This band is really great. I saw them in an aftershow to the 2007 Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin (after some members had played as the New Pornographers earlier in the day), and even though they were exhausted and I was only able to catch the last quarter of their show this song was their finale and kind of blew everyone away. The lead male singer/guitarist drew a personal doodle on my copy of their album and after their show they got drunk and were absolutely hysterical for the two following shows.

I can't get this song out of my head. I got their album Fables a couple of days ago (after seeing Kathryn at a New Pornographers show) and I'm addicted to it now, but I don't want to listen to it too much straight away otherwise I'll get sick of it. Gah, damn her sweet voice and catchy songs!

No. That is Kathryn Calder.  She is in both Immaculate Machine and The New Pornographers. Neko Case doesn't even look like her.

Not Neko. Kathryn Calder. She is the other female member of the band. She sings vocals too and will fill in for Neko's vocals when Neko isn't around.

Immaculate Machine is an awesome band... Can't tell if they're trying to be funny or just artsy but either way, randomness is the result.
