  • girly song for such a buff robot

  • Trash 2010??? you're very kind...

  • Oh I see. This is the newly animated opening to the OVA, not the one that occurs in the series. I'll try to get the latter uploaded one of these days.

  • super sentai > power ranger , golion > voltron ...clear yet?

  • 曲と内容がアンバランス・・・

    しかし、それが良い!!

  • The would be the most awesome transformer ever! Surprised they never brought it over in the 80's

  • I wish Final Dancougar was in the anime.

  • やってやるぜー

  • Such a QUALITY series, yet the music was so awesome.

  • A certain charm about anime was lost when they stopped using cels and switched to using computers.

  • 1980's-1990's anime are still the best...

    2000-present not so much....

  • Can they dress any more 80s style?

  • definitely I have to buy this series.

  • sayonara old anime forever// I feel I cant see even a good anime like old anime forever

  • I never see Mazinger in this animation style, Is the same Robotech animators, they are great!! I hope some day some one will do it.

  • Really fun show. You can tell their budget was a bit eh though, some real zero budget animation at points.

It's AWESOME at other points though, they've obviously saved their cash for the points where it mattered.

  • One of my first Mecha series back when finding Anime was a pain in the ass.

  • ケロロ軍曹で最終回のシーンがパロられてましたね。

    ケロロファンの年齢層でどれだけの方が気付けたのでしょうか?

  • 全く本編と関係ない主題歌の走りです。

  • The title says "Super Beast Machine God Dancougar"

  • Dancougar was an awesome super robot anime. I've got the whole thing on VHS which I first rented from a comic shop whose owner I'm good friends with. Now they're mine because he blew out all of his VHS to make room for DVD's. Would love to see this on DVD.

There was one episode where a supporting character was named "Dan Ackroyd", set in Canada, too! Shinobu's battle cry of "Yatte Yarouze!" stands out. Good show.

  • is this show really from 1985? it doesn't look that old.

  • I know. Judging by how stylish it the art and animation is, it looks like it's only from a few years ago. In fact, some of us anime fans may say that it looks kind of modern to a certain degree. But the truth is, a lot of anime had this kind of sophisticated looking animation since the 80s.

  • @MDthornton83 If they had a decent budget of course.

  • go check vifam(1983)and u will see another example...modern anime began in the 80 era...

  • @moriya2k2 becuz 1980, 1990 was really good world than this trash shit 2010

  • @gundrag000 I don't know, Gainax has been putting out some quality stuff.

  • @moriya2k2 gainax has no some plan to make new mechanic anime. they plan to make some girl anime in now...

  • @gundrag000 The "girl anime" is being made by the entire staff of Gurren Lagann, and was created by You Yoshinari (Diebuster). Don't underestimate Hiroyuki Imaishi, he's one of the best.

  • @moriya2k2 are you talking about this anime "Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt" ?? .....

  • @gundrag000 Yeah

  • @moriya2k2 did you see that anime's PV ??

  • @gundrag000 I did. I actually like that they're trying an entirely new style. It's not like Hiroyuki Imaishi hasn't done something this crazy before, watch "Dead Leaves".

  • @moriya2k2 who is that ? Hiroyuki Imaishi ? idk.

  • @moriya2k2

So it'll be good, decent fun that everybody claims is the greatest thing ever?

  • @gundrag000 So you're a hipster faggot? I've loved a lot of anime from the 2000's to now.

  • @kkofthefunkoffv3 That... was an eleven month comment.

  • @MisterHeroman Meh I've seen some of my older comments get replied to later on, no big deal.

  • @moriya2k2 It is from 1985.

  • @moriya2k2 80s animation in japan was already very good, the only difference is a bit of graininess on the screen.

That being said, substance in 70s and 80s completely surpasses modern anime

in mecha anime alone you already have a bunch of classics that aren't even touched by current mecha anime:

combattler v, voltes v, this, getter robo, mazinger z, the first mobile suit gundam, etc :P

  • hey... i remember that blonde guy.. his condor was bigger and cooler than the other one. That was a split flashback into my youth.(deep deep into my memories)

  • This anime reminds me of Voltron.

  • @MDthornton83 Golion >_>

  • Yep.

  • @Rodimus1138 Don't start with this shit. It was Voltron in the US and most people remember it as that. I hope you don't go around on the comments section of Power Rangers videos demanding that we all call it Super Sentai.

  • I definitely remember this. Catchy theme song. Nice beat to it.

  • too bad alan had to die

  • SPOILERS

  • only five of them?

  • One of them dies

  • What exactly did Dancougar fight in this anime? I mean, at least Voltron and the Megazords had some monsters to fight.

  • They did fight monsters and alien forces.

  • Where to buy the japanese version in the U.S.? Great Show!

  • I found an old copy in a video store for VHS, it's all subbed.

  • i have the first VHS in a used book, game, CD, and show store called McKay's and i believe that there are more of them there.

  • Interestingly, this is the 1st OP on the US release.

  • I didn't even know this got a US release. As for being the first opening, maybe it's because they wanted a flashier, brighter opening? This certainly meets that critera.

  • Dangougar is awesome
