saying that they are delusional you have not weighed the proof in the balances and are judging others based on what knowledge you have.

"then don't bother because even in your own delusion I can not believe what you claim."

It would seem you have already made your choice. However, God does not expect us to believe in Him blindly, there is plenty of evidence if you truly want to know the truth.

  • @gallantentry

"If it was "unbelievable" then why do people believe?"

It can be believed, but one must be convinced or indoctrinated before one can believe. I'm not convinced.

In the words of Aristophanes "Surely you don't believe in the gods. What's your argument? Where's your proof?"

You say you have the evidence, well go on then. Do not be afraid. Every skeptic would love for your assertion to be true so please do show that it is.

  • @Quintinohthree "It can be believed, but one must be convinced or indoctrinated before one can believe. I'm not convinced."

Not true. I personally can attest to otherwise. I believed after reading 3 verses in the Bible. I was convicted and I believed...that simple. It has more to do with our hearts than our minds. We don't believe intellectually, we believe with our heart. All the proof anyone needs is contained in the Bible.

I was not in church and there was no preacher indoctrinating me.

  • @gallantentry

"I believed after reading 3 verses in the Bible."

What makes you think those can't convince me? Well, unless those are Genesis 1:1-3. If they can convince you, then why not try and let them convince so many more? Which three verses convinced you?

  • @Quintinohthree Psalm 35, first 3 verses convicted me.

  • @gallantentry

1 Contend, LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.

2 Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid.

3 Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me.

Say to me, “I am your salvation.”

Doesn't do it for me. Especially given that the Dutch version says "Lord, when some argue with me, will You respond for me?" I find that somewhat ironic.

So, where's that evidence you were speaking of?

  • @gallantentry

    (cont.)

"receive it by faith. There is no other way"

    Now THAT is fucked up.

Instead of providing actual evidence we've got to take it on blind faith (read: gullibility) and fuzzy feelings, there's so much wrong with that system of redemption I don't even know where to begin.

Oh wait, I DO!, there is but one acceptable standard; judging ppl by whether or not they're good people (faith be damned).

Only a truly sick person can tolerate the standard you propose.

    (cont.)

  • @gallantentry Many of these scriptures have God killing people without warning and no chance of repentance. Including the slaughter of women and children. Is that "just"? If God knew they'd never repent, why did He give them lives and families in the first place if He planned to massacre them? How is that consistent with a loving, merciful God? If you were God, would you kill millions of people? Or would you, in your wisdom, offer them a chance to repent or give some alternative besides death?

  • @Discern4 They would not have ever repented and God knew this. As He can see into the future. God is just when he decides to remove someone or people out of the way.

When children die, they go to heaven and are in His presence. They have perfect peace. The women were set in their ways and God knew their ways would have crept into His people's hearts. He killed to protect His people just as you would kill to protect yours.

  • @gallantentry You're making very poor excuses for a murderous God. An omniscient loving God would not need to kill. In fact, an omniscient God would not burn with anger, because he would've seen it coming a mile away. Moses had to calm God down because his anger burned against the israelites. An all-knowing God would've seen their 'sin' coming a mile away and not be surprised. God was ready to kill them in a flash of anger, but Moses had to beg him to change his mind. Some omniscience!

  • @Discern4 and lets not forget that 'any' change in Yahweh's mind makes the argument that he's 'unchanging' moot. the argument that he is unchanging makes many things in the Christan faith, either moot or simply a waste of time. hell it makes life itself a waste of time when one truly thinks about it.

  • @gallantentry and... if your god was so wonderful, great, forgiving ect... then why oh why are there children up there on that list? if this god can manipulate reality itself. why do children need to die? why oh why do we need to take a life of someone who is just beginning to make their choices and developing themselves?

Why is it perfectly moral to kill someone who doesn't know what they do just as there are mentally manipulated folks on that list as well. why is this moral?

  • @Lotean The children are brought into His loving presence when they die. No more pain or suffering and no longer in a sinful state (body). There are a host of reasons.

  • @gallantentry what if the children were alright as they were and then, how does this make it better? So if I killed someone, but I essentially ate their 'soul' and made their afterlives better afterwards make what I did okay. And then you dodged the other part of my question.

Why is it okay to kill folks under mind control? Under your loving god's mind control no less... I'm sorry but these rationalizations are rather... weak and don't address the key issues.

  • @gallantentry Oh yes and please think before you launch into fear tactics. I.E. threatening me with eternal hellfire for questioning you. As you'd simply be proving my and most every other atheist's point

  • @gallantentry how can u say that killing of innocent women and children in lakhs is punishment to sins? Be open minded and admit that Bible is a text of violence and Jehovah is actually worse than Satan. Stop fearing demonic Gods who are worse than Satans.

I think actual Satan was Jehovah and it was his rule that the Christians were carrying out throughout history in innumerable wars and massacres in World Wars, Hitler to Jews, in the colonies of Europe, to Red Indians everywhere..

  • Everyone dies... ridiculous video. Nothing is in context.

  • wow, god is a bigger asshole than i thought..... Satan is a nice guy eh, well so is Frodo, Gandalf, Eragon, Arya, and a lot of other fictional characters

  • the one dislike is Christian

  • You didn't mention how Jephtha had to sacrifice his daughter when he got home from his 20 city massacre. God should get some of the credit for killing Job's children since he told Satan to test him. Great video. SUBSCRIBED.

  • Double-thumbs up! Well done! Thank you for that. v2.0 could include the people killed (like "witches" in the midage) and cultures removed from the face of the earth (like the Mayans, Aztecs,...) in the name of God or Christ. Contenders could be Hitler, Stalin, Bush (but wait, the last one killed in the name of God). Anyway, great work there!!! Michelle

  • @whichlilith Thanks!

  • @whichlilith Hitler also killed in name of god. Read mein keimph. Hitler was a roman catholic. Read it on the net, look at pictures.!

  • @Angelotube5000 Yeah, right! But explain then why christians and creationists always cite Hitler first when it comes to showing the "evil" of Atheism or Evolution for that matter? Well... christians ARE hypocrites, as is your pathetic god! Oh, and by the way, Hitler might have been a Roman Catholic, but the core conception of the Fascist agenda is found in the misinterpretation of Theosophy! Read history before arguing, please. I read the bible as well (waste of time, though)! xo

  • @whichlilith lol I think you made a mistake man. Read my comments I'm an atheist.

  • @Angelotube5000 LOL yes, it appears so. I am really sorry for that! I was a bit carried away that day ;-) Hope you accept my apology! Anyway, concerning Hitler and Mein Kampf, he wrote this when he was imprisoned, so long before his rise to evil power. Of course there is no doubt that he was a Roman Catholic, but his believes were clearly eastern-inspired, and guided his mass-murderous existence. Be it as it is, surely he was not an Atheist, but just one more of those blinded-by-faith-gone-mad!

  • @whichlilith it's ok bro! Try not to be like a theist next time LOL. Hitler was an austrian redneck.

  • @Angelotube5000 Okeedokee LOL. And yes, he sure was!!!

  • @Angelotube5000 Oh, last but not least, the correct title of the book is "Mein Kampf" ;-)

  • You didnt count people from Sodome and Gomorre as no exact number!

  • I think you missed 2 Kings 2:23-24 - God sends bears to rip 42 children to pieces as punishment for mocking a bald man. So now we know what the ultimate question is, the one where the answer is 42!

  • @deathray32 They weren't children, they were young men. Furthermore, it was not because they mocked a bald man, it was because Elisha was sent to preach in an area. The hostile men were stopping him from doing this. Let it be a warning to those who mock God and His word. Furthermore let it be a warning to those who would try to stop the preaching of his word which gives life.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.

  • That music... is that "Commando" (C64)?

  • What's interesting is this doesn't just prove God is a bastard, but also the amount of exaggerating there is in the bible, surely there wasn't enough people on earth that was said to die.

  • @truckcompany Yeah, and here's something else: In Exodus, God starts with about 1 million Hebrews/Israelites including women and children (Exodus 12:37), but by the time 1 Kings is written (1 Kings 20:15), there's only 7,000 Israelites remaining! God annihilated them! They would've been safer if they were not "under God's protection"!

  • @Discern4 When i read The book, God: The Failed hypothesis, According To an FBI report, almost 80% of the prison population Is Christian, While Atheists Make up 0.2%. Oh, I have Aspergers, Thats why i used to hate god, but then God doesnt exist so i stopped hating him, But I hate all religions, for they re bullshit

  • Congratulations, you can count. Do you understand God's standard for who is good? There is what He did, but you do not address why He did it.

In some cases, loving a person means that the person needs to experience the consequences of their actions. This suggests how serious sin is in God's view, not how horrible God is. What WOULD be horrible is if God saw injustice and did...nothing. Damned if He does, damned if He doesn't? Seems you'll reject Him no matter what, you just feel like it.

  • @Falkon85 The Israelites killed thousands of people under God's command, yet how many times do you remember God warning the non-Israelites of impending judgement?

    So:

    1. In most cases, God does not warn them or tell them to repent of their ways.

    2. God executes judgement on them without telling them what it was for. What's the point of punishing someone if they don't know what it's for? Is that merciful?

And if you say God knew they'd never repent, why not smite half the world's sinners today?

  • @Falkon85 Are you stupid?

  • I fast forwarded.... but did he really kill babies...? somebody be honest with me...

  • @UltimasIsland Yes.

Two things I will point out. First, sin is very serous in God's eyes. Second, there is good reason to believe, based on scripture, that those babies would go to Heaven and have no more pain and suffering. Food for thought.

  • @Falkon85

So by your reasoning, you're doing a favor by killing a babies? Since they will go to heaven.

    That is very sick....

  • @truckcompany Food for thought doesn't mean you claim I said something which I did not. God is the only true judge, and He is also the Father. Sometimes the responsible father has to punish his children, if they deserve it. Or make an example to prove a point. Saw it often in boot camp, many were punished for the mistakes of few.

Sometimes we don't take something seriously until we see it hurt someone we love.

  • @Falkon85

"you claim I said something which I did not"

It is a logical outcome of your reasoning, not my reasoning, yours.

"Saw it often in boot camp, many were punished for the mistakes of few."

These boot camps have calculated reasons why people are punished, so they won't do it again etc.

What is the reason for letting someone get tortured in the lake of hell fire for eternity with no escape? What crime could EVER justify this act of sadistic violence

  • @Falkon85 said " that those babies would go to Heaven and have no more pain and suffering. Food for thought."

Uh-huh, and if you were God would you do the same? Kill babies and children "since they'll go to heaven anyway", causing enormous suffering to the parents, and meanwhile the parents haven't got a clue why you did that, because you never warned them or gave them a chance to repent. Does that sounds like a fair, merciful God?

The christian God is a disgusting, hypocritical being.

  • Satan doesn't look like such a bad guy

  • that was a close match...

did you take the second music from blazing star video game right?

  • @omri9325 said "did you take the second music from blazing star video game right?"

    Yes, well spotted!

  • to be fair, god is the one who gave life to begin with.

    if he existed, that is.

  • What is the music from? Just asking.

  • @PhantomSephiroth remixes of the Commodore 64 game Commando.

  • Awesome presentation. And a great discussion starter for those Jehova's Witnesses when they appear at my door next time.

Judging from the current events worldwide, all the religions based on the lore in the Old Testament seem to be extremely violent: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Maybe one should become a Satan worshiper, which in this light, seems like a true path to peace.

  • @finntrask Jehovah's massive killing streaks was one of the biggest reasons why I hated going door-to-door. If someone brought that up, I knew I couldn't argue His side effectively. That and the billions that are going to die at Armageddon! Our message really boiled down to "Join us or God will kill you!" Explains why I had ulcers as a kid!

"God made me an Atheist! Who are you to question His wisdom?!"

  • @finntrask Based on current events? Easy to claim when some people claim to be Christians then don't obey the Bible.

Name a current event in which Christians were violent AND keeping the commandments of Jesus. Is there one?

  • :) great work :)

  • better luck next time satan

  • WAIT A SECOND... If god created the world, that means he created satan! And Hitler! And Stalin! And caused all the wars of mankind!

    ........

    .......

    -Brain explodes-

  • @saiyanmage Ever heard of freedom of choice?

  • @Falkon85

Yes, yes. Now how about you go back to whatever hole you crawled out of?

  • @saiyanmage Yes, yes, and those individuals chose their own actions.

No wonder your brain exploded. First a false premise, then emotional condescension. Just means you're desperate and have nothing but emotion to back up your misrepresented position. Have fun with that.

  • @Falkon85

Let me tell you something. two premises.

    1) The bible is a piece of fiction.

    2) Even if it is not a piece of fiction, it's definitely a piece of SHIT. Calling for genocide, genital mutilation, racism, bigotry, hatred of others who disagree, slavery, etc.

Guess what, you're someone who defends this concept.

Feeling proud now, shithead? Didn't think so. Seethe in your anger, let your hatred consume you, and then come to me again. It will never be enough, though.

  • I'm sure God stole Satan's kill, just to be sure he remained the best.

  • good thing i have iron chariots. i will kick gods ass if he trys to mess with me.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't believe this doesn't have more views...

Even if maybe the content is old news (but seriously what ISN'T old news when it comes to theology?) the presentation is incredibly well done.

  • @TheStigma It's very difficult to get views on YouTube these days. It used to be a lot easier when there were less users.

This bible content may be old to atheists, but to many christians on the fence, it's a revelation :)

  • @Discern4 Very true that. I think the key to getting it viewed would probably be to get it favorited by one of the more well-known and well-subbed theist youtubers. I would send it to a few people whom you follow if I were you - and ask them to consider favoriting it if they think it's worthy. I hate "begging", but I don't see anything wrong with letting people know it exists. As I said I think the presentation is great and it can stand on it own two feet.

  • I found this account of killings very interesting and at the same time terrifying. It just made me aware of something that may or not come into account: The number of men, women and children killed in the name of any of the gods invented by other men. That number would be really scary.

  • 0:34 is awesome.

  • actually, there were usualy more than one person maning a chariot, usualy one driver and one archer

  • Comment removed

  • @rkyeun I think it would destroy ALL religions. After all, the only way they keep going is by constantly weaseling around their definitions of who God is and slagging others. If God actually existed, they would no longer own the right to make up His attributes, so they would instantly become irrelevant. Honestly, if God existed, why would he need priests, imams, bishops, rabbis or any other interpreters to speak for Him? Surely omnipotence includes the ability to communicate comprehensibly.

  • @rkyeun Oh, well YOU'RE no fun. I'm just saying, it's the horns of a dilemma. Clearly if God DID exist, in order to be pro-life, the Vatican would have to ban Him (which would be about as effective as the Indiana Legislature attempting to declare that Pi would equal 3.0, but hey, it keeps them off the streets).

  • Funny video! But how many people does God kill in REAL life? Well, 2/3-3/4 of all conceptions ends in miscarriage in the 1st trimester, so God aborts at least 66% (up to 75%) of all "pre-born babies," without regard to whether they are wanted or not! At a rough calculation, God murders 7 babies EVERY SECOND (over 2,000 during this video), which exceeds his Biblical body count every nine days, or more than ten million babies every year. So God isn't just a wanton butcher in His book of fables.

  • If god & the devil exist then I am plumping for the devil. He seems far nicer!!

  • I like you're use of video game sounds. Really.

  • Excellent. Love this :D

I could not help laughing at the end..

  • dat ending

  • WoW! It's a good thing He was God, or else there might of been trouble. Sheesh!

But I am sorry that he violated your planet though.

Oh yeah, don't forget The Great Tribulation to come, go ahead and add 3,000,000,000 to your counter so we can see it now. I wonder how many atheists will be among that number. Oh wait atheism as a concept will be vanquished at that point. The wrath of God's a doozy, good luck with it.

  • Why not call the last death (Jesus) a suicide? lol

  • Ha ha ha! the most epic video I've seen in months!

    Great job Discern4!

  • Not counting all the gods in other religions who have killed or helped kill millions of men and women.

  • I love the music. Is some of it from sonic the hedgehog?

  • @IKillBabyKittensLOL Actually yes, well done. When God kills 1 million Ethiopians, the music plays from Sonic when he gets 100 rings. 4:58

  • @Discern4 I'm guessing that when you broke free of fundamentalism you had a great reservoir of games to experience.

  • @rkyeun said: "decides to go ahead with his plan of creation anyways"

That's because He's righteous and if you don't agree, He'll kill you.

  • I killed this many dudes playing commando as a kid.

  • @d0Nk3Rz Give God a Commodore64 - I guarantee He'll kill more than you :)

  • @Discern4 Hah, I believe it; My arms are a bit short for that match-up. ^^

  • Jesus is God, God kills Jesus, God kills himself. Catholics believe that suicide is an unforgivable sin. Jesus goes to hell. God's in hell. Poetic justice bitch!

  • Also satan only killed job's kids with god's express permission so really they can be added to god's tally

  • Comment removed

  • I LOL'd!

  • Haha, too funny!

  • @maidofboardome We all will stand in judgment, the judge will declare us guilty because none is perfect. The judge will say your punishment. But the only perfect man steps in and says "I will pay their debt" and he did. He died on the cross. God killed Jesus looked at him as a criminal and gave him the punishment we deserved but he will not be conquered by death this is God we're talking about! He raised up, he will come back. We don't know when but oneday all will know and declare him lord

  • @VVAANNEE101 If the wages of sin is death, and our punishment is eternity in a lake of fire, why is Jesus in heaven instead of paying for our punishment in hell? If the punishment for our sins is eternity in hell, the same should be for Jesus if He truly took the punishment for us.

And how is it truly a sacrifice if Jesus is God and can just come back to life again? It's hard to be grateful for a sacrifice that isn't really a sacrifice from a God that can't die.

  • @Discern4 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" That is what Jesus took. And who said he didnt? lets research btwHe gives us the simple choice to go 2 heaven the question is will you take it? Jesus says to be saved you have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior repent from our sins. This doesnt mean we have to follow rules or be perfect, we must turn from what we know is wrong and follow Jesus trust him so we may be like him, perfect

  • @Discern4

Jesus didn't spend and eternity in Hell because He Himself was sinless. This is how He was able to take our sin upon Himself and yet conquer death.

It was a true, and the mightiest of sacrifices because He was separated from the Trinity for the first time in all of eternity, with the loss of His glory as He became a man in the flesh and then died for our sins. I believe that fact that He separated Himself from the Trinity was the greatest part of the sacrifice.

  • @kevinrspBelieves said "Jesus didn't spend and eternity in Hell because He Himself was sinless."

The animals sacrificed in the OT were sinless as well, but they died a permanent death to atone for sin. If Jesus was the final sacrifice, shouldn't He die a permanent death? Or at least spend eternity in hell to take our place?

@kevinrspBelieves said "He was separated from the Trinity for the first time in all of eternity"

Do you have a scripture reference for this?

  • @Discern4 Animals do not and cannot sin. Sin doesn't apply to animals one way or the other. The sacrifices in the OT were simply a picture type of what was (needed) to come. It was a practice to show how horrible dealing with sin was and that we couldn't handle doing this forever. It drove us to acknowledge the gravity of our eternal debt and how despicable sin is. Likewise the 10 commandments were never meant to be upheld after sin, they were to show us of our inescapable need for a savior...

  • @kevinrspBelieves said "Animals do not and cannot sin. Sin doesn't apply to animals one way or the other."

It could be argued that Jesus can't sin either (tempted, yes, though that contradicts God not being able to be tempted, James 1:13) . Either way, that doesn't solve the problem of a sacrifice that is not really a sacrifice, and does not meet the punishment requirement.

  • @Discern4 "It could be argued that Jesus can't sin either"

Is this argument of yours from inside or outside of the Bible? I don't find that in the Bible I read. I'm sorry you presuppose things that I don't buy into. I don't see there being a problem with the sacrifice as you do. It makes complete and accounted for sense to me. You're attempting to presuppose an argument that is invalid and non existent to begin with. However we are entitled to our own views.

  • @kevinrspBelieves thank you for your comments, kevinrspBelieves!

  • @Discern4 ...said "He was separated from the Trinity for the first time in all of eternity"

"Do you have a scripture reference for this?"

"About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" - Matthew 27:46.

Because God can have nothing to do with sin, He had to separate and turn even from Jesus as He bore our sins on the cross. A break in the Trinity for the first time in all eternity.

  • @kevinrspBelieves said "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Matthew has Jesus quoting a Psalm right before He dies. That same psalm says "Nor has He hidden His face from Him, but when He cried to Him, He heard" (22:24). The psalmist makes it clear that God did not reject Jesus. (that's even if it's a prophecy, which it's not)

And even if there was a break in the Trinity, Christians would be polytheists, worshipping two Gods for at least a small period of time: God/Holy Spirit + Jesus.

  • @Discern4 Jesus is the Son of God and was always in communion with the Father. Jesus was cut off from the Father, not the Father from Jesus. The Father still retained authority. This is how the Father was able to raise Jesus from the dead. The communion was cut off, not Jesus' God-ship or position. The Trinity was always intact as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It's the communion that was severed for three days.

  • @Discern4 Seems you're bashing something you don't properly understand. That's messed up, buddy.

All those who reject Him have their own judgement sentence to bear, since His gift must be accepted to be valid for a person. He suffered the pain we deserve, so that it was indeed dealt with. However, because Jesus is God in the flesh, He had the power to take that punishment and not be destroyed by it. He let it kill the body of flesh, but God's power was used to raise it afterward.

  • @Falkon85 said "because Jesus is God in the flesh, He had the power to take that punishment and not be destroyed by it."

How does that help all the people killed in the OT? Where was their chance at repentance?

And whoop-de-do, God sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins. Who cares? Jesus just comes back to life again. At least in the OT, the sacrificed animals STAYED dead - that's the whole point of a sacrifice. Doctrinally, Jesus should be in hell taking our place instead.

  • @Discern4 First, the people in the OT had strayed and rejected God long before that wrath came to them.

Second, you're comparing apples to oranges. In OT animal sacrifices, they were simply killed, and it was the blood being shed that made the difference. Jesus shed that blood. Animals are not God, and don't have a soul. Jesus is, and does.

  • @Falkon85 said "Animals are not God, and don't have a soul. Jesus is, and does."

It's irrelevant. God 'sacrificing' himself is not a real sacrifice if Jesus is now sitting at the right hand of the father. Not to mention God waiting thousands of years before performing this convoluted act of sending himself to sacrifice himself. Thousands of people died without redemption from God because God didn't offer Jesus from the beginning.

  • @Discern4 You're confusing the principle. It's a finite difference, but still more than we are capable of paying by our own strength. If you had to pay a sentence of 1000 years in prison, you can't pay that by yourself if you live no more than 100 years. If Jesus, as an immortal, paid that, He would satisfy the sentence after 1000 years but would not need to stay in prison forever.

  • @Falkon85 The punishment for our sins is eternity in a lake of fire. If Jesus truly took that punishment, He should be in hell for eternity.

  • @VVAANNEE101 I guess this is open for interpretation: you find Jesus "sacrifice" as great, I find it utterly pathetic. I don't need a scapegoat, I don't need a savior. I take responsibility from my own action instead of accepting that a stranger supposedly sacrificed himself for my sins. Personally I say : fuck of Jesus if you ever existed

  • @VVAANNEE101 Havn't you heard?

There aren't really and gawds! =D

  • @VVAANNEE101 I'm so sick and tired of hearing ignorant little thumb sucking, skirt holding, fairy tale believers like you whine on and on about the same stupid fucking nonsensical BULLSHIT.. I used to debate little devil-dodging moronically faithful monkeys like you. Past tense. It took me a while, but I finally learned that your all the same, and when someone starts backing you into a corner showing you how silly your beliefs are, you cower like little bitches, and say "Your going to hell" lol

  • @DynamikFactDiffusion Did you debate with insults, too? No point discussing reason and facts with someone too emotionally desperate to listen. Religious people have wrongfully done that too, but it's just as jacked up either way so that's no excuse for you.

Is your comment how a gentleman would really speak?

  • @VVAANNEE101 Jesus isn't coming back. If he does, he won't even last a week before the Catholics eat him.

  • God is good. Which is why he is qualified to be judge. He is perfect and all knowing. But God is not fair. If God were fair. We would all be in Hell. But we aren't and we don't have to be in the future either. We all deserve to go to hell. But God loves us so much that he decided to step down from his thrown and pay the debt. The bible says that the wages of sin is death. but jesus came and paid the price. he was glad to do it, because he loves us that much!

  • @VVAANNEE101 I say that part of being perfect is being fair, by what standard are you saying God is perfect?

  • @VVAANNEE101

"God is good." By what standard, I wonder. His own? This character is certainly not good by my standards. His massive body count is just one way in which he fails to meet my moral standards.

  • @VVAANNEE101

Why do we all deserve hell? Because we fail to meet the standards of a being who supposedly designed us, this universe, and the very rules by which it all operates? And the only punishment that is fair is absolute punishment? Sadism and overkill at its best. I treasure every day I've lived since I escaped your masochistic religion.

  • @VVAANNEE101 do not cast your pearls before swine. arguing with non believers is a waste of effort and time

  • couldn't satans ten technically be give to god as well since he allowed the killing? In which case satan would merely be an agent of god...right?

  • @Requiemxtoxinnocence Definitely, Satan's kills are actually God's when you think about it. But Satan's built up such an evil reputation that I didn't have the heart to take away his 10 points :(

  • you could count all of the devils death as God's as well, for he allowed for satan to do so. for he is the giver of life and he takes away, that is what Job said, so satan has even less power. and all life existing on earth, also, by God's hand, so everyone who has lived and died, too. Peter 5:8 talks about the soul of mankind, but you knew that, you did your research. so, God will always win this contest, but the question is, do you want to be on the winning team, or the losing team? :P
