This is a great insight into a unique race track and with the Flying Scot talking us through each twist and turn it really is a joy to watch, thanks so much for posting this
Love this.....Stewart & Cevert were supreme....Cevert, with his matinee idol look's would have been a fantastic F1 champion.....a tragic loss..it must have broken Stewart's heart to lose his friend and protoge' at the season's end...Ickx driving the McLaren M23 for the first and only time outran regular driver's Revson & Hulme with ease.....legend's all...
Jackie Stewart always comes across torn between his obvious affection for the era, but also knowing how crazy it was and how many friends killed.
I always think though, if they hadn't died racing ? wouldn't they have died mountaineering or flying helicopters or something instead ? Some people are just driven to the limit, and some of those people won't make it back
i think it must be very great for jackie to see this old pics of his era again... and on the other hand it must be very sad for him to see all his friends again which died in the line of their passion.
and i think jackie stawart should be do ecclestones job! now one needs this cocksucker how destroyed f1!
Jackie forgot to say something about the F1 champion of 1972. Emerson Fittipaldi was racing too. But did not qualify well and ended in 6th...You can see him on the rear rows at the beggining. Look for a black Lotus 72E...
I was only 5 years old at the time, and don't remember watching this race, but I do recall watching the race when Nicki Lauda crashed just before Bergwerk. I never thought I would ever have the chance to drive this circuit in my life, but now that I have, it's amazing how different the vegetation and growth is today compared to this video.
I was 4 years old, living close to the track, and i have only a few things about this time in my head. That track is the most amazing race track in the world and it is nice to hear that the american guy knows most of the parts from the track. The old times will never come back but it is wonderfull to see that so many people have the same view of this! Green Hell :-)
yes its really gret too see that actally so much people know the nürburgring and mainly the nordschleife im living 1 1/2 hours from the track and im anytime there when i can on the dtm , in 3 weeks f1 and of course the 24 hour race and all vln rounds on it its just ,,The Racing Cuircit" its an explanation what passion what racing what glory is
My apologies, franticfury; it looks as if my comment was aimed at you. It was, of course, directed at the moron called EugenioBalasa. I think the "Reply" facility must have been taking a break!

I like these cars better than today's modern F1 cars. They're built the way I like my women - tiny but wider in the back end. ;)

Sureal! The nowadays tracks are boring, also the races. That´s gorgeous to race with so good landscape, track and rough cars how that one!
