But math is a very concise and logical language that it can be used to describe any theory that is well & truly understood - the correct ones as well as the false ones.

There are few people I admire more than Tom Woods. While he is always self effacing and would certainly disavow the title, he is an American hero. The man is brilliant. Marvelous presentation by a young dynamic leader. In the first half of his speech he repeatedly quenched his thirst with a plastic water bottle, which I found a bit annoying. Will now take a look at his 10 1/2 min. you-tube clip on "the Coming Collapse". At the end of this half hour speech I took note that only white people were in the audience. I saw no coloreds or other minorities. It never ceases to amaze me in noting the vast preponderance of activism to be driven exclusively by whites.

You make a good point. However, I still find it bothering that virtually all activism and attendees of speeches and presentations concerning contrary alternative opinion are Caucasians. it's either free health care so companies don't have to pay the overpriced health care and can use that saved money to hire more people, or reduce the cost of health care. but the big pharma and sickness care industry in the US are all in on the game and control congress. It is a FACT expensive health care destroys competitiveness and force US companies to outsource.
You bring up a good point about the big pharma, yet i think you really ought to look into the regulations. Every preceding administraton have increased the size of healthcare, and added regulations to the institutions to the point where the costs are unaffordable. Labor always has a cost, and someone has to bear it. The cost of the bureaucracy and forcing companies to provide care to people that aren't taking care of themselves is what is unproductive in the first place.

I would start by removing the limits on state borders, and national borders. How are we going to magically earn decent leadership when the government controls the indoc...err educational system? This is absurd. Watch any channel and you'll see pretty much constant attacks on our politicals leaders. Heck, the Daily Show does little but mock and question.
Most of the alleged attacks you have in mind are partisan or trivial. No free press would have allowed the Iraq hysteria to make any progress at all. No free press would tolerate the Iran propaganda. One could go on and on.
Don't be a nitwit, the Daily Show is entertainment. The mainstream media is owned by the same handful of huge corporations that pick and choose our presidential candidates. The whole corrupt system is applauded at every turn by the media, witness the total marginalization of the grassroots movement to audit the federal reserve and the blind eye being turned to Obama's complete renegation of his campaign promises.

I agreed with nearly everything Tom Woods said in the clip, but one thing disturbed me. Perhaps I misunderstood, but did he imply that Austrian Economics discards or avoids mathematical modeling as a tool? I know that most economic models are absurdly over-simplified and artificial and I do not endorse anything of the sort. But math is a very concise and logical language that it can be used to describe any theory that is well & truly understood - the correct ones as well as the false ones.

As I've noted elsewhere, while he may generally be a rational actor, there are many times when he thinks he's being a rational actor and he is not. And the reasons may be as varied as man himself. Marvelous presentation by a young dynamic leader. In the first half of his speech he repeatedly quenched his thirst with a plastic water bottle, which I found a bit annoying. Will now take a look at his 10 1/2 min. you-tube clip on "the Coming Collapse". At the end of this half hour speech I took note that only white people were in the audience. I saw no coloreds or other minorities. It never ceases to amaze me in noting the vast preponderance of activism to be driven exclusively by whites.

I heard this in Valley Forge at the Rally for the Republic this past September and enjoyed hearing it again even more. What made it even more uplifting was seeing so many young faces; I'd get about a third of the people in the audience were in their 20s--and they sooo get this. Thanks, Tom!

If only it were so simple. Higher capital requirements, you suggest as a possible "good regulation"? Then firms will simply just be all the riskier with the borrowing they ARE allowed to do. The problem is the "too big to fail" doctrine that encourages this ridiculous behavior.

the government needs to give free health care, then US manufacturing will be competitive again. That's why Germany and can compete when their currency is high in value. Speculative exotic type derivatives need to be taxed heavily, and government needs to legalize drugs. that is the only way to save America.

That doesn't make sense. Single payer healthcare isn't exactly free, and the private sector will bear the costs; this has been stated. How can a system that overburdens an economy possibly make anyone more competitive? This is in no way the reason why Germany can compete, and I'll remind you that the euro states are on the brink of monetary collapse. Spain and Greece are about to default; aren't they socialists...? You can't save anyone with legislation. You save them by imbuing independency.

it's either free health care so companies don't have to pay the overpriced health care and can use that saved money to hire more people, or reduce the cost of health care. but the big pharma and sickness care industry in the US are all in on the game and control congress. It is a FACT expensive health care destroys competitiveness and force US companies to outsource.

You bring up a good point about the big pharma, yet i think you really ought to look into the regulations. Every preceding administraton have increased the size of healthcare, and added regulations to the institutions to the point where the costs are unaffordable. Labor always has a cost, and someone has to bear it. The cost of the bureaucracy and forcing companies to provide care to people that aren't taking care of themselves is what is unproductive in the first place.

plenty of wasteful & bad regulations and wasteful lawsuits. we need proper efficient regulation and laws in place to act as recourse if a party is hurt. and unfortunately government is so corrupt they do not follow out their regulations and shut down big pharma companies such as pfizer and merck and investment companies such as Goldman. If there was such a thing as efficient regulations, we wouldn't be in a healthcare crisis , would we? I agree a healthcare reform "could" theoretically be possible, but philosophically i know that's not the government's incentive. I would start by removing the limits on state borders, and national borders. Removing wasteful bureaucracy, and obligations that force these companies to charge overpriced costs for their own survival.

This current form of globalization and free trade is not real free trade, it's all to give more profit to large multi-national corporations, take advantage of developing nations that do not have proper environmental regulations, pollute their lands, and to enslave its people. The Federal Reserve is not like any other private institution. It was created by an act of congress and is not subject to the same rules as truly private institutions. It's been granted powers that no one in the private sector has and does not operate under the same free market forces .

We tried that before, and where did it get us to? How many governments have come and failed by now? How responsive are governments to our demands compared to the private sector? How are we going to magically earn decent leadership when the government controls the indoc...err educational system? The bottom part of the government pyramid aren't evil or anything nor necessarilly unproductive; they are simply much less productive and the private sector bears the costs, you don't seem to get that.

This is ridiculous. No one's going to sell you gold at that price and if they are they need to be taken to the funny farm.

I don't know any other way to complain about it and warn viewers about it. Since it's obviously a scam.
I'd hate to see newcomers to the gold scene being taken by scammers since they could easily get the impression that the Add is somehow endorsed by the poster of the video.
