  • Personally I think the Bogner cab makes the amp sound much differently than what I have heard it with the matching cab. Just my opinion.

  • Amp sounds Fantastic!! I can hear the warm classy gritty crunch.just how a GREAT amp should be!

  • Amazing job guys n thank you for this kool video n demo of th Legacy II.

  • would love to have the guitar he's playing

  • I'd rather spend the money on a ENGL giving some extra crunch & strong mids as well as scooped sounz !!!

  • Whoah, a Jem without a floating bridge O.O

  • what kind of ibanez jem is that ?

  • This is a GREAT amp! The Bogner Cab is not the best Cab for this amp...the Legacy or the V3 cab's with Vintage 30's are what is designed to play with! I worked for Carvin during the time this amp was being designed. Keep in mind there are NO effects on the amp.

  • Sounds like mud.

  • @ifiwasabug Thats actually by design. Steve Vai requested a very compressed bottom end in this amp which enhances sustain and chord clarity but can create a looser bottom end. Solution? dial up the mids, dial down the bass, and keep the preamp gain below 75%.

  • Sounds like a faming buttcrack IMO.

  • Sounds great. I'm perfectly content that his isn't in my native language. (english)

It allows me to really focus on the amp. Great tones man. Thanks for the review.

  • Legacy 2 ist echt fotzen geil!!

  • I want to ad for those who can't figure it out, every amp demo should be 100% dry. You are hearing only the amp tone then. I think this amp, sounding so good dry and being on youtube, will likely sound amazing in person. I'm interested in this amp, but I'd want a 50watt or even 30watt, but Carvin only offers it as 100watt. So Orange it is for me.

  • @MrFlatAdam There's a 50/100 watt switch on the back panel of my Legacy. So-far, every one of the 100W Carvin amps I've ever owned has had a 50/100 switch. I almost always have mine set at 50W. I hope that helps.

  • @MrFlatAdam I think the Legacy 2 has a switch in back that goes

    100, 50, or 25 watts.

  • @chrodmerich96 legacy

  • This sounds like shit. Whether it's YouTube's fault, the amp, or the player/settings.

  • ughhh if only this was in english, if i could understand this it probably would be a great review but it still is if i cant understand it. i can understand guitar

  • und was kostet der amp (also nur das topteil)??

  • u rule!

if u were only talked english////

  • I want one. NOW !!!!

  • dry and harsh

  • could use a little reverb

  • too much hi freq aaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • @spuogis you can't judge an amp by a youtube video thru tiny speakers , I'm sure it sounded much different in the room...It kills me how so many people make decisions based on a youtube video thru their computer

  • @HackerGuitarist

SO what's the point puting a video of amp in you tube? to how shiny it is? P.S when you record an amp you have to listen to recordig and then tweak the amp :)

  • This guy doesn't know how to make a good sound..omg, all amps in this reviews sound the same.

  • that tone is tasty :)

  • man my Legacy's sound so differant from these. Makes me wonder if both of my heads had mods prior to me?

  • @EL84 Nah dude this guy just has no idea how to EQ a vai sound Hes got pres on fuckin 8 and treb nearly 9 which is fucking up that sweet midrange.....hes trying to EQ it like a solid state metal amp =[

  • @EL84 I think its just sorta bad micing or maybe that bogner cab has a different set of speakers. It seems so harsh and not as deep as my legacy so I know what you mean.

  • @EL84 THIS AMP IS NOT MIKED RIGHT or HAS NO CRISP !!

  • @EL84 change speaker and you will tweak sound more than any other mods :)

  • 99% of the time i hate most Amps clean tone, but the Legacy sounds very nice ! All tones sound good on this amp, ill give it a 10 !!

  • riecht ziehmlich nach aufgepuscht ich glaub der hat da ne trmiene reingehaun ich hab den amp selbst angetestet so viel zerre hat der nicht

braucht er auch nicht vai will das so er holt seine zerre ausm jemeni pedal

  • The second channel sounds like a broken marshall plexi..

  • yea, seems like there is potential to further enhance this amps tone voice with some outboard gear. I'm on the fence on buying.

  • they are way better sounds that can be had from this head. this guy is pretty good player but needs help setting his eq for some of his sounds. mrscott99 has some pretty good vid's of legacy II.

  • the bogner cab doesnt work with this head

  • Sounds completely different then the first... Does anyone find it to be way too thick/fat for a Vai tone?

  • I agree, this amp is not what I expected for the sequel of the Legacy amp.

  • totally agree with OSWeindigo, this amps sounds like shit.

  • I know that is a JEM he's playing but what model is it? Great sounds from the Legacy 2 as well

  • You played the Legacy 2 combo? was it pretty quiet to be a tube amp? Does the master volume down low still keep the great tone?

  • das ist der erste amp den ich mit meiner jem555 testen werde nächste woche =)

  • The audio in this video really captures the sound of this amp IMHO. It is important to note that the lead volume is around 6 and the master vol is around 3. This is where the amp really starts to open up. I don't think the master volume should be seen as a fix to the "Legacy is too loud for the bedroom" complaint. It is now quiet enough for getting a great sound out of without overpowering everyone else in your band :).

  • I have 2 of the original Legacy combos with matching extension cabs ... run in stereo ... I love these amps ... I would like to eventually get one of these new heads just because ... lol

    CARVIN ROCKS !!!

    Great demo Musik Schmidt !!!

  • The speakers he has are like 2000 dollars, Way to eat your words.

  • Great review...I do not speak German but nonetheless you did a great job showing off the amp's tones. Nice playing as well.

  • woooooooooooooooow...if it wouldnt cost so much...i think id purchase it

  • It isnt about the mic, the sennheiser does his job very well. Its the case of a flat eq, which means its more 'true' then 'colored'.. which i think is the most honest way to show the amp. Also i'd like to note that the SM57 doesnt sound any better with flat eqs... ;-)

  • Yes...I will check my $20 JBL LSR 4328P studio monitors.

I suggest you get your ears checked:)

  • All of Your equipment is professional and expensive thats why your videos sound so shitty that one cannot hear anything !:-))))

  • Yeah, But his video's don't thive on gear reviews, as do these guys. Plus I saw/listened to all his videos, you can hear the guitar work he does(he's actually quite good.) Plus you don't really have a say in this you nor do I have any video's up of our playing or tones.

Tone comes from your fingers, and by going to your profile, your fingers are still trying to get down billy talent. Stop running your mouth.

  • These guys do all of us a favour and test some really nice gear so such smartasses as you and your tenaciousfuck should just shut the fuck up and play with your nice gear at home without leaving shitty smart comments !!

  • Sounds rubber-bandy. I notice that with every amp review you guys do. I thnk it maybe the mic' you guys use. Just Use a SM57.
