Hi, id like to build my own telescope one day and for now i am just collecting raw information to get an overview about techniques, expenditure, concepts and the whole stuff around. i know that it is possible to get a spherical shape with this teczhnique, but how do you know that you reached the desired focal length and how do you get a parabolshape by that?
This grinding stand i only used for hogging out, i switched to a barrel with sandbags afterwards.
I finished the mirror a while ago, i have focal lenght of 1500mm or an F5. I finished the mirror to 1/12 lambda which im very happy with. Im still in the process of constructing the telescope. I expect it to be finished in september.
Im using an octagon aluminium full tube.
Im already thinking of starting a new project! Seems you canst stop after just one telescope :-)
шлифует одно и тоже место когда крутит нижний диск в лево а правыйт в право!! получается шлифует одно и то же место,,, ни чего не понимает!!!:)))

How did the telescope go?

Interesting technique and grinding stand. How is the mirror coming along? What is your desired focal length?
Best regards,
