@theoldstoryteller "get a little bloody"? Bring it on. Freedom loving patriots would welcome it seeing that we have the wherewithal and gumption based on our history of fighting over-reaching governments and peoples....
Scott Walker is a courageous man. He doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting by the union thugs and other progressive neanderthals. Go Scott Walker you're doing the right thing.
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants."- Thomas Jefferson. You want change, freedom? Than you must bleed for it.
Obama and Trumka are in bed together to turn this Country into a Socialist Society, Trumka is a Socialist and so is our President, look at how Obamacare was past!! We need to protest in D.C. like the Democratic party has been protesting in WI. Jessi Jackson is the dumbest person on this planet, he has no clue what the hell he is even in WI for? Besides that Obama asked him to come here! He has no idea what he is talking about! Walker did the right thing!! To save the State of WI. Obama your turn
The Leftards are showing us who they really are. Everyone else is cutting back and making do with less, what makes gubment employees so special that they "deserve" more and more. We're broke, not gonna happen, Rock on Scott. Oh, and is it ok now for the Fugitive Fourteen to come back and do something? Take your time leaving Illinois, we didn't really need you after all.
The only union we need is a taxpayers union. Public employee unions are at war with the very people that they expect to pay their wages. These liberal goons have utter contempt for Americans. Obama, the NPR execs, the NY Times are finally revealing themselves. They outright rob hard working citizens, than become violent when just a little reason is called for. The democrat party has been overtaken by radicals and terrorists supporters.
@jazzfusionary How exactly have the protests become violent? Also, even more importantly? Which terrorists do the democrats support and how do they support them? Can you even answer that or do you just tag people you don't like with the label of "terrorist" like people used to do with "communist" back in the day?
@jazzfusionary Actually, most progressives (a term was originally coined by the Republicans) are more and more against Obama, and really treat him, NPR, and the New York Times in different measure. Ron Schiller is only a part of NPR. It's like me hating either the Democratic Party OR the GOP because John Edwards or Newt Gingrich decided it was 'okay' to cheat on their cancer-stricken wives. Individuals are the immoral a-holes. Think critically.
You know, Catholics spend %30 less on their schools then what is spent on the public schools. Their teachers are not unionized and get a lot less pay then public school teachers. Yet they have a graduation rate of %89 and of that %92 go on to graduate studies. This is far above the national average. In other words Union thugs, higher wages more benefits don't mean anything to us Catholics yet our schools rating are through the roof. I am not pushing my religion I am just saying look at the facts
@billyslo87 The facts are in: your Jesuit brethren could have afforded you more grammar. "Garner's Modern American Usage" is an excellent book. Perhaps you were too busy playing acolyte baseball - you were the catcher, correct?
@bfremming In your eagerness to attack my religion you completely missed the point that I was making and debased your "argument" to personal attacks. hmmm never saw that coming from a liberal.
@billyslo87 I concede that my trailing sentence was indeed ad hominem, and that I can argue better. Your inference that mine was a religious attack, was misinterpreted (either intentionally or unintentionally). Unfortunately, many conservative talking points are argued by generalization, half-truth, and equivocation. I prefer to use "conservative" loosely, for lack of better term, surely no person is "just a liberal" or "just a conservative". Sarcasm only underscores weak argumentation.
@billyslo87 ...to better illustrate: although I've supported my friends/colleagues who happen to be gay, I've always taken offense to the term "homophobic". Support is not tantamount to "comfort" and I feel uneasy in gay environs as a straight man (for example). No, my former comment in the original message was not dig at your religion, but a criticism on how your superlative education was not evidenced in your grammar.
Obama needs to be tarred and feathered and run out of the country. He's nothing more than a thug who has set out to bring America down! People, you'd better wake up! I got my education in the state of California and it is definitely not what it used to be! Schools in general are just bad! Neither of my husband's boys, ages 17 and 14, can write in cursive! They can't form a proper sentence, and can't spell! Great teachers, eh? Let's have some more union! Teachers are almost worthless!
My sympathies that your stepsons are not commensurate with the English language. Some districts are indeed better than others, as there is a dearth of teaching incentive in this country. I would prefer to not be part of any union, would not need a three month hiatus (summer), and can furnish my own pension plan. I can teach your boys cursive, three languages, calculus, chemistry, statistics, philosophy, and even religious argumentation. My rate is $45 an hour. :)
States were exempt from collective bargaining in the first place because of the conflict of interest created union funds are used to simply elect those who give back the biggest perks. Even if collective bargaining was needed in today's working world--and I'm not sure it is--NO ONE should be forced to be a member or pay union dues. That should be entirely voluntary.
Government employees are supposed to be the servants of "The People" (taxpayers), NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! Let the government post a list of jobs available for given wages & benefits & see if anyone wants them. I'm sure in this economy, many people will be willing to work for less, and to be fair, government wages & benefits should not exceed any private wages & benefits. "The servant (government worker) is not greater than the master (the taxpayer)"
The real fight here is because the leftards are afraid to DEATH that the source of hundreds of millions in "dues" and mandatory "deductions" from union members will be reduced. Let's see; taxpayers pay public sector unions' salaries, and deductions from those taxpayers dollars are given to unions who give them only to legislators who promise to take more money from taxpayers and give it to union members who have it deducted from their wages to give to legislators who promise to take more money..
Elections have consequences, We sat helplessly during the 1rst 2 years of Obama adm. ramming all his agenda down and that was too bad we lost 08. then we fought back and won 10. Liberals if you really believe in your message fight hard in 12 but in the meantime act like grownups
@deltron2007 --By Corporations, do you mean entities that create jobs for people, who then are forced to pay higher taxes to public service employees who don't "create wealth" but rather feed off the system. 90% of all public sector jobs could be done by the private sector much cheaper and more effeciently than they are now. We are starving the horse and fattening the jockey. At some point we reach a tipping point where something has to be done before WE ALL GO DOWN in the flames of bankruptcy!
At the turn of 20th century unionswere needed . But I believe their use isn't as necessary. I mean with Andy Stern being in the white house MORE then the cabinet..
What they thrive on is power.Just saw an excellent video on Big Goverment explainining what collective bargining really is. video produced by Heritage Foundation.
@curtin58 produced by the Heritage Foundation? Which already gets regularly caught in promoting false information? That consists of corporate CEOs, as well as former GOP cabinet members? come on ....
since when was collective..don't you just love that communist expression..bargaining become a right..I don't see it anywhere in the Constitution..but then when did any socialist or liberal ever read that historic document?
The lilly livered Repubs that are going weak kneed on Gov. Walker ought to grow a pair and stand strong with him . This is why we are in the mess we are in now the politicians don't have the integrity to stand on their convictions. Public opinion sways too many decisions. Take a stand Repubs or there will be a Third Party because people are tired of the crap and corruption.
GO WALKER!!. Love the stand this guy is taking to clean up the corruption within the system. I was in Madison yesterday and watched and followed 4 coach buses taking protesters back to Illinois. All we need now is to get the 14 snakes back to do the job they were elected to do.
The only way WE THE PEOPLE can do anything about what is going on is to VOTE. Wisconsin voted. They told the government they didn't like what was going on and voted people in that would do the peoples will. Everything that is going on in the streets of Madison, is ANTI-AMERICAN!! The MOB is trying to rule and fight against what was democratically voted in!! STOP THE INSANITY!! The Governor should either tell the police to disperse the crowds,or coerce the dems back and call for a vote!
So we are not allowed to have representation unless the 'progressives' agree with the results? I wish we had a democracy (representative republic that is). These bully tactics are so third world.
I want to reiterate mlcbtech's point that "[Public sector] Bargaining isn't a RIGHT. It was a privaledge granted over 50 years ago. It is an experiment that has failed!" Increases/decreases in pay and the [honest & fair] criteria to be applied thereto should be decided by the boss, who in this case "is" (collectively) the private-sector taxpayers (those people who are footing the bill), as in the private sector. Such decisions should be made on a special referendum ballot.
Frankly, the ad isn't that good. I believe the arguement today has shifted from the fiscal issue to the "rights" as the opposition terms it. That should be the focus now. Bargaining isn't a RIGHT. It was a privaledge granted over 50 years ago. It is an experiment that has failed! The fact that this issue is so important to the union leadership and members proves in it's own way why it has failed and needs to be repealed. anyone feeling sorry for the union members is a fool.
Labor unions can be useful. There’s a “Catch-22” - public employees need collective bargaining at times, but the power they wield in the body politic has become a terminal cancer in our society. Cry for your beloved country for what totalitarians are doing to it! California in 1958 had an education system the envy of the world. “Progressivism,” brought moral and academic disaster while costs skyrocketed. Taken from an LTE written 10/24/1998. I could smell it coming!
@Toddyodooly Public employee unions have NO RIGHT to collective bargaining. It's an awful rip off of the taxpayers and needs to be eliminated across the board. Collective bargaining by public employee unions has both bankrupted states and led to a decline in the quality of services offered (such as with labor unions).
@DefeatObamaCampaign Collective Bargaining is not the top issue. It is the public unions use so that they can blackmail the government for more money from which it can collect dues that will be used to support and keep in power those who gave into their demands.
It is a violation of the 24th amendment. A union member forced dues are the equivalent of a poll tax. This 'poll tax' is then used to cancel the individual union members vote just as a 'poll tax' suppressed blacks in the old south.
@DefeatObamaCampaign Let me ask you something. Let's assume that collective bargaining is in fact bankrupting the state. Why then is Walker only stripping collective bargaining from the public unions that didn't support him in the election but the public unions that did support him get to keep their collective bargaining?
@DefeatObamaCampaign I totally agree! That's why we not only need to end collective bargaining for teachers and lesser public workers, but much more highly paid public workers like police departments and firefighters. Police and firefighters need to pay their fair share so we need to reduce those pensions also, with complete elimination of their bargaining rights in equal measure to that of teachers. Wait, uh...
@Toddyodooly , labor unions have succeeded in making people very dependent upon them. It's time for them to take their intimidating, threatening, and thuggish tactics and behaviors and go away! Stand strong, conservatives, and don't give in!
Go Gov. Walker... about time someone had the courage to take on the Union Boss! Today's workforce should stand on performance not onto entitlements....
At one time Unions were a good thing but when mixed with greed and politics it can be a dangerous thing. Many companies who are in union forced states are wising up and moving out to another area where they aren't forced to have a union. It's a shame for that comment @:34 "get a little bloody" and it's not appropriate at all no matter what. I am disappointed in Americans who act like this because these kind of people hurt the future for our children when encouraging violence. Keep the peace!
It's the unions and their flunky tax and spend democrats that put you in the spot you are in but you blame the people trying to fix the problem and not the problem makers. The Wisconsin unions attempt to overthrow state government and dictate to the taxpayer is anything but peaceful. Union thugs and sympathizers have threatened people and I expect soon that the unions will resort to violence if they can't have their way. The lack of jobs is because business does now operate where unions rule.
Its time to balance our budgets and tighten our belts. We must remove the parasites that live off our daily work . I pay for my retirement and my medical. The car I drive home I paid for, not the state. No collective bargaining and pay your own way.
@Gaidhlig1090 There's nothing wrong with being a nationalist! I just happen to be in the better nation ... well, it was until November 4, 2008, that is.
And no, there is no connection between xenophobic and being racist, contrary to what your ignorant little mind might think! So sorry! Thanks for playing!!
Hey Unions, It's over, you may be able to put it off for a while, but they have been on life support for years. When they start to fall, it's only a matter of time, one by one. Without the unions that leaves just the public aid moochers in the Democratic base.
@BOB8313 The whole country has been put on life support for decades now that the rich have made it legal to earn billions and then off shore these billions and not pay taxes. Only Idiots or trust fund babies would want a bunch of other un-tried trust fund babies running this country like a feudal system. Talk about rotten aristocracy. Did those nasty teachers teach to read and write? Those useless teachers don't deserve a middle class living right.
The unions have become the very monsters they were created to protect the majority of workers from. They have since shrunk to protecting a minortiy of workers from getting fired no matter how lousy they are while giving them more money/benefits then everyone else. I hope Walker and all the other governors hold out and yank the unions down from their high horse.
The democratic process and the will of the people needs to be honored in Wisconsin. The Republican Governor and the Republican majority in both houses were elected to change the direction that the state was heading. They are trying to accomplish that through the democratic process. Obama and his union thugs needs to get on their buses and go home.
The most striking aspect of this is Obama's involvement and the use of his political machine to implement the "mobbing" of Wisconsin. All the while this President obviously approves of the unethical and illegal "AWOL" Democrats. He's debasing the office.
So because you accuse someone else of doing something, it makes it okay? If I'm ever in traffic court again, I'll be sure to float the "someone else did it" defense. Idiot.
Unions, especially public employee unions, are nothing more than Leftist advocacy groups and money-laundering schemes for Democraps.
The Democraps bail out the union "pension funds" with taxpayer money, then the unions send it back to them in fhe form of massive campaign contributions.
And it's all perfectly legal, so long as no one on either side "gets" what they're doing. Yeah, as if.
Just look at the difference in speech from supporters of Walker, and the left. Supporters are respectful. Most of the lefts post on this issue is foul, rood, and pour hate speech. Just know that the conservative people out there like me are not the ones trashing our capital building and attacking Fox reporters. I ask that people pray! This country is turned upside down. What once was just and right, is looked at as ignorant now. I say all of you that have faith in Jesus, pray! IScot stay strong!
Proud to have voted for you Govenor Walker. Unions have long sense out grown there usefullness. So it's ok for private sector to loose pay took a $2300 pay cut last year, pay $400 a month for Health Care with a $5,000 family deductable. Stop your complaining and do what you where sent to do TEACH OUR CHILDREN. Oh one more thing stop trying to get sympathy from our children by taking class time to complain.. Or go to the private sector and make a 1/3 less then you can complain.
@lcrealist Teachers would make twice as much if they were paid by the hour and soon they will be thanks to this. Nobody is going to college for as many years as a doctor just to make waitress pay and the people who do will demand "more" pay through private industry which most people won't be able to pay.
Don't worry, your kids will be taught how to hold a coal ax or a serving tray for free. Education is soooooo over rated.
@smallaxe100 Yes follow the money, but know what you are foillowing........ The COC"s generate the atmosphere for private sector business to operate, create jobs and therefore create more taxpayers. This is not about protecting the rights of the middle class, it is about government workers and special interest unions defrauding and exploiting the taxpayers! Obama's administration has spent more money in the 111th congress than all the previous 110th congresses combined!
Unions and banks will the death of this country yet. Both are run by corruption and intimidation, thievery and murder. The sooner we do away with democrat unions and banks the better.
Ha "every once in a while you need to get a little bit bloody"?!?! Just a few months ago when Congresswoman Giffords was shot, had any Republican said anything close to this remark we would have probably never won an election for the future 20 years because liberals would never stop the assault. Just goes to show the blatant hypocrisy
Great Video, just wish it would have shown the violent liberal union attacks and rhetoric that have happened in the past few days..
Funny how the liberal media call the TEA party racist and violent with no evidence at all, but when there is video evidence of physical and verbal violence on the left, they seem to forget to report that.
Follow the money - Dems fight for unions - unions give money to Dems to run for office - once elected they give raises to government unions who in turn give more money to Dems to keep their offices so they can give more money to unions. It's a perpetual method for keeping Dems in office and they continue to bankrupt the country for their own selfishness.
unions also funded scott walkers campaign, the ones he wanted to leave with collective bargaining rights, and the Tea Party has been, and currently is, directly funded by Koch industries, this bill attacks those who dont fnancially support the GOP and Walker. Scott Walker is attacking the opposition to ensure he and his GOP pals stay in office and enjoy the benefits of putting the state's deficit on the opposition. What does he care, they dont vote for him.
@FloydIV - Republicans are supposed to fight for capitalism. That means supporting rules and regulations that will increase industry and manufacturing and entrepreneurship. And that will increase employment. Republicans and Dems have went down the left wing path for 20 years now and all the jobs went to China, where Industry has less regulations and lower taxes and expenses. We are hemorrhaging jobs because we are doing socialism, and China is doing the capitalism.
" Dems fight for unions - unions give money to Dems to run for office - once elected they give raises to government unions who in turn give more money to Dems to keep their offices so they can give more money to unions."
That's exactly right. And it IS that simple! And OBVIOUS. Too many people read headlines, ignore the text, and take everything the media says - oho, as long as it isn't Fox News - as Gospel.
@wingleader69 Follow the money - Reps fight for CEO's of big companies - these companies give money to Reps to run for office - once elected they break unions and lower taxes which provides management of companies to form monopolies and dangerous mergers which makes CEO's happy who in turn give money to Reps which in turn create smoke and mirror issues such as gun rights and how the average joe is being so overtaxed and then get elected to office to satisfy their hunger for power.
@wingleader69 Same bag of shit different label...both of these parties have their shortcomings and play their game in front of the public, dividing this country further. Just a bunch of puppets who act it out on stage and then go suck each other off behind closed doors. Go back to sleep middle class, big interests have this place all under control......by the way they'll take your guns and kill your babies! don't vote for them they support rights such as collective bargaining!!!
@wingleader69 How is that any different from the large corporations funding the republicans. And to clear up your misinformation, the big corporations that fund republicans so they can get deregulation are the ones who put the world's economy in the shitter. Don't forget the two wars that were started without a way to pay for them. I'm sure none of this makes any sense since there isn't a democrat for you to blame. You fucking trolls are all the same.
@wingleader69 And the GOP give hundreds times more to oil companies, large corporations and banks. All those who screwed average Americans. Wake up you dolt.
@orion7747 So what! Democrats have made us MORE dependant on foreign oil now, and guess what, dolt? We're paying MORE at the gas pump, because Democrats refuse to let us drill domestically! Oh, but its OK for other countries to dril off our coasts, but we can't!
@ToddonCapeCod Did you go to public school? Can you read, add, compose sentences? Do you think you could have learned all that by yourself or from you mom. Are those teachers suppose to serve the likes of you for a waitress's pay and no health care after incurring thousands in debt at the University. Now that you've got the goods, you have no use for those that delivered them. Too bad those low life teachers that just want a modest living and health care can't take it back. Too damn bad.
@Textynn For starters, I taught myself a lot of reading, writing, etc. Second, my wife is in the field of education, and even she is disgusted by these union thugs in Wisconsin. You're full of shit, if you think teachers get the same pay as waitresses! Are you aware that two-thirds of Wisconsin 8th graders can't read proficiently, despite the highest rate of spending per student in the MidWest? Who's fault is that? I'd say teachers aren't doing their jobs and expect to be paid for their failures
@ToddonCapeCod You taught yourself to read and write. Yeah , right. People are not just born knowing how reading works. Of course everyone teaches themselves to some degree. A person is taught tools that they must use to learn. It can't simply be poured into your head. It would be impossible to learn to read without some instruction. People aren't born knowing what letter sounds are etc. That's like saying doctors don't deserved to be paid because your antibodies did the healing.
@Textynn There you go, ignoring the facts! Again, do you think teachers deserve to be paid more for the large illiteracy rate of Wisconsin students, despite the amount of money being spent per student in the entire MidWest? You talk about antibodies and doctors being paid, but can't respond when teachers fail our students! BTW, do you believe doctors are right to hand out fake sick notes to teachers and other workers who are on strike in Wisconsin??? hmmmmm?
@ToddonCapeCod As far as your wife being in education, I doubt that. If she is, Im sure she is enjoying her medical and financial security from other sources like her family's wealth or you. People have to have a secure source of medical and financial security outside of family because everyone doesn't have that. If you can't earn this kind of security from years of college and the expense what the hell are people suppose to do. Jerks like you are against Single Payer as well. Selfish
@Textynn Well, there's no sense in talking to you any further since you can't believe my wife is in education. If I was lying, I would have said that I was. God, you're so stupid!! And you're stupid enough to believe that if it weren't for unions no one would ever get paid! I get paid, but I'd rather hit my balls with a tack hammer than join a union!!!
@ToddonCapeCod No you rather that millions of people couldn't bargain for health care and old age security so you can have things cheaper. Nobody would go to college and work ten hour days for the crappy pay that teachers get without the pay in the form of security for a lifetime or work. It's called slavery when you demand that others give their work, time, and resources for minimal or no security in life. Maybe when teachers are too old to work you can just have them shot. Problem solved.
@Textynn Well, so far you never answer my question. You're fixated on the lie that unions are the saviors of all workers when they are slaves beholden to Democrats, and that's all this is about: Money and power for Democrats. That's all.
You haven't the intelligence to speak to me on my level, Tex. If anyone should be shot for being a waste of space, its you
@ToddonCapeCod You are obviously a degenerate. Like all exploiters, you expect others to give of themselves to a sacrificing degree and then call them criminal or losers when they work to protect themselves against poverty or health care disenfranchisement which could and does lead to crippling and death. People have to do plenty to serve employers, move to the job, invest in a dwelling near the job, get and pay for the education, incur serious debt to do all this. Protection is needed, period.
@Textynn You say I am an exploiter, but I personally don't feel like paying people for a job they're not doing. These teachers who are not teachign students, think they should be paid for that! You obviously also think doctors should throw out their integrity for a lie, too, seeing as you refuse to come out and say they are wrong for writing fake sick notes.
So -- I just have to ask you: Where the hell is your integrity, man? You're pretty pathetic, come to think of it!
@ToddonCapeCod You make zero sense. What the hell is a fake sick note? A doctor's integrity was never mentioned . You have more than a few screws loose. Well, I knew that from the start.
Thanks for further proving your own stupidity, jackass!!
It's a fact that doctors have been giving out fake sick notes to the idiot teachers and union workers, who have been wasting time protesting in Madison, to excuse them from their jobs!!
My God, what an idiot you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ToddonCapeCod Only an idiot that is concerned about appearing stupid would ever even think of laughing at someone because they hadn't heard some small factoid in the news. That's even worse than laughing at someone because they don't know some minuscule fact in science or history which is common among half wits.
@Textynn Oh, Tex, you glittering jewel of colossal ignorance. How about getting off miniscule facts, and answering some questions that you have been avoiding, some five times now? Do you believe that the large percentage of illiteracy in Wisconsin, in relation to the amount of money spent per student merits higher pay? And, do you believe a doctor who hands out a fake sick excuse note is a person of integrity? Stop showing your utter idiocy all the time!
@Textynn And what part of YOUR wonderful education kept you from googling "fake sick notes in Wisconsin" rather than saying, "DUUUUUHHHH! What's a sick note?"
Honest to God! We've been talking about teachers, and yet its more and more apparent somewhere along the line your own teachers failed you, Tex! Judging by how stupid you've been here, it seems to me you should be pissed at them for failing you, and side against them getting paid higher for short-changing YOUR education!!
@ToddonCapeCod I suggest you go watch "Grapes of Wrath" This is what happens when people are denied the right to protect themselves against greed and indifference of people that would love to use them for as little as possible which is exactly what happens. Go find this movie and see the End Game of those you are a fan of. These people have exploitation down to an art . An art that has been exercised throughout the ages. You are ignorant and just lucky enough not to have fallen victim. Yet.
@ToddonCapeCod "You haven't the intelligence to speak to me on my level, Tex. If anyone should be shot for being a waste of space, its you" You level is a very very ignorant sociopath. Did anyone find you that tack hammer for you tack size balls yet?
@Textynn Again, I have to do the explaining, because you're too damn dumb to figure it out: I said I would rather hamer my balls than join a union; since I have no idea of doing the former, ever, there's not much chance of doing the latter! DUHHH!
And, have you given any thought to whether doctors are right in giving teachers and union workers sick notes? Or if teachers should be rewarded for being so ineffective at their jobs?!?!? I sure as hell wouldn't reward someone for doing a poor job!
Nobody forced these people to be teachers. Teachers know full well what their compensation is when they choose their career. I put myself through college, got an engineering degree and have run three successful businesses, employing several other people. I have produced, and I have saved along the way because I don't expect ANYONE but me to pay my way. People who expect others to GIVE them health care or retirement just because they had to endure what most others did are the selfish.
@cscrum What the hell are you talking about. These teachers health care and retirement is part of their earned pay. The don't give it to you just for getting a Teaching degree. Teachers work about ten hours a day and about half that on weekends. I know because I was one. I don't do it now because the pay sucks. I spent years of my life grading papers every night and on weekends after a full heavy week of work. I could make as much working at McDonalds for that many f'n hours.
@Textynn Thanks for proving my point. Teachers don't have to be in the job they are in. THEY made the choice. They should do just what the rest of us do and SAVE for retirement, and CONTRIBUTE to their own medical costs. Oh and yeah, maybe they work 10 hours a day, but they also get 3+ months OFF each year! Stop whining.
@cscrum I didn't go to school for over six plus years, plus ongoing education, and serious debt to work for McDonalds pay. I won't do it and neither will anyone else. If I wanted to make waitress pay and have waitress security I wouldn't have bothered and I sure wouldn't take on this responsibility and accountability for unskilled pay. If going to college for the better part of a decade and incurring thousands in debt for a teaching degree means nothing to you, fine, your kids will be ignorant
Then you should have chosen a different field. It doesn't make economic sense to rack up that kind of debt and then take a job that can't cover it. Don't blame the rest of us for your poor decision making. Most teachers I know aren't in it for the money, they do it because they have a passion for it. Don't get me wrong, I think teachers deserve more compensation than they get, but I also believe they must pay the same for retirement and benefits as the rest of us.
@cscrum If you believe that..you're head is in the clouds..Those that can DO..those that can't TEACH..and then sit back and collect pension well over and above the private sector. It is not the responsibility of the taxpayer to fund your retirement.it's yours.
@cscrum Teachers contribute to their health care costs. They have a big chunk of change deducted every month for services just like everyone else. They also pay huge co pays, just like everyone else. If you think teaching is a waitress level job that just shows how ignorant you are. Unfortunately, your kids and the next generation are going to completely ignorant. Fortunately, I have t he skills to make sure my kids are not, but you , on the other hand, will just get to enjoy dumb kids.
@Textynn Wow, typical liberal, can't win an argument so you result to personal insults. As to the actual points in your insulting reply, maybe you you missed the news lately, but teachers don't pay the same in WI as the private sector. THAT is the main issue. In most other sates teachers are paying proportionately equal to the private sector and I applaud them for doing so. BTW, my parents are teachers with MS degrees and they don't complain at all. They KNEW what they were getting into.
@cscrum Don't worry if your kids and grandkids can't read, they will be told "everything" they need to know. They will be shown just how to hold a coal shovel and a serving tray, and they can pay their health care out of their minimum paid wage like every other disposable slave in the factory dorms.
@Gaidhlig1090 Well, Tex, if you did have a brain that was working, you'd see that my name is 'ToddonCapeCod," and I guess I have to explain to someone of your limited intelligence that Cape Cod is nowhere near Wisconsin.... ergo, she doesn't work in Wisconsin!
@ToddonCapeCod Gee, thank you for that awesome belittlement attempt. It would surprise you to know, that I don't read names on youtube comments, I simply look at the comments. So before you jump the gun and go all gung-ho on your superiority trip, be a little more thoughtful in your assumptions, you pompous prick. Have a good day.
@ToddonCapeCod Whoa, and here's something I just realized, apparently, you think you're talking to someone named "Tex" right here. Well, newsflash! You might want to take your own fucking advice and look at the name of the person you are responding to, before making a douchebag of yourself. Good on ya, mate.
@ToddonCapeCod Look, dickchin, I simply made a comment to you about the video, and apparently, in your blind zeal, mistook my comment for someone else's, and proceeded to insult me for no fucking reason. So go fuck yourself you arrogant, oblivious, filthy cunt. Good day you ignorant American.
@Gaidhlig1090 Actually, asshole, you made a comment about my wife! So, yes, I had reason to insult you. And, seeing that you're not an American, it even gives me more reason to despise you than I already do!
@ToddonCapeCod Because you're a racist asshole. I figured that from your superiority complex. And my making a comment about where your wife lives, which bears absolutely no insult or jab at you or her in any way was grounds for the subsequent bashing I recieved from you? I'd hate to be your neighbor. Likely to shoot me soon as look at me. Fucking hothead.
@ToddonCapeCod If you believe I was the one out of line, and you were completely in the right, than you have some fucked up issues pal, and I hope you get some help for your skewed view on reality.
@Gaidhlig1090 SKEWED?!!?!?!? You've called me every name under the sun, and a racist to boot! Race has never entered this conversation, except by you!!!
But, again, if that's what you think it takes to get one up on me, then have at it!
@ToddonCapeCod And who's fault was that? If I recall, you're the one who instigated the whole thing, by being a completely unprovoked douchebag to me, I simply retaliate, using your own statements against you. Again, if you think I'M the antagonist, you've got problems.
@Gaidhlig1090 HA! Typical liberal! You call me a racist, for no reason, and yet its my fault!
Then, again, I should really know better. Its only when liberals are losing the debate than they think they can gain trackage by yelling "racist" even if for no reason!
@ToddonCapeCod You mean, when I mentioned I wasn't American, that it "gives me more reason to despise you" doesn't constitute as racist, or at the very least, xenephobic? You're a retard.
@wingleader69 Follow the money - Repubs fight for corporations - corporations give money to Repubs to run for office - once elected they give welfare to corporations who in turn give more money to Repubs to keep their offices so they can give more money to corporations. It's a perpetual method for keeping Repubs in office and they continue to bankrupt the country for their own selfishness.
@wingleader69 Two selfish billionaires are doing everything you accuse the unions of doing for Dems. At least Unions are trying to do the bidding of millions while the Koch leaches who don't pay taxes are trying to do the bidding of two people. You don't think tax cuts for people that already have billions is bankrupting this country. They live in this country , enjoy the quality of life that democracy has built and then put all their money in off shore banks. Despicable.
The madness of entitlements and special interests has to stop. I appreciate the hard work teachers do, but they are fairly compensated. How do I know? I have never seen a mainstream media story that actually posts the salaries and perks the unions have secured from those they supported in office. Walker is doing what he promised in the election. Elections have consequenses
@jonmccormack You are a moron with your 'entitlement' crap. Get an original thought you Fox News lap dog. Walker NEVER promised to bust the unions and the unions HAVE ALREADY AGREED TO CONCESSIONS. Unless you are rich and even of you don't belong to a union, you will be affect if unions fall. Do be a douche.
@orion7747 Unions have NOTHING to do with my work, and if they did, I'd quit! I refuse to let my hard-earned pay go to organizations that are now acting like uncaged animals in the state capitol of Wisconsin, nor to Democrat candidates! I'd rather pound my balls with a tack hammer, than let my money go to unions!
@jonmccormack Pensions and health care are EARNED. They are a form of payment that people agree to as part of their compensation. They EARN it. People need to make a living and they need health care. No one has the time to work for a master that is going to work them for anything less. Teachers have to get almost as much education as doctors in many states. I know WA requires a Masters and continuing education. It is grueling job that is only half done at the end of the school day.
Walker is figting for all Tax payers,....greedy unions are only fighting for themself,....Unions make up 11% of workers,....Public Unions are a form of Communism,...when you are forced to join and pay dues,..Walker wants to give people the freedom of choice,...Unions are a cycle of corruption and burden the middle class
we have labor laws now to protect workers,..America cant afford Unions, they are a major reason we cant compete on a gobal market,..People wake up to the FACTS
Great video! I'm fed up with all of the corruption in D.C. The stand taken by governors is one to be honored. It brought light to Americans on how entrenched unions are in the public sector and it has to stop! We need Obama to resign or impeach him and his whole administration! He needs to immediately take the moratoriums off of drilling and so should the dept of interior! We must drill now and get unions out of the way! DONALD TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT 2012!!!!
This is all part of the new civility that the left wanted. Blood in the streets....Maybe that is a good idea....hard to say but sure seems like the left want that....
This is a confrontation of Obama and the unions against us the TAXPAYERS.
We need to come back to our principales, and do not let the Union Bosses elect our Goverment leaders, today, they (Democrats) seem to be puppet of the Unions, look at the Wisconsin Democrats...
It's time for this to end. It is sooo second grade mentality. Hit the little guy where he lives is the wrong attitude to take when we are in a recession. Soon the only people with jobs will be the union. And from the looks of things even those people will be in President Obama's back pocket!
I AM A GOVERNMENT WORKER...and I am totally for Governor Walker. It's only because I was self-employed and in the private sector for years that I developed the work ethic I have, and although I am currently covered by a County benefit structure, I certainly don't take it for granted and am planning for my own retirement. I believe in collective bargaining for wages and benefit packages, but the whole pension plan structure is destroying not only Wisconsin, but California and more.
boradcast the names of OBAMAS under the table connection with the UNION.

The democrat party has been overtaken by radicals and terrorists supporters.
jazzfusionary 1 year ago
@jazzfusionary How exactly have the protests become violent? Also, even more importantly? Which terrorists do the democrats support and how do they support them? Can you even answer that or do you just tag people you don't like with the label of "terrorist" like people used to do with "communist" back in the day?
skulllord125 1 year ago

@bfremming In your eagerness to attack my religion you completely missed the point that I was making and debased your "argument" to personal attacks. hmmm never saw that coming from a liberal.
billyslo87 11 months ago
@billyslo87 I concede that my trailing sentence was indeed ad hominem, and that I can argue better. Your inference that mine was a religious attack, was misinterpreted (either intentionally or unintentionally). Unfortunately, many conservative talking points are argued by generalization, half-truth, and equivocation. I prefer to use "conservative" loosely, for lack of better term, surely no person is "just a liberal" or "just a conservative". Sarcasm only underscores weak argumentation.
bfremming 11 months ago
@billyslo87 ...to better illustrate: although I've supported my friends/colleagues who happen to be gay, I've always taken offense to the term "homophobic". Support is not tantamount to "comfort" and I feel uneasy in gay environs as a straight man (for example). No, my former comment in the original message was not dig at your religion, but a criticism on how your superlative education was not evidenced in your grammar.

OnerealAmerican 1 year ago 4
Government employees are supposed to be the servants of "The People" (taxpayers), NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! Let the government post a list of jobs available for given wages & benefits & see if anyone wants them. I'm sure in this economy, many people will be willing to work for less, and to be fair, government wages & benefits should not exceed any private wages & benefits. "The servant (government worker) is not greater than the master (the taxpayer)"
Ethercruiser 1 year ago 5
The real fight here is because the leftards are afraid to DEATH that the source of hundreds of millions in "dues" and mandatory "deductions" from union members will be reduced. Let's see; taxpayers pay public sector unions' salaries, and deductions from those taxpayers dollars are given to unions who give them only to legislators who promise to take more money from taxpayers and give it to union members who have it deducted from their wages to give to legislators who promise to take more money..

1VoiceOfReazon 1 year ago 2
Frankly, the ad isn't that good. I believe the arguement today has shifted from the fiscal issue to the "rights" as the opposition terms it. That should be the focus now. Bargaining isn't a RIGHT. It was a privaledge granted over 50 years ago. It is an experiment that has failed! The fact that this issue is so important to the union leadership and members proves in it's own way why it has failed and needs to be repealed. anyone feeling sorry for the union members is a fool.
mlcbtech 1 year ago
Labor unions can be useful. There’s a “Catch-22” - public employees need collective bargaining at times, but the power they wield in the body politic has become a terminal cancer in our society. Cry for your beloved country for what totalitarians are doing to it! California in 1958 had an education system the envy of the world. “Progressivism,” brought moral and academic disaster while costs skyrocketed. Taken from an LTE written 10/24/1998. I could smell it coming!
Toddyodooly 1 year ago 15
@Toddyodooly Public employee unions have NO RIGHT to collective bargaining. It's an awful rip off of the taxpayers and needs to be eliminated across the board. Collective bargaining by public employee unions has both bankrupted states and led to a decline in the quality of services offered (such as with labor unions).
DefeatObamaCampaign 1 year ago 29
@DefeatObamaCampaign Collective Bargaining is not the top issue. It is the public unions use so that they can blackmail the government for more money from which it can collect dues that will be used to support and keep in power those who gave into their demands.
It is a violation of the 24th amendment. A union member forced dues are the equivalent of a poll tax. This 'poll tax' is then used to cancel the individual union members vote just as a 'poll tax' suppressed blacks in the old south.
mrboo99at 1 year ago
@DefeatObamaCampaign Let me ask you something. Let's assume that collective bargaining is in fact bankrupting the state. Why then is Walker only stripping collective bargaining from the public unions that didn't support him in the election but the public unions that did support him get to keep their collective bargaining?
skulllord125 1 year ago
@DefeatObamaCampaign I totally agree! That's why we not only need to end collective bargaining for teachers and lesser public workers, but much more highly paid public workers like police departments and firefighters. Police and firefighters need to pay their fair share so we need to reduce those pensions also, with complete elimination of their bargaining rights in equal measure to that of teachers. Wait, uh...

Mal3volution 1 year ago

Go back to sleep middle class, big interests have this place all under control......by the way they'll take your guns and kill your babies! don't vote for them they support rights such as collective bargaining!!!
thegipper77 1 year ago

How stupid can you, get, orion?!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod Did you go to public school? Can you read, add, compose sentences? Do you think you could have learned all that by yourself or from you mom. Are those teachers suppose to serve the likes of you for a waitress's pay and no health care after incurring thousands in debt at the University. Now that you've got the goods, you have no use for those that delivered them. Too bad those low life teachers that just want a modest living and health care can't take it back. Too damn bad.
Textynn 1 year ago 2
@Textynn For starters, I taught myself a lot of reading, writing, etc. Second, my wife is in the field of education, and even she is disgusted by these union thugs in Wisconsin. You're full of shit, if you think teachers get the same pay as waitresses! Are you aware that two-thirds of Wisconsin 8th graders can't read proficiently, despite the highest rate of spending per student in the MidWest? Who's fault is that? I'd say teachers aren't doing their jobs and expect to be paid for their failures
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod You taught yourself to read and write. Yeah , right. People are not just born knowing how reading works. Of course everyone teaches themselves to some degree. A person is taught tools that they must use to learn. It can't simply be poured into your head. It would be impossible to learn to read without some instruction. People aren't born knowing what letter sounds are etc. That's like saying doctors don't deserved to be paid because your antibodies did the healing.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn There you go, ignoring the facts! Again, do you think teachers deserve to be paid more for the large illiteracy rate of Wisconsin students, despite the amount of money being spent per student in the entire MidWest? You talk about antibodies and doctors being paid, but can't respond when teachers fail our students! BTW, do you believe doctors are right to hand out fake sick notes to teachers and other workers who are on strike in Wisconsin??? hmmmmm?
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod As far as your wife being in education, I doubt that. If she is, Im sure she is enjoying her medical and financial security from other sources like her family's wealth or you. People have to have a secure source of medical and financial security outside of family because everyone doesn't have that. If you can't earn this kind of security from years of college and the expense what the hell are people suppose to do. Jerks like you are against Single Payer as well. Selfish
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn Well, there's no sense in talking to you any further since you can't believe my wife is in education. If I was lying, I would have said that I was. God, you're so stupid!! And you're stupid enough to believe that if it weren't for unions no one would ever get paid! I get paid, but I'd rather hit my balls with a tack hammer than join a union!!!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod No you rather that millions of people couldn't bargain for health care and old age security so you can have things cheaper. Nobody would go to college and work ten hour days for the crappy pay that teachers get without the pay in the form of security for a lifetime or work. It's called slavery when you demand that others give their work, time, and resources for minimal or no security in life. Maybe when teachers are too old to work you can just have them shot. Problem solved.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn Well, so far you never answer my question. You're fixated on the lie that unions are the saviors of all workers when they are slaves beholden to Democrats, and that's all this is about: Money and power for Democrats. That's all.
You haven't the intelligence to speak to me on my level, Tex. If anyone should be shot for being a waste of space, its you
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod You are obviously a degenerate. Like all exploiters, you expect others to give of themselves to a sacrificing degree and then call them criminal or losers when they work to protect themselves against poverty or health care disenfranchisement which could and does lead to crippling and death. People have to do plenty to serve employers, move to the job, invest in a dwelling near the job, get and pay for the education, incur serious debt to do all this. Protection is needed, period.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn You say I am an exploiter, but I personally don't feel like paying people for a job they're not doing. These teachers who are not teachign students, think they should be paid for that! You obviously also think doctors should throw out their integrity for a lie, too, seeing as you refuse to come out and say they are wrong for writing fake sick notes.
So -- I just have to ask you: Where the hell is your integrity, man? You're pretty pathetic, come to think of it!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod You make zero sense. What the hell is a fake sick note? A doctor's integrity was never mentioned . You have more than a few screws loose. Well, I knew that from the start.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn HAHAHAAHAHAHA!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod Only an idiot that is concerned about appearing stupid would ever even think of laughing at someone because they hadn't heard some small factoid in the news. That's even worse than laughing at someone because they don't know some minuscule fact in science or history which is common among half wits.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn Oh, Tex, you glittering jewel of colossal ignorance. How about getting off miniscule facts, and answering some questions that you have been avoiding, some five times now? Do you believe that the large percentage of illiteracy in Wisconsin, in relation to the amount of money spent per student merits higher pay? And, do you believe a doctor who hands out a fake sick excuse note is a person of integrity? Stop showing your utter idiocy all the time!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@Textynn And what part of YOUR wonderful education kept you from googling "fake sick notes in Wisconsin" rather than saying, "DUUUUUHHHH! What's a sick note?"
Honest to God! We've been talking about teachers, and yet its more and more apparent somewhere along the line your own teachers failed you, Tex! Judging by how stupid you've been here, it seems to me you should be pissed at them for failing you, and side against them getting paid higher for short-changing YOUR education!!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod I suggest you go watch "Grapes of Wrath" This is what happens when people are denied the right to protect themselves against greed and indifference of people that would love to use them for as little as possible which is exactly what happens. Go find this movie and see the End Game of those you are a fan of. These people have exploitation down to an art . An art that has been exercised throughout the ages. You are ignorant and just lucky enough not to have fallen victim. Yet.
Textynn 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod "You haven't the intelligence to speak to me on my level, Tex. If anyone should be shot for being a waste of space, its you" You level is a very very ignorant sociopath. Did anyone find you that tack hammer for you tack size balls yet?
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn Again, I have to do the explaining, because you're too damn dumb to figure it out: I said I would rather hamer my balls than join a union; since I have no idea of doing the former, ever, there's not much chance of doing the latter! DUHHH!
And, have you given any thought to whether doctors are right in giving teachers and union workers sick notes? Or if teachers should be rewarded for being so ineffective at their jobs?!?!? I sure as hell wouldn't reward someone for doing a poor job!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@Textynn
Nobody forced these people to be teachers. Teachers know full well what their compensation is when they choose their career. I put myself through college, got an engineering degree and have run three successful businesses, employing several other people. I have produced, and I have saved along the way because I don't expect ANYONE but me to pay my way. People who expect others to GIVE them health care or retirement just because they had to endure what most others did are the selfish.
cscrum 1 year ago
@cscrum What the hell are you talking about. These teachers health care and retirement is part of their earned pay. The don't give it to you just for getting a Teaching degree. Teachers work about ten hours a day and about half that on weekends. I know because I was one. I don't do it now because the pay sucks. I spent years of my life grading papers every night and on weekends after a full heavy week of work. I could make as much working at McDonalds for that many f'n hours.
Textynn 1 year ago 2
@Textynn Thanks for proving my point. Teachers don't have to be in the job they are in. THEY made the choice. They should do just what the rest of us do and SAVE for retirement, and CONTRIBUTE to their own medical costs. Oh and yeah, maybe they work 10 hours a day, but they also get 3+ months OFF each year! Stop whining.
cscrum 1 year ago
@cscrum I didn't go to school for over six plus years, plus ongoing education, and serious debt to work for McDonalds pay. I won't do it and neither will anyone else. If I wanted to make waitress pay and have waitress security I wouldn't have bothered and I sure wouldn't take on this responsibility and accountability for unskilled pay. If going to college for the better part of a decade and incurring thousands in debt for a teaching degree means nothing to you, fine, your kids will be ignorant
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn
Then you should have chosen a different field. It doesn't make economic sense to rack up that kind of debt and then take a job that can't cover it. Don't blame the rest of us for your poor decision making. Most teachers I know aren't in it for the money, they do it because they have a passion for it. Don't get me wrong, I think teachers deserve more compensation than they get, but I also believe they must pay the same for retirement and benefits as the rest of us.
cscrum 1 year ago
@cscrum If you believe that..you're head is in the clouds..Those that can DO..those that can't TEACH..and then sit back and collect pension well over and above the private sector. It is not the responsibility of the taxpayer to fund your retirement.it's yours.
chrycohauler 1 year ago
@chrycohauler I think you replied to a reply to me. I'm in agreement with you.
cscrum 1 year ago
@cscrum Teachers contribute to their health care costs. They have a big chunk of change deducted every month for services just like everyone else. They also pay huge co pays, just like everyone else. If you think teaching is a waitress level job that just shows how ignorant you are. Unfortunately, your kids and the next generation are going to completely ignorant. Fortunately, I have t he skills to make sure my kids are not, but you , on the other hand, will just get to enjoy dumb kids.
Textynn 1 year ago
@Textynn Wow, typical liberal, can't win an argument so you result to personal insults. As to the actual points in your insulting reply, maybe you you missed the news lately, but teachers don't pay the same in WI as the private sector. THAT is the main issue. In most other sates teachers are paying proportionately equal to the private sector and I applaud them for doing so. BTW, my parents are teachers with MS degrees and they don't complain at all. They KNEW what they were getting into.
cscrum 1 year ago
@cscrum Don't worry if your kids and grandkids can't read, they will be told "everything" they need to know. They will be shown just how to hold a coal shovel and a serving tray, and they can pay their health care out of their minimum paid wage like every other disposable slave in the factory dorms.

Gaidhlig1090 1 year ago
@Gaidhlig1090 Actually, asshole, you made a comment about my wife! So, yes, I had reason to insult you. And, seeing that you're not an American, it even gives me more reason to despise you than I already do!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod Because you're a racist asshole. I figured that from your superiority complex. And my making a comment about where your wife lives, which bears absolutely no insult or jab at you or her in any way was grounds for the subsequent bashing I recieved from you? @Gaidhlig1090 SKEWED?!!?!?!? You've called me every name under the sun, and a racist to boot! Race has never entered this conversation, except by you!!!
But, again, if that's what you think it takes to get one up on me, then have at it!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod And who's fault was that? If I recall, you're the one who instigated the whole thing, by being a completely unprovoked douchebag to me, I simply retaliate, using your own statements against you. Again, if you think I'M the antagonist, you've got problems.
Gaidhlig1090 1 year ago
@Gaidhlig1090 HA! Typical liberal! You call me a racist, for no reason, and yet its my fault!
Then, again, I should really know better. Its only when liberals are losing the debate than they think they can gain trackage by yelling "racist" even if for no reason!
Thank s for proving my point, once again! Heh!
ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago
@ToddonCapeCod You mean, when I mentioned I wasn't American, that it "gives me more reason to despise you" doesn't constitute as racist, or at the very least, xenephobic? You're a retard.

@Gaidhlig1090 Xenophobic, I'll give you. But you said racist, so .... yeah, its hardly me who's the retard, when you can't even speak right.

ToddonCapeCod 1 year ago

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING FOR GOVT WORKERS IS CORRUPT
1. Unions use dues to elect Union hack Politician
2. Politician sits across table from Unions in "Collective Bargaining"
3. Politician gives Union taxpayer money.
4. Taxpayer is stuck with bills..
5 Politician gets reelected
7 Unions get richer.
8. The real worker..the individual taxpayer/ small businessman is destroyed.
