Was it me or Did Ben didn't Smiley in the later shot of him in the older shot he was smiley and when they shoot the later shot of him in the intro he was unhappy about something! & I have The reunion movies, I have all of them on a 4 discs collection
Would it have killed Ben and Jim Bob to get an early 60's haircut...they would be in their 40's then and not some beatniks...but still...i love The Waltons
Did anyone else notice that in the opening credits of the final 3 reunion movies some of the characters pictures of when they were "younger" were all the same? I don't get it. Yes, I liked a "buffed" Ben and I also liked that his hair was longer!!
Yeah, the show was never the same after Ellen Corby had her stroke, even when she came back to the show, I for one missed her grumpiness and biting everyone's head off!! Then Richard left, which, as far as I was concerned after seeing that lump of clay playing John-Boy, was pretty much the death of the character John-Boy!! And worse of all and sadly, Will Geer dying after the filming of season 6 had wrapped up. The show suffered greatly because of these 3 events; it was never the same afterwards
@scooter36able Robert Wrightman could never act as well as a lump of clay.I wish they hired a lump of clay! He was the worst actor i have ever seen on a major network show.
IDK how in the world i got to this video and have no idea what this show is about but just from this clip i want to see it. I'm gonna go google it haha and see what i can find.
That was such a wonderful TV show. And it wasn't quite so warm and fuzzy as people like to remember. While there was definitely a strong family core we're all attracted to, the show very ably tackled the issues of the day -- the horrible Depression, the storm clouds of WWII, racism, attitudes about drinking and women, etc.
It was wondeful TV for many reasons -- well-written, well-produced, well-acted. it was HONEST to the core. I think that's we responded.
all the Walton men got fat! What's up with that?

Will Geer no doubt was the greatest actor on the show, then he had to die :(
He was the Humor in the show, I think when he died the Humor left the show but i still think it was the best thing on television

@scooter36able Robert Wrightman...the only 'actor" who would do a worse job than a lump of clay.

@MrWackypackages Not each episode, no. In general they revised the selection of shots a bit for each season, and when somebody left.

God bless the Walton's that brought us so many years of joy. P.S. I like the first versions in the early 70's.

@roosevelthighschool Yes, she was, but very, very briefly - just a cameo. She died two years later.
