Thanks for your comments. I'm a Hongkonger, and I'd like to tell a fact that Hong Kong is a small city, it is one of the possible way to build a cross country course, we don't have any other choice. Hope you can understand our situation, and enjoy the 2008 equestrian even with us.
I used to live in HK. My family and I thought it was a brilliant solution ;D When we first heard the equestrian games were being held there, our first question was "Where in HK?? Happy Valley???"
haha me too! i was at a show in the warm up arena and i was riding my 17.1 hh gelding and some girl with a pony cut me off in front of a jump i wanted to go over and then turned and yelled at me for something she did and i totally felt like running her over.
where i am, there is only one facility in our county with a cross-country course and it is a 20 minet trailer ride away! we would school more if it was closer!
omg ... 20 minets thts not so far compared with the time i have to travel... almost an hour... but i go there once a week... but we have 2 small courses built in our paddocks ...
the dressage PHASE of the 3 day has happened already, not the regular Grand Prix Dressage. They are two seperate parts of the Equestrian which is divided into - 3 Day or Combined Training, Dressage - the highest levels where horses ONLY do Dressage, and Show Jumping.

it's because the cross country course was built on a golf course. They had to turn it back into a golf course once the olympics were over

I know but I thought that was cool

I think that it was funny that they turned a golf course into a cross country course.

The events have already started (9th August). Some of the Dressage has already taken place and the rest will follow on from now.

Big kudos to the HK Jockey Club - if anyone could plot out a world class equestrian facility on a tiny island it's them.
