1. She wasknown as Sister Benedicta, never "Teresa".
2. She was persecuted like other Jews in the occupied Netherlands (1940-42). The Nazis offered to exempt baptised Jews from deportation in 1942 in order to buy the silence of the Catholic bishops. The bishops went ahead with their protest - the "exemption" was withdrawn (and Sister Benedicta was deported).
3. Why not say that Breslau, "now Wrocław in Poland", was then in ... Germany? Edith Stein saw herself as German - and nothing else.
I intend to obtain some of her writings. Does anyone know what miracles surround her beatification?
